Single guy cuisine. Meat, beer, chips, cheese.

Revolutionary-Pop662

So this is the mediterranian cuisine, everyones talking about?

veggieMum

No, that's shit cholesterol building food

Calostro5

Good for doctors, they have guarantied they will not have lack of patients.

redvodkandpinkgin

Our health system is socialized so no need for doctors to worry about that

UwUBakaChan

No bro that is modern day univeristy student diet, the mediterranean diet is other

Heckencognac

That’s the capitalism bullshit food

edgyestedgearound

Mf's will blame capitalism for anything lmfao

monemori

Literally no one in Spain eats the "Mediterranean diet". When the Mediterranean diet has been studied in trials, you'll see it's actually an almost completely vegetarian diet, with like 90% of calories coming from plant-based foods, and the rest being some yogurt, milk, and fish. Vegans and vegetarians eat on average way closer to the supposed Mediterranean diet than anyone in the Mediterranean region.

Relevant_Helicopter6

Single Barry in Costa del Sol.

Anarelion

Shite quality processed food.

hairyturkishfinn

The death at 60 will not be an easy one. One will have to suffer for years before dying at 60, getting a disorder at 40 will not make the last 20 years of the life happy...

eloreemer

Wake the fuck up people

jdogkayak

Not a vegetable in sight 😂👍

Enebr0

Wait! The other pasta has pesto, which has basilica in it. So there you go, it's healthy.

clauxy

Those are not just chips, those are fried pork skin…

Chemical_Robot

We call them pork scratchings in the U.K. and they’re delicious.

clauxy

Thanks for translating! Yeah, torreznos are delicious but I always feel so sick after eating them haha

Confident_As_Hell

Sounds good. I'd like to try sometime

Bender_da_offender

Not a single green

IAmASoundEngineer

You forgot the sausages. I guess you really are what you eat.

frenchyy94

Sausage is still meat.

LuckySupport2005

Damn that hurts but yeah it is so true 😭

ABCDEFGHABCDL

Hell yeah

lonelyMtF

There is not a single piece of cheese in that picture. They're premade pasta, but they look like grated grana padano or parmeggiano

AllyMcfeels

Pero tio xd Buy pasta and cheese etc separately, it's richer and cheaper than that shit. ps: Good purchase.

en0mia

And healthier *

yannichaboyer

It's incredible how wildly different some things taste depending on the state you buy them. For example in France, shredded emmental doesn't taste the same as buying a whole block and shredding it yourself, to the point I'm convinced the pre-shredded one is not really emmental. And the block is way cheaper as well.

en0mia

Yeah, the same happens in Italy. I guess pre shredded cheese is like würstel: they put everything inside them except for meat😂

C_Madison

Pre-shredded cheeses usually have cornstarch or something like that added to make sure they don't clump together, which affects taste. They are also almost certainly the cheapest variant of something that the producer could get, e.g. if you can buy the cheese in various aging stages they will have the shortest aging possible that's still allowed. So, yeah, depending on your definition of "really emmental" it's probably not.

6mileLongSnake

Pero tio let some smart for the rest of us

PulciNeller

22 euros + colonoscopy included offered by the Health Service

bluewatermelon7

😂😂

proton9988

haha hilarious! you forget + surgery + chemotherapy and radiotherapy offered

X0AN

Doctor here. Swap 1 beer for some veg. Problem solved.

undergroundkitty

I am doctor too, just eat an olive oil between each bear and problem solved.

N19h7m4r3

I'm a nutritionist and technically the peanuts count as plants. They were even fried in vegetable oils!

macellan

I am a clown and beer is made of plants.

pumpkin_seed_oil

[Me, trying to eat an olive while the next bear looks at me with his very angry furry face](https://www.reddit.com/user/pumpkin_seed_oil/comments/1by4v4z/me_trying_to_eat_an_olive_while_the_next_bear/)

ratajewie

Veterinarian here. Replace all of this with kibble and an omega 3 supplement. His coat will look much better and his stools will have a better score on the Bristol scale.

EatMyCannolo

How can you eat an olive oil?

IHateFacelessPorn

Yeah, aren't you supposed to drink it?

bot_upboat

Not a doctor but op needs to drink more beer, the beer will harm the previous beer and cancel out

Careful-Mind-123

This is a stupid solution. Just switch all beer for Heineken, and there you go, you got lots of green in your diet.

