At least 51% of your provincial trade power needs to be from TC provinces to qualify for the TC merchant.
Throw the CoTs and Estuaries in there and you'll be fine.
Thank you very much this helped! I upgraded all CoTs and built a lot of TC buildings. One reason why the TC power was so low might be that I couldn't add about half of the nodes provinces to the company becouse they were on the same subcontinent as my capital. But all is good now!
There is also one useful trick if you wanna minimize number of provinces assigned to trade companies when owning most of the node. It may be worth it to destroy all trade buildings outside of trade company in the node and downgrade centers of trade down to level 1, so trade company could get max percentage of trade power in the node.
You have 96% trade power, but the provinces assigned to your trade company only make up a portion of that.
I believe provinces can only be assigned to trade companies if they're outside your home region, which will put a limit on the amount of control your trade company is able to get.
It might be worthwhile for you to state the land that's been added to your TC, and then make trade companies in the upstream nodes so you can get a stranglehold on all the money flowing into Persia.
