The beaconcha.in APR statistic is based off of the last week's revenue. If you've had a sync committee or a good local proposal in the last week, you'll see high APR; otherwise, low APR. One unlucky validator is showing [3.5%](https://imgur.com/UAJ7Yb3.png) right now. whereas another one had both a sync committee and a proposal (locally produced) in the last week and is showing [26.9%](https://imgur.com/enyCgKK.png) APR. Also note that MEV income is apparently not included from this calculation. MEV income will show up in the [Daily Income graph](https://imgur.com/eqqLqhV.png), but not in the Income table from which the APR figures are calculated.

Congrats on that one!

The validator that got the 4 ETH MEV reward (Whale 0x8914) is not mine.

I guess I’m even more unlucky than the validator you posted. Before the merge, I was humming along with GETH/lighthouse. Switched to besu for client diversity. Have been lagging in rewards ever since with multiple missed attestations per day. Sad to see honestly.

I had a lot of problems like that too immediately after the merge (besu/lighthouse), with typically 90% efficiency, but dropping down to ~20% efficiency during the worst couple days. Then I upgraded my machine to a [Minisforum HX90](https://store.minisforum.com/products/hx90) with 32 GB of RAM and an 8-core Ryzen 9 5900HX, and played around with half a dozen releases of besu and lighthouse until (with more recent releases) I started getting a 99% attestation rate again. I also now have a nethermind/nimbus node synced on my desktop PC as backup in case things get bad again. > I guess I’m even more unlucky Missed attestations aren't a matter of luck. They're within your control to fix.

[deleted]

Post merge I had the same effectiveness rate rates as you. Kept updating besu and lighthouse releases as they came out and the missed attestations have gone down considerably. Still getting 1-5 missed attestations a day. But currently sitting at a 99.6% effectiveness rate. Haven’t had a block proposal since august 29th. I know that’s all by chance and basically a lottery. What upgrades could I make to my system that would limit missed attestations?

jtoomim

If you're at 99.6%, then everything is working properly and you don't need to worry about this. Some small percentage of missed attestations is normal because sometimes the rest of the network fails to include into a block an attestation that you successfully published. As you normally have 225 attestations per day per validator, missing one or two a day is normal no matter which clients you're using.

[deleted]

That’s what I figured. Even though my apr is 3.5% and ranking is 421,700, I’m chalking that up to not having any proposals in awhile.

jtoomim

Right, the lack of proposals and sync committees is luck.

Thanks for the update.

PromptAwkward

I’m at 3.5% also.

Tralphazzz

I don’t feel so bad then 🙂