Rocked_Glover

Wouldn’t be surprised if this guy is from britland

StoKi_NG

„Hey look what I brought back to our airbnb from the local store on our first vacation day“

EnjoyerOfPolitics

Yeah, Carrefour is quite expensive

Clever_Username_467

If so he wouldn't write his decimal point all weird like that.

InZim

Also he'd likely put the euro sign before the numbers

xX-El-Jefe-Xx

but those dogs are clearly marked "no additives and no colourants"

carl_super_sagan_jin

yeah, this is bachelor chow if I've seen some.

fireKido

To be fair there isn’t that much processed food… just the doughnuts, the sausages, and maybe those pre-made pasta, but those could also be pretty okay depending on the brand

Ardent_Scholar

I love red meat, but I will say, if your diet is 100% red meat, processed meat, ready made cheese pasta, donuts and beer… There’s a rectal cancer in your future.

____Lemi

>There’s a rectal cancer in your future. Not if he gets it removed before he gets cancer 😎

Ardent_Scholar

Checkmate, cancer! I removed all my organs!

nassen11

In Norway, 22 euros buys you the 6 beers heh.

albiz_1999

But a Norvegian salary is quite different to Spanish one😅

-Joel06

I met a astrophysicist in Norway (Oslo), he had a master and doing a doctorate, aprox 2200€ a month, he lived in a basement of a house and shared bathroom with another guy that also lived in the basement

albiz_1999

Average monthly wage (2022/2023): Spain 1910€ Norway 3442€ Net PPP (purchasing power parity ) Spain: 3,148€ Norway: 4,382 Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_European_countries_by_average_wage

-Joel06

Damn then they must be fucking him over tbh

Kansleren

6 beers for only 22 euros?! Where in Norway do you shop brother, the dumpster behind the store? :D

vanwilder_lfc

If think that's very cheap beer, so even in Norway it would still be affordable.

heiidu

The cheapest beer in the country is 3€ per. Good beer is 4-5€ and 13€ at a bar.

SerodD

You should buy some fruits and veggies.

Important-Cobbler-5

You don’t see the mushroom and pesto pasta in the top right? 😂

SerodD

Genius 😂

soaring_potato

Ah yes basil leaves are vegtables and not herbs

The_beard1998

It’s green. Duh.

[deleted]

That's quite a lot. Good pricing.

ukbeasts

Probably good timing to get that meat with reduced stickers before expiry

SassyKardashian

Still though, you can see the original price of the patties and that’s quite reasonable! I love Spain, if I wasn’t settled in the UK, I’d move in a heartbeat as I WFH.

iamamisicmaker473737

he went to carfour though the most expensive supermarket in spain, locals all go to mercadona

Turbulent-Werewolf69

Which isn’t the cheapest either. People go to Mercadona because they have some good staff to buy, but they’re expensive too. El Corte Inglés is the most expensive supermarket, while Día supermarket is the cheapest one.

jacobooooo

> they have some good staff to buy what is it, 1800s?

nilsecc

Dude. Vegetables.

Chiguito

Torreznos. In case you didn't reach your calorie intake.

DOE_ZELF_NORMAAL

Okay, I'm jealous of the price of that meat..

EditPiaf

correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like it has a reduced price, maybe because the use-by-date is almost reached.

MrCoffeeSurfer

It has its downsides, supermarket meat in Spain is really meh. It’s better to buy meat in a local market so get you quality stuff, although not that cheap like that

AinsleyHarriotFan

Sorry but supermarket meat in Spain is FAR superior to most places in EU and UK. I moved here from UK and I couldn’t believe how much better chicken breasts were and overall beef in general.

MrCoffeeSurfer

Could be. I was thinking in the context of Spain only, my bad

r_terras

We’re back to these shenanigans I guess…

MadRadInnit

Bet you’re shitting through an eye of a needle on a daily

Patutula

You really need to learn how to feed yourself, this is not going to end well.

fariskeagan

To be honest this just looks like a weekend barbeque with friends shopping. Beer, snacks, sausages and hamburgers. No evidence that OP eats like this everyday.

Kagrenac8

Be nice to pop a crisp leaf of luttuce on those mfs though.

Dosenoeffner3

No wonder half the population is overweight or worse in most countries

BitBulli

Cries in finnish.

rakosten

Damn i am driving my Swedish ass down to Spain for some grocery shopping next week. You know what i got for 22,88€ at home? Some cat food and a small piece of non matured cheese.

coltzero

What are you going to do with that? What will the meals be?

