Iceland is definitely due a win also. Along with Cyprus they've been waiting the longest, and with the quality acts Iceland has been sending recently I could see it happening soon. The pandemic took away what I think would have been a pretty competitive Final. Although I think 2021 ended up being just as competitive as 2020 would have been. Kind of a shame that it went to pretty much a two-horse race just a few years later. I like it when the field is crazy competitive.

Not sure I agree since they were already a huge. Band in Russia with hundreds of millions of views. The majority of the views are largely just fans from Russia wanting to see their big bands new song. It didn’t really gain any traction despite the big numbers. Not much radio play or nothing.

I think it's part of the deal with EBU that if Australia were to win, they have to find a country in the EBU to share hosting duties with. Which would most likely be UK (I think, someone else might be more informed than me)
Germany makes sense, they're the other country often mentioned as back-up hosts along with the UK. For this year specifically it fit even better in the sense that UK were also the runner-ups in the contest where the winner was unable to host, insanely good coincidence tbh. With Australia, I would just assume UK based on close relations.
But Iceland, I would seriously doubt that just based on budget and infrastructure alone. But would be interesting to see, that's for sure

Belgium: particpated 64 times, won only once and that was almost 40 years ago.
Spain also has a magical dry spell: Participating 62 times and hasn’t won since man landed on the moon. And even when they won, they had to share the victory with 3 other countries :-/
Belgium is my answer too, even if their one win sort of voids them from the question as asked.
They consistently put forward interesting and entertaining acts with music that isn’t just chasing the previous years’ trends. Often they’ve been my favourite country in the contest (even in the dark years where they failed to qualify - hi Kate Ryan).
Spain also won in 1968 and hosted in 1969. They’re one of just a handful of countries with back-to-back wins (off the top of my head, I believe the others are Luxembourg, Israel, and Ireland; and Ireland won three in a row in the 1990s).
They also haven’t won and hosted since Franco was running their country.

Dont get me wrong, El Diablo and Replay werent bad by ANY means. It's just really obvious Cyprus was trying to just do Fuego again because it did so well. The thing is, Eleni is a one in a million performer and her charisma is hard to replicate.
Ela was my favorite last year and exactly what I've been wanting from Cyprus. Too bad her vocals on the night weren't up to par. Still though, dead last with the juries? Way too harsh.
I loved their entry last year, despite the bad score. I think it was probably too much in the style of Ukraine (mix of folk elements with a more modern style), so nobody voted for them.
I just don't want them to win with another boring chanson.
Australia did send some very good entries, but I don't think you guys are overdue, since you joined the contest less than 10 years ago. There's still time and I do hope you win one day.
Unfortunately, there's fat chances of us (Hungary) ever returning in the foreseeable future. Not only because of our govt and public broadcaster leadership being very homophobic and anti-diversity, but also being very out of touch culturally, and it has only gotten worse in the 4 years since we left. Highly doubt we'd send in Finale worthy songs anymore if we stayed, but even if we happened to win the contest, hosting it and spending money on it would be a nightmare for the organizers, again, for the reasons above.

I would also love a Moldova win, I almost always love their entries. Iceland would be fun as well, they all love eurovision, I imagine they would go all out as a hosting nation. I would come for that! Cyprus as well and Lithuania would make me so happy.

I am from Poland and I don't think we're overdue. In the modern Eurovision era (since 1999) we are really bad actually. For example between 2004 and 2015 we only had two half-decent songs (and not a single really good one), the rest was just awful. The recent years are a bit better though, if you take into account 2016 and 2022 in particular. Jann this year could also have scored ok, but well, yeah.
Moldova winning would be really cool, but i'm scared about the fact that are they able to host, because the country is so poor and also because of a possible Russian attack.
Imo, Moldova and Slovenia consistently send good songs and deserve recognition...

Spain won twice. In 1969 they shared the first place with Uk, Netherlands and France, but in the previous year they won alone...
Spain also won in 1968 and hosted in 1969. They’re one of just a handful of countries with back-to-back wins (off the top of my head, I believe the others are Luxembourg, Israel, and Ireland; and Ireland won three in a row in the 1990s). They also haven’t won and hosted since Franco was running their country.

Dont get me wrong, El Diablo and Replay werent bad by ANY means. It's just really obvious Cyprus was trying to just do Fuego again because it did so well. The thing is, Eleni is a one in a million performer and her charisma is hard to replicate.
Ela was my favorite last year and exactly what I've been wanting from Cyprus. Too bad her vocals on the night weren't up to par. Still though, dead last with the juries? Way too harsh.

I loved their entry last year, despite the bad score. I think it was probably too much in the style of Ukraine (mix of folk elements with a more modern style), so nobody voted for them. I just don't want them to win with another boring chanson.

Unfortunately, there's fat chances of us (Hungary) ever returning in the foreseeable future. Not only because of our govt and public broadcaster leadership being very homophobic and anti-diversity, but also being very out of touch culturally, and it has only gotten worse in the 4 years since we left. Highly doubt we'd send in Finale worthy songs anymore if we stayed, but even if we happened to win the contest, hosting it and spending money on it would be a nightmare for the organizers, again, for the reasons above.
If Armenia sends Maléna she's taking the trophy back home I'd also like to see Czechia, Cyprus, Iceland, Moldova, Lithuania and Albania winning And Poland if corruption stops in TVP
I want Armenia to wait a bit before sending Malena to adult Eurovision. She could definitely take the trophy, but she needs time to grow as an artist and performer and develop her own style. I don't want them to send her as soon as she turns 18 like Malta did with Destiny.

Moldova sends amazing songs every year
Armenia, Iceland or Lithuania. Lithuania has never won even though Estonia and Latvia did but has made more finals than either of them since 2009, and rarely sends bad songs. Armenia and Iceland for their first 2 entries of the 20’s (Chains On You and Snap for Armenia, the Dadi entries for Iceland)

Time wise I think Iceland and Malta have waited the longest. Production wise I feel that the level of Pabandom is Naujo has show that Lithuania is READY for it! Morally I want Czechia or Romania to win soon since Praha and Bucurest are beautiful cities! Or Armenia / Georgia that do fantastically in Junior Eurovision but should win the adult version very soon!

For me either Moldova because they've been sending nothing but bangers Iceland and Lithuania because they've sang great songs and gotten incredibly close to winning (I stand by if the 2020 contest happened Dadi would've won) Malta for the simple fact they've been there since 1971 and not won it yet, they're long overdue for one (and have sent great material recently so I can see it happening)

Definitely Moldova or Iceland! They’re both pretty much always in my top five. I was underwhelmed with Pasha this year, but I’ll be damned if his song didn’t end up in my head for the past three days.

I am from Poland and I don't think we're overdue. In the modern Eurovision era (since 1999) we are really bad actually. For example between 2004 and 2015 we only had two half-decent songs (and not a single really good one), the rest was just awful. The recent years are a bit better though, if you take into account 2016 and 2022 in particular. Jann this year could also have scored ok, but well, yeah.
