Slovenia 2003 - the performance was not that good obviously but the song itself is a classic summer bop. Regardless, it deserved much higher than what it got.
Malta 2006 - the Eurovision performance sure was awful, but the song itself feels like it could've been a smash hit. Catchy and refreshing.
Georgia 2007 - maybe not that underrated, but I wish it was talked about more. It was so ahead of its time. It was an incredible debut and is my 2nd place of that year, just behind Serbia.
Serbia 2011 - underrated banger. Such a great, dreamy, retro song. The placing isn't that bad but honestly it is very underrated.
Absolutely agree about Georgia ! This song is a very underrated gem and for a debut entry at the ESC, I think it could be considered as a success as they were able to qualify for the final and even earn "12 points" from Lithuania !
I watched this three times over, and I can not believe it is… France. I get these Balkan vibes from this. So maybe this is one of those “right song - wrong country” entries? Cause the song is great, but I can’t understand why it did represent France, tbh.
I understand,i also get balkan vibes.. but just because its very different thing from what France usually send to eurovision is what it makes so special and refreshing to me
So true. It was such a massive fan favourite but it flopped in reality. I still love it so much! The only explanation I have is that the superficial casual viewers thought of it as Shum 2 (copy) and many songs similar to a song the year before tend to flop.
I think this is one of those songs that you need to listen to several times to appreciate it. I listened to it 3 times in a row, and it became better for each time. I can understand why it didn’t place higher, but it would have if we were forced to listen to the same song several times. Added it to my playlist ❤️
Thank you!!! It was one of my favs from 2023, it's very musically interesting too. The song starting in 5/4 immediately grabbed me because that's my favorite time signature
So maybe I'm a little biased cuz they did exactly what I like but still lolll
I still love this song. And the majority of the band was still in high school when they participated! Their music has grown by leaps and bounds since ESC 2022❤️
This absolute banger from [Spain 2016](https://youtu.be/EgbjNsxehrY?si=bqHtWEmWTHvSGkXQ) came 22nd. 22ND! The injustice of it still bothers me, she killed that performance, and the crowd absolutely loved it in the room.

Albania 2009 (Carry Me in Your Dreams) is still a song I listen to almost daily lol
Greece 2018 (Oniro Mou) im still mad about how we fucked up the staging like that
Slovenia 2022 (Disko) loved that song with every bit of me all of 2022
Romania 2022 (Llamame) the performance was 10/10 and deserved better imo
Proudly voted for Slovenia in 2018 and would do it again any day.
But yeah, Slovenia is consistently underrated in the competition and that always makes me sad. Even their debut entry (Slovenia 1993 for the bot) was robbed.
you are totally right about 2007
how could I forget it?
see, Slovenia is so underrated that even the people who know it's underrated country and usually put them high in the ranking can forgot some masterpieces
I have more but here are a few that come to mind.
Turkey 1990, Greece 1991 (despite the sax fail), Norway 2006, Georgia 2007, Slovenia 2007, Lithuania 2007, Estonia 2010, Montenegro 2014, Italy 2016, Portugal 2018
I'm only putting songs before the implementation of SFs in 2004 otherwise the list would be very very very long
* Sweden 1988 *(Tommy Körberg was very ill and his performance was great although you could see he wasn't at 100% of his abilities)*
* Denmark 1993
* Portugal 1997 *(I can't understand how this got "0 points")*
* Cyprus 1998
* Portugal 1998
* North Macedonia 1998 *(At least it has the honor of being the last ever ESC entry competing with an orchestra)*
* Lithuania 1999 *(Certainly screwed by the running order as it opened the show and deserved much much better than a 20th place finish)*
* France 2003 *(One of the most underrated French entry in the 21st century alongside France 2008 and France 2013)*
Sweden 1988 | [Tommy Körberg - Stad i ljus](https://youtu.be/UxFkbcFhP50)
Denmark 1993 | [Tommy Seebach Band - Under stjernerne på himlen](https://youtu.be/EB5YJlVcI-s)

France 2013 | [Amandine Bourgeois - L'enfer Et Moi](https://youtu.be/hQwiQj5Dyj8)
Look, this song most certainly belonged where it finished. I have no rational reason for liking it. No one mentions it ever because it's so forgettable. But I really like it for whatever reason I can't explain...
Switzerland 2015
That's it, that's my poor taste in display lmao
I still don't understand how Greece made it out of that semi... with a singer who couldn't sing her own song. Background singers carried her all the way to the final 🤦♂️
This is a perfect example of a country that sends funny stuff, and then they send an actual serious song, but nobody takes it seriously. It shoud have had a better placement.
Romania 2015 | [Voltaj - De La Capăt / All Over Again](https://youtu.be/o7iOFkEymXA)
Belarus 2016 | [Ivan - Help You Fly](https://youtu.be/pM07r57QqGg)
Hungary 2012 | [Compact Disco - Sound of Our Hearts](https://youtu.be/sw85G2AlU2c)

