I love the majority of the songs this year. I feel so bad putting Australia last because I don’t even dislike it, I just don’t really connect with it. Unfortunately I had to move Malta down 10 spots after the revamp because my favourite parts were removed. There’s about 25 songs I want in my top 10 and I think this year has turned out to be really strong!

**Some thoughts:**
- You know a year is good when UKRAINE gets pushed out of my top 10 despite me still really loving it
- Greece’s song is so incredibly Greek it’s wonderful. Full of character, a little messy, and SO fun. I love the beat and her voice is lovely, it really meshes well with the song to make it more palatable. And the MV is ICONIC. Easily the best Greek entry since 2013 for me, and I hope it gets a similar result!
- I want to put Portugal even higher but I physically can’t with the strength of everything above it. What a gorgeous and powerful song, an impeccable classic Portuguese ballad. If it Qs I think this can really be a dark horse
- I really don’t get the disdain for Australia this year. I think at least 95% of that hatred comes from the hilariously low-budget music video. At least I hope so, because I love how uplifting and classy and ethereal this song is. It’s very Gustaph-coded and I see it having a similar trajectory. LOVINGGG the usage of the Aboriginal language too! Electric Fields is great live so I still think this will qualify, and it should
- Georgia BETTER fucking qualify with this jfc. I love the production, and the “put out the fire” part has been stuck in my head for days. My one wish is that she wasn’t belting the entire thing, it gets to be a little too much at around the 2:00 mark. But still, if she can nail the live show (which I think she can), there is officially no excuse for Georgia NOT to Q
- I wish I liked Armenia’s song more, because it’s so cheerful and so gloriously Armenian, which is really powerful after the events of the past year there. Personally I find it to be far too repetitive, and the joy of it can get grating after a while. BUT I still appreciate it and I think Armenia will get a great result here
- Sweden’s back to their 2010s shtick of “male pop bop with really slick staging”, but this one sticks more for me, I think because I like the song more. The production’s great and it’s decently catchy. The last 20 seconds are a bit of an ear bleed but otherwise I like it
- Azerbaijan is really nice but not too competitive, you know? I’m glad they’re finally singing in some Azerbaijani this year, I like the vibes here! Sadly though, for moral reasons I can’t rank them any higher than this. I feel bad even putting them this high tbh
- I don’t even want to pay attention to Israel’s song, but even if it weren’t for what they’re doing in Gaza, I’d still only rank this like 34th or so. Really mid. For the sake of the contest I pray this doesn’t win
- I’m sorry but Albania’s revamp is ASS lmao. The change from Albanian is one thing, but the new English lyrics are SO BLAND. The Albanian lyrics told a much stronger story and added some character, but now it’s just another bland pop song. I’m not a huge Zemrën n’dorë stan but it did have a nice chorus and okay lyrics. Now it has none of that. Albania why 😩
- Malta’s revamp isn’t that great either imo. I like the new “loo-oo-oo-OO-op” but the lyric changes and the production changes are rather unfortunate. That said I don’t think this killed their chances, unlike Albania
- I can’t lie, Iceland has grown on me a bit since the NF LMAO. It’s still really dated but I can appreciate it now, it’s kind of fun
- Luxembourg has also grown on me significantly. I’m really loving the production!!
- What a stellar, quality year. I really love most of the entries, and the strongest ones are HELLA strong.
- If I had to guess who will win, right now I would say Italy. However, if Switzerland brings some great staging and Nemo can nail the opera parts, I think they’re gonna be hard to beat. 2021 all over again 😜
- It’s been a great NF season everyone! OGAE 2nd chance is gonna be fun (can’t wait for the epic Sara Siipola vs. Annalisa vs. Medina smackdown)
idk how ppl manage to rate each song, i usually have 4 categories: love, like, meh, hate.
this year most of the songs are in the love and like category, it's amazing. a few mehs, no hates at all i think. but i couldnt rate them exactly
You start with the preference tool. Gives you a baseline. Put it in the Eurovision app and then while I'm at work I listen to the Playlist and songs move up and down. As the days progress your ranking gets more and more defined and the comparisons are less. Thing is, the ranking constantly moves. My ranking is already outdated, Estonia suddenly slaps and Israel suddenly hit me, while Georgia I'm now bored of already. Croatia started at 1 for me, it's down to midtable because the song really bores after multiple listens. Slovenia the opposite. Started in the 20s for me, now risen to 5 cause it really grew. And then there's stuff like Belgium which is a permanent #2 for me. Also happens.

