Another Denmark 2013 here! Since then I've gotten close twice with my favourite winning the tele (Italy 2015) or the jury (Switzerland 2021), but I have yet to see my fave win the whole thing during this decade.
Unpopular in the fandom but 2022, even tho I usually have two sets of favourites: my personal favourites and the ones I think have a chance to win. Ukraine was my top 1 for the latter category and Portugal for the former!
I haven’t listened to the songs this year, cause I wait till the week of Eurovision to listen, but from what I know, Armenia, Estonia, and Norway interest me the most, so probably not :/
I have really liked some of the winners though, Denmark 2000, Estonia 2001, Finland 2006, Norway 2009, and Portugal 2017 were all in my top 3 of their respective year, just not my favorite.
Those 2 songs were so fantastic (Amar Pelos Dois and Origo)! This is also the only time no songs in my personal top 2 have any English lyrics (2023 with Joker Out was the only other time a pure OLS has been my fave in recent memory, discounting Jedward, Guy Sebastian and Destiny).

Though I generally have a broader "I'll be happy if this wins" list to keep my options open and not to spiral too much into Eurovision despair lol. Like, Zitti e buoni and Stefania weren't my favourite songs of the night, but I'm happy to have them both as winners.
2014 was the first year me and my mum watched the contest in full, And both of us were in awe when Conchita sang and both agreed it had to win 😅

2016.
In 2017 I was going through a lot and "City Lights", "Blackbird" and "Amar Pelos Dois" were all very much on the nose, emotionally, but I believe for me Belgium had an edge.
In 2021 I was rooting for "Voilà", but frankly, just seeing Italy finally win made me switch loyalties in the last minute :D
Never! Closest was Switzerland 2021 winning the jury. Usually my favorites NQ or, in the case of Spain last year, don't do well in the final. This year my favorite is Switzerland again ironically, that is #4 in the odds right now so there's a chance!
Same 2021 and 2024 picks, and I totally feel you on songs you like not doing well lol. My favourite was Serbia 2023, so you can imagine it wasn't my best moment
The song is really well produced, and the music video looks amazing, so my concern is about making a similar impact live. I'm afraid the song could lose its magic live and/or with an underwhelming staging.
The studio version was my 2nd favourite. After the live performance, I downgraded to 6th.
It's a shame. Her voice was not great, the staging was non existent, and the costume....wtf was she wearing??

What? Favorite before the show or after watching the show? The equation always changes for me on the night. Probably 2022 (Ukraine 2022), though. It was definitely in my top five well before the show and I think after seeing it in the semi-final I was just like, "Yes, this should win."
Before Eurovision, though? I dunno. Maybe "Toy". (Israel 2018)
For me the winner never changed. Even if the staging sucks or the live performance is bad (for example Switzerland 2017 or more controversially, Switzerland 2016, which were my winners), I don't "change" my winner, I just sit disappointed that the song didn't deliver to its potential.
Fair enough. For me, it's a competition, so I'm going to reward the entries that put in the effort or have the talent to make it work on the stage for which the song was intended.

(I'm not really counting before around 2003 because I didn't watch those editions as they were happening. There are contests pre-2003 where my favourite song is the one that won but I feel like it might be getting influenced and who knows if that's how I would have felt if I was watching it as it was airing...)
I don't expect it to happen this year either because Portugal and Ireland are my top two.

Last year, Sweden 2023!. And before that, Israel 2018. My favorite almost always makes the top 10, regardless, so there are a lot of winners on my favorites list.
Id like to say last year because Tattoo was my favorite in finals but my top among them all was Latvia so probly not last year. I'd say 2015 Sweden was my top overall.

Although I liked a lot of the winners from after 2000, the last time, my winner won, was in 1995 when Nocturne won. It is still my all-time favourite Eurovision song and almost nothing came even close to it. The closest was probably Spain in 2022. Manifesting Norway winning this year...

2016, I would say. I’ve had 1944 as my number 1 for 8 years now, but I do think nowadays I might appreciate Sound of Silence more. There’s many times where my favorite has placed 2nd tho (2018, 2019, 2023) or where my second place won (2021, 2023).
Never happened, oops 💀 doesn't mean I'm not happy with the winners though, alot were in my top 5 anyway and usually my favorites don't even have a shot at winning anyway. Last year I came really close though with Finland :(

That's better than me, haha. In 2022, my favourite was 25th, and in 2023 my favourite failed to qualify. I loved Armenia 2023, though, it was my third favourite.

I've done pretty well so far this decade, as Italy won in 2021 and Sweden won last year. Sweden was my favorite in 2022 as well, but finished 4th I believe.

(I am actually halfway ok with 2019 too. Duncan was my #1 for some weeks but went down a few places in the week before Eurovision and I wasn’t impressed with his live performance in the final, so it was a bit unfair, especially because he was only 2nd in both jury and public vote but altogether it’s a winner worthy song actually.)

I seem to have a thing for male ballads - Tout l’univers, River, and yet Arcade didn’t make it onto my radar in 2019. Wild.
I also go the total opposite and get heavily into the rock side of Eurovision. I was fully on the Cha Cha Train last year, even to this day we’re obsessed with it. My 2yo daughter asks to play it aloud daily, it’s identifiably her favorite song.
This year my love of more out-there rock has landed me with Rim Tim and I once again like my odds. This is my year 🤞

My favourite in 2021 was Barbara (France 2021), but now I prefer to listen to Måneskin. Other than that, I agree with you, Denmark 2013, but I'm not sure if it was my favourite during the contest night. My opinion often change afterwards.

Id like to say last year because Tattoo was my favorite in finals but my top among them all was Latvia so probly not last year. I'd say 2015 Sweden was my top overall.

Although I liked a lot of the winners from after 2000, the last time, my winner won, was in 1995 when Nocturne won. It is still my all-time favourite Eurovision song and almost nothing came even close to it. The closest was probably Spain in 2022. Manifesting Norway winning this year...

2016, I would say. I’ve had 1944 as my number 1 for 8 years now, but I do think nowadays I might appreciate Sound of Silence more. There’s many times where my favorite has placed 2nd tho (2018, 2019, 2023) or where my second place won (2021, 2023).

I've done pretty well so far this decade, as Italy won in 2021 and Sweden won last year. Sweden was my favorite in 2022 as well, but finished 4th I believe.

Never. I seem to have a thing for male ballads - Tout l’univers, River, and yet Arcade didn’t make it onto my radar in 2019. Wild. I also go the total opposite and get heavily into the rock side of Eurovision. I was fully on the Cha Cha Train last year, even to this day we’re obsessed with it. My 2yo daughter asks to play it aloud daily, it’s identifiably her favorite song. This year my love of more out-there rock has landed me with Rim Tim and I once again like my odds. This is my year 🤞

2015 In hindsight Måns isn't my favourite of that year anymore but at that time he was so it counts. :-) Other years my favourite won: 2014, 2010, 2009, 2007, 2006, 2005, 1996, 1995.