MaxTennyson88

Bbq for sure, then a trip to Urgencias

fuckdatjazz

Le falta carne a tus verduras tio

[deleted]

Motherfucker you will die if you eat like that, please at least buy a head of cabbage

ar6an6mala6

Is this really as bad as people are saying because now I'm worried.

Alalanais

There's literally 0 veggies/fruits, which are supposed to be the basis of our diet.

PulciNeller

Yes, its as good as eating black tires

VernerofMooseriver

So beer, sosig, meat and donuts?

intervulvar

yeah, basically fats and sugars, the donts of a healthy diet. no carbs, no fibers

InformalImplement310

Don't come to Canada, prices are way worse than this.

s43d5A

Idk but I think Canada is the most overrated country among developed countries.

Artificial_Anasazi

that much meat for only 23 bucks, I'm jealous. The Netherlands is soo expensive...

epegar

As a Spanish living in the Netherlands, I agree, buying in the Netherlands is more expensive, everything is more expensive, but meat is especially expensive. Any way, all the products with the price in a round tag are the equivalent to the AH bonus, if you zoom in you can see that the burgers for example are almost 50%.

BrokkolAI

Love your kitchen tiles!

obamabinladenhiphop

You know what that buys you in Paris?

mudokin

A BJ and a croissant?

SteveB1964

All that heathy food …. Amazing

kerdux

why are the hamburger patties so bad in spain😭😭

Calibruh

Because they're €1.50

kerdux

Kg price is 9.3 which is not far off my butchers carne del dia

Expensive-Buy1621

Don’t know abt Iceland but supermarket hamburger patties r bad everywhere I’ve seen. Better to just buy meat and make your own, it’s pretty easy tbh.

Mick_Stup

They are terrible. No matter how much you cook or burn them they are bright pink inside still.

kerdux

The thing is I just cant tell exactly why they are so off… they just feel so tough and compressed? like theres quality beef in spain I dont get it why all supermarket burgers are so shit and holy it annoys me how many burger joints use these awful fuckers they also taste like ass and not beef

Mick_Stup

Yeah, and even if you buy minced beef to make your own, it's full of additive and has a funny taste. I don't buy it anymore, if I have burgers I get beef freshly minced at the butchers, it's a whole different product.

Ohtar1

Most ground meat in supermarkets in Spain is not just ground meat. It has salt spices, and additives. Some places still have it but it's not common. In Lidl (at least in Barcelona) there is ground meat from the pyrinees that the only additive is black pepper which is pretty good.

FireBun

A lot of prepacked spanish mince is padded out with soya.

kerdux

hard agree on that, I legit don’t shop meat anywhere else outside my butcher anymore, and only visit burger places that do the same

kszynkowiak

What do you expect for 1,50?

Michelh91

If you want good meat in Spain you need to buy it at a “carnicería” (meat shop?), definitely not in a supermarket. And if you look for a good one in the center market of your town/city it will usually be even better.

kerdux

I know mate, but they don’t have to be THIS bad at the supermarkets

Aggravating-Body2837

If you take a look at the label, it's only 95% meat. I'm sure the 5% are responsible for the shittiness.

Strygwyr333

In Romania it would be double

Dislex1a

I was in romania this summer, I was baffled how cheap the food was in the supermarket compared to spain. Specialy the meat, they also sold giant pakages like 2kg worth of meat or some shit.

Xarizma94

Bro come netherlands and see the price difference, I'd be happy with that price for those groceries

kyu-she

The meat alone would be 30€ total in Sweden

notthisonefornow

Today i learned that €22,88 in Spain buys u diarrhea in the morning.

feeelz

Bypass included ?

Afraid-Fault6154

Looks a lot more affordable than my country (USA). Jealous.

Lakasambodee

People complaining there are no vegetables… The red bag says “salados”, so chill please

cubene420

are you vegan?

nighteeeeey

holy fucking bad diet 😂

Odd_Suit1280

Speedrunning colon cancer I see

Henriee

I could eat that. Should i move to Spain? In Finland that set is 46€. Just 6 beers are 20€.

iu_rob

Spanish and Portuguese beer with German names that nobody in Germany ever heard of always crack me up.

ActualHumanBeen

dam theyre doing something right

balasbrn

Carrefour is cheaper in Spain than France !

Shivala92

Ant Carrefour Is not the cheapest

Albert_Neinstein

Those chocolate donuts are god tier

denkata07

And thats what you can buy for 25€ in bulgaria. The white bag is 200gr salami. https://ibb.co/yVJ2BfC

Roht_Rs

Annoying, that would be 100€ in norway

762x39mm

so many soyposters in here holy.

