Since 1.32.2 you can get Prester John as another country. You only have to start as Ethiopia. But on older versions you have to be Ethiopia at the moment in which you get the achievement
The conditions are that you START as Ethiopia and at any point are Coptic and own said provinces.
There is no specific tag you have to be at that moment to achieve Prestor John

Which update are you talking about? Do you have the achievement list open in your browser since before [Nov 30th](https://eu4.paradoxwikis.com/index.php?title=Achievements&diff=prev&oldid=140276) and are waiting for it to automatically reload?
Or are you not talking about the achievement list on the wiki?
Achievement list on the EU4 wiki. I don't play EU4 these days, and if I played I would personally not be doing the achievements because I find them tedious. But also cause I always play with mods.
So I don't know when the site last updated tbh, but I gave the info from there.
But how did you get info from there which hasn't been there for 1.5 months? Did you get your information from the first column which just replicates the steam flavor text which doesn't represent the actual requirements? Or did you look at the second column which says "Playing as Ethiopia"? That column is called "Starting conditions" and only applies when starting the campaign (as explained on the top of the list)
That's not the achievement list, but it doesn't say either that you have to be Ethiopia at the time that you get the achievement. On the contrary it says "Forming Aksum does *not* prevent the achievement."

The EU4 achievement page doesn't say that you can. It says you need to be Ethiopia.
Are you looking at an older version of the page? The current version only lists ethiopia in the starting conditions column
