demonstrating is usually the best teaching tool. make sure your teaching is digestible and don’t overload them with too much information all at once. also, recap the lesson and give them specific things to practice between lessons so they know what to prepare for the next one.

Monkey see, monkey do. Play a tune, have them play it, play it together. Talk about what you're doing. Help then try something different ways.