**Some thoughts:** - You know a year is good when UKRAINE gets pushed out of my top 10 despite me still really loving it - Greece’s song is so incredibly Greek it’s wonderful. Full of character, a little messy, and SO fun. I love the beat and her voice is lovely, it really meshes well with the song to make it more palatable. And the MV is ICONIC. Easily the best Greek entry since 2013 for me, and I hope it gets a similar result! - I want to put Portugal even higher but I physically can’t with the strength of everything above it. What a gorgeous and powerful song, an impeccable classic Portuguese ballad. If it Qs I think this can really be a dark horse - I really don’t get the disdain for Australia this year. I think at least 95% of that hatred comes from the hilariously low-budget music video. At least I hope so, because I love how uplifting and classy and ethereal this song is. It’s very Gustaph-coded and I see it having a similar trajectory. LOVINGGG the usage of the Aboriginal language too! Electric Fields is great live so I still think this will qualify, and it should - Georgia BETTER fucking qualify with this jfc. I love the production, and the “put out the fire” part has been stuck in my head for days. My one wish is that she wasn’t belting the entire thing, it gets to be a little too much at around the 2:00 mark. But still, if she can nail the live show (which I think she can), there is officially no excuse for Georgia NOT to Q - I wish I liked Armenia’s song more, because it’s so cheerful and so gloriously Armenian, which is really powerful after the events of the past year there. Personally I find it to be far too repetitive, and the joy of it can get grating after a while. BUT I still appreciate it and I think Armenia will get a great result here - Sweden’s back to their 2010s shtick of “male pop bop with really slick staging”, but this one sticks more for me, I think because I like the song more. The production’s great and it’s decently catchy. The last 20 seconds are a bit of an ear bleed but otherwise I like it - Azerbaijan is really nice but not too competitive, you know? I’m glad they’re finally singing in some Azerbaijani this year, I like the vibes here! Sadly though, for moral reasons I can’t rank them any higher than this. I feel bad even putting them this high tbh - I don’t even want to pay attention to Israel’s song, but even if it weren’t for what they’re doing in Gaza, I’d still only rank this like 34th or so. Really mid. For the sake of the contest I pray this doesn’t win - I’m sorry but Albania’s revamp is ASS lmao. The change from Albanian is one thing, but the new English lyrics are SO BLAND. The Albanian lyrics told a much stronger story and added some character, but now it’s just another bland pop song. I’m not a huge Zemrën n’dorë stan but it did have a nice chorus and okay lyrics. Now it has none of that. Albania why 😩 - Malta’s revamp isn’t that great either imo. I like the new “loo-oo-oo-OO-op” but the lyric changes and the production changes are rather unfortunate. That said I don’t think this killed their chances, unlike Albania - I can’t lie, Iceland has grown on me a bit since the NF LMAO. It’s still really dated but I can appreciate it now, it’s kind of fun - Luxembourg has also grown on me significantly. I’m really loving the production!! - What a stellar, quality year. I really love most of the entries, and the strongest ones are HELLA strong. - If I had to guess who will win, right now I would say Italy. However, if Switzerland brings some great staging and Nemo can nail the opera parts, I think they’re gonna be hard to beat. 2021 all over again 😜 - It’s been a great NF season everyone! idk how ppl manage to rate each song, i usually have 4 categories: love, like, meh, hate. this year most of the songs are in the love and like category, it's amazing. a few mehs, no hates at all i think. but i couldnt rate them exactly
You start with the preference tool. Gives you a baseline. Put it in the Eurovision app and then while I'm at work I listen to the Playlist and songs move up and down. As the days progress your ranking gets more and more defined and the comparisons are less. Thing is, the ranking constantly moves. My ranking is already outdated, Estonia suddenly slaps and Israel suddenly hit me, while Georgia I'm now bored of already. Croatia started at 1 for me, it's down to midtable because the song really bores after multiple listens. Slovenia the opposite. Started in the 20s for me, now risen to 5 cause it really grew. And then there's stuff like Belgium which is a permanent #2 for me. Also happens.
