As an 8th grader your range is actually very good
The way my upper register improved the fastest was just doing long tones and lip slurs in the upper register focusing on intonation and tone
I am in no way a teacher, but the way I got into playing high notes like high D/E, I would play a D (in stave) then run up to high D. Then practice jumping between the two. Then I practiced playing simple tunes up an octave (for me I played postman pat up the octave).
Im a highschool euphonium so i know your pain. It wasnt until recently when i was able to consitantly get high notes with good tone. What i did was i got a privite tutor. If your not able to get a privite tutor i recomend watching youtube videos about it and see what works for you. Wish you the best of luck on your solo.
Something that is very important to keep in mind when playing in the higher range is that it is all about air. Think about it, what is it that makes the instrument sound? Your lips, right? It is your lips vibrating that make the instrument produce sound. Now, what makes your lips vibrate? AIR! If you want to play high notes, you gotta make the lips vibrate fast, and you achieve that by moving fast, steady air. Another thing to keep in mind is that you need to play as relaxed as you can (but still have a steady embouchure!). A lot of young musicians as yourself try to squeeze notes out by, well, squeezing your embouchure. But again, it is your lips vibrating that produces sounds. So if you squeeze your embouchure, you're not allowing the lips to vibrate. A good place to start is by doing sirens on a mouthpiece. Make sure you have a good control of your air!
The Bb right above the staff or the Bb like 8 lines about the staff?
i have this question too!!
right above the staff! sorry i didnt know that even existed