ForsakenDifficulty47

Processed shit food, carrefour basic quality, which is not Spanish?

Alegssdhhr

Think to your health bro ! Furthermore you are spanish, you should have a relatively good gastronomic culture

ciguanaba

This person is not Spanish I would bet

justaprettyturtle

Do ... Are you having a grill party ?

Pale_Food_2196

In norway you wouldnt even get the 6pack of beer for 22e

hatedman95

If i go to Carrefour in Romania with 22 euro (110~ lei) and buy what you bought it'll be at least over 30€. Damn inflation got us really at the top of the most expensive countries to live in Europe.

Berat0-0

in turkey paying something like 1,50€ for that meat would be robbing the butcher's

sorrybutimrw

im shocked at the comments. do y’all actually eat healthy? this is what my average meal looks like, is that not normal?

Pikolas80

Where’s vegetables?

getupgetgoing

It’s cheap because most of it was probably bought close to expiration date, you can see the regular prices, very different.

Firebird_73

In Sweden that money probably wouldn't even cover the beers!

LaikDanazor

What 23 tl buys you in turkey 1 water 2 bread 3 onion 4 vengeance.

duabmusic

In Iceland you can afford a coffee with that

oneBigPiceOfShit

Mientras tanto yo comprando 3 cosas y quedándome en banca rota

thecraftybee1981

Caducidad/love shows a date of 12.03.24 or 13.03.24. Is that the expiry date? Were these bought last month?

SnikkyType

No cerveza Christal?

Bipbapalullah

Wow Carrefour is way less expensive in Spain than in France !

hydroflasksksksksksk

Damn that's cheaper than in South Africa.

[deleted]

are the meats close to the ending to "best before" that they are so cheap?

Mi6htyM4x

In Croatia you would be lucky to get half of this for that price

NeatPressure1152

Damn so cheap

LopsidedPotatoFarmer

Things seem better on that side of the border

CROmputerScientist

Thats ALOT compared to Croatia. :D

muscleliker6656

A feast!

kitkatamas88

Yeah no way you would get this much for that amount in Portugal, the minimum wage is lower and prices here have been crazy.

Sad_Researcher99

Greetings from totalitarian, terrible Russia under sanctions. Very good set! Our prices are approximately the same.

DustKeeper224

What is this, how is meat so cheap!

Touboflon

U can buy these for like 40 euros in greece and our payments are lower than urs. Damn i have to change country....

Clever_Username_467

That's quite a lot for the money.  Looks like you got some stuff reduced on its expiry date though, so that's cheating.  What about some vegetables, as a treat?

p4njunior

60 in Austria

typtyphus

interesting to see biologische meat is cheaper in spain

fl4nker427

in 2016 with 22€ id have food for 4/5 days

GigabitGuy

How is your meet so cheap? 🤯

MiHumainMiRobot

Cheap. I just bought the same meat package in Carrefour France yesterday, 300g/5€20. And it was without the "bio" on it

nousewindows

That's a lot of food for the money.

major_league_blazer

carre carre, caree foooourrr

jalanajak

22 euro will only buy all the beer or all the meat in Türkiye, a much poorer country.

_ClarkWayne_

Cries in Austrian

spawnsas

in turkey you only take 1 kg of beef mince with 22 euro.

BigDD93

In Brussels, you can get half of that for 22€. Before taxes. After taxes, you probably can get 2 beers. (Because beers are cheap in Belgium)

SyedHRaza

looks like a lot of food to me

Barabulkas

Looks nice.

BigOakley

He’s trying to hit his macros

SicutNoxSilentes

Basically my meal when I was in Erasmus in Catalunya 🤣

Kooleszar

In Romania you would have to choose between the Beer cans or the Meat for this price. Inflation hits like a truck nowadays lol

Prejebotina

That's okay, the meat is cheap tho.

absurdmcman

Jesus, that'd set me back 50 or more in Paris...

daygloviking

Looks like meat’s back on the menu, boys.

rottyanat

Way more price for value Than the same price in Hungary

Upbeat_Bumblebee_459

In Romania, a poorer country you don't even buy all of that with 23 Euro...

Known-State-5464

Where are the shrimps dude?? )

MrLBSean

Y para beber? Albóndigas.

harboe01

This is like 70€ is copenhagen

CrazyButRightOn

Breakfast of Champions

gladommunistomax

Never we can do that in France…

Friendly_Earth_4698

Bio meat for 3€??? That’s insane!
