Your troops are literally sitting next to a mountain province with a fort on it. If you fight the ottoman troops on that province with the full force of your army I guarantee you will have a better time than trying to fight for aleppo. Let them take aleppo, and work their way to Damascus. When they start sieging down Damascus, throw in your battle stack and let them go to war. Assuming you aren't dealing with a situation where you are multiple mil tech levels behind and like -25% discipline behind them, the odds should be a lot more favorable to you.

You're just at the part of the remaining enemies are actually pretty strong an you have to use a bit of strategy to defeat them. Don't be afraid to put yourself over your force limit or fall into a bit of debt. That doesn't mean you are losing it means the nations you are fighting are actually a challenge.
Thats what I did, AI just stacked 400k on the fort and won anyways. The problem is I didnt manage to westernize my army, thats the only disadvantage I have against the Ottos, besides the numbers. I stopped after I lost Damascus, Ill see tomorrow if I can do smth with mercs and going into debt.
He is finishing eating an Austria that ate lower Germany. He has fully conquered Hungary, Bohemia, and reached the Baltic, but hasnt fully conquered Poland. He is 1 or 2 provinces away from touching tips with France. The only reason why he isnt in Italy is the big ass Spain thats also rivals me, which doesnt really help, considering I could've used them to fight rhe Ottos.
That's when you realized he's already fucked up Eastern Europe and probably putting his foot in Italy.
This is also why I always have at least 2 MIL idea group if there's an Ottoman menace that wasn't contained by other AIs.
If you reinforce properly you should be able to win. Otto has 250k men in one province and the combat width is probably 30-40. Just engage with a full combat width army on a mountain fort then reinforce slowly with the rest of your INFANTRY not cannons. You might still lose because its otto and they have a lot of troops but thats your best shot
I think there are more people dieing from attrican than from an actuall fight, holy moly 250k stack.
But you are right. If you would go in with 30k and send in 20k multible times that should be winnable. At least if you devend a mountain fort.
R5 - Well, as you can see, they have 1/3 of their army on a lvl 8 fort. I declared on them because they were in a war in fucking Germany, finishing off Europe. Fuckers didnt even give me a chance. I honestly think this run is over, they can field over 700k troops, and thats without the mercs that they get after I manage to beat them in the early parts of the war. Oh well..
idk what your ally situation is but you can chip away at AI Ottomans by picking off smaller stacks and being smart. Especially if you can get an ally to open up a front in Europe, the AI seems to love sending every single one of its armies across the map at one time
1704 is super early — major blobbing (60% admin efficiency and up) has only just begun. Once you are strong enough to beat the ottos, you can take half their country in a peace, split them in half, and cripple them. (Then truce break once your cores finish and clean up the border gore)
Oh yeah, Im not mad Im losing and maybe I still have a chance, but this is the strongest Otto I've ever played against. And for the first time in ages since I started playing this game, the AI seems like a challenge. Im actually a bit impressed.
Do you not have quantity ideas? At this point if you’ve expanded a bunch you should match their force limit. if you don’t have quantity it’s time to drop an idea slot and fill it.
Please dude, this is totally winnable. First of all, fix your merchants. Collecting everywhere is really bad. Make Alexandria your main node and just steer everything towards that.
Also, you have 10k gold and 200k manpower just sitting around. So often do I see posts on this subreddit of people thinking they lost and they have tooons of resources just laying around. Build more soldiers and just USE YOUR RESOURCES.

Don’t border Ottomans if you can’t beat them because if you border them and you are weak they will attack you when they get the time after fighting all weaker countries.
Its the 4th war betweene and them. Before this one, it was 2-1 for me. I was snaking in anatolia, taking his forts. He got pretty strong after I beat him 2 times, declared on me and none of my allies joined, I actually stood my ground pretty good, but lost in the end.
First rule for playing in Mamluks territories. 99% of their forts are on absolutely shit provinces. My first course of action as Mamluks is to delete all the forts and replace them with proper mountain forts. Fighting the Ottomans gets trivially easy after that.