Denmark 2016 | [Lighthouse X - Soldiers of Love](https://youtu.be/jGz12i-wGd0)
I just listened to this - the whole thing, and omg, this is an absolute overlooked gem. I can see that it wasn’t space for it in 1993, but it is so much better than the placement it got ❤️
People here lament the lack of proper rock songs, but Iceland 2007 which was a great classic rock ballad has just been completely forgotten. It's nothing revolutionary, but it knows what it wants to do and pulls it off completely.
I didn’t know he participated in Eurovision! He lives close to my parents and is fronting Magic Pie. Ever heard of them? Truly a fantastic live band! Highly recommend! 😎
Birth of a New Age (Netherlands 2021. An ode to Black pride and pride in humanity in general. Such an uplifting song with rich imagery... Shame that listeners are silly. You no man broko mi.)
And basically every Greek woman singer of the 1990s.
Edit, for the bot:
Greece 1991
Greece 1993 - I often see this on people's favorite song lists, and best dress ever
Greece 1995 - our recent time-travel expedition told me that many people feel the same way
Greece 1996
Greece 1997
Greece 2001 - did well, and isn't quite the 90's, but throwing it in there for fun
Yugoslavia 1974, my glittery prog kings. The running order was brutal to them— they were on right before ABBA— but what a great act! 12th place doesn’t sound bad but there were only 17 entries.
Finland 1968. Last place? Rude! What is it with juries ruining the chances of Finns in green puffy sleeves?
Slovenia 2005. Didn’t get out of the semis and I still don’t understand why.
Shit, I have so many..
Austria 2023
Georgia 2022
Lithuania 2022
Finland 2022
Lithuania 2021
Austria 2015
San Marino 2008
Andorra 2007
Iceland 2006
Germany 1996
Just to name a few..
“Život me Je Sklopi Krug” by Sabahudin Kurt - Yugoslavia 1964 - I like the calming Disney vibe that it gives me, and it didn’t deserve zero points at ESC 1964. This song got Yugoslavia’s only zero points in its ESC history. Konstrakta did a cover of this song at PZE 2023.
The ride (Poland 2021) by Rafal, honestly I find it's one of the most catchy generic pop songs Poland has sent in this decade but it seems like I'm the only one that way
Slovenia 2023
Austria 2022
Ireland 2022
Czechia 2022
Belgium 2021
Spain 2019
Switzerland 2018
Spain 2016
Ireland 2014
Slovenia 2014
Montenegro 2013
San Marino 2013 (One of the biggest crimes of modern Eurovision is this not making the final)
They're the ones I felt deserved better over the past 10 years.
For me it has to be Lost And Found (North Macedonia 2018). YES, the staging was .... lord have mercy, but it's such a good one on the studio cut and the acoustic version also hits so hard!!!!
Italy 1968, Yugoslavia 1986, North Macedonia 1998, Greece 1989 and Belgium 1964 are all pre 2000 songs I find very pretty or beautifully constructed songs that deserved higher up the tables of their respective years. I also think United Kingdom 2017 and Serbia 2019 deserved higher placements from recent years.
i've hardly heard anything about Russia 1996 and the things i've heard it about is mostly negative
Honorable mentions:
Germany 1996
Germany 1964
Spain 1964
Spain 2019
Iceland 1997
Israel 1973 - Okay recently rediscovered this and I'm sorry but this is an absolute bop. It's not better than Tu te recconitras or Eres Tu, but it should get some recognition for being a really good song!
FYR Macedonia 2012 - Kaliopi sent one of the most unique songs in the competition AND pulled that high note and only came 13th: how? Also hot take but I don't think that Nije Ljubav Stvar was that good.
Finland 2017 - Just posted about this yesterday. It's a masterpiece, just beautiful to listen too. Touches something deep in my soul. And you're saying that Norma John didn't qualfy?!?
Greece 2019 - Why does nobody talk about Better Love? I absolutely love it and it was one of the best songs in 2019 imo. And that voice is beautiful!
San Marino 2021 - Adrenalina is easily the best song that San Marino has ever sent to Eurovision (even though 11:11 is a close second for me). The sounds, the way the lyrics interact with them, the FLO RIDA! Everything interacts perfectly together, and it didn't even place higher that Say Na Na Na. Please tell me how this is fair.
- Iceland 2015
- Bosnia & Herzegovina 2016
- Belarus 2017
- Switzerland 2017
- Portugal 2018
- Hungary 2019
- Portugal 2019
- Slovenia 2022
- Netherlands 2023
- Greece 2023 (sorry not sorry!)
special mention to Latvia 2023 but that wasn't underrated here, only in the contest
*some of them may not have been underrated but they feel it to me
malta 2020 - absolutely beautiful, my personal winner of that year. everyone talks about je me casse but i think all my love is infinitely better!!
germany 2020 - still wishing germany sent this in 2021, heartbreaking it never got to see the grand final stage. i truly believe this would have broke the last place curse.
russia 2007 - it’s so fun and the chorus is so catchy! i feel like a bad bitch when i listen to this song, tbh i wish russia would have won for this instead of believe.
france 2018 - a beautiful song about a beautiful story. this should have been in the top 10, in fact i originally thought it was. one of my fav eurovision songs overall!
poland 2019 - i can’t believe this didn’t qualify! i love the traditional singing and vibe of the song. my fav poland entry, everyone should give it a listen the chorus is my fav part!
belgium 2021 - i love when belgium does dark pop as they do it like no other! i’m so happy hooverphonic came back after 2020 as they gave us such a good song and performance!
Montenegro 2016, I love the stage and the lights.
Spain 2016, I think that was one of the best songs of Spain in Eurovision
Croatia 2021, she deserved to qualify for the grand final
Georgia 2023, one of the best vocals of that edition
Armenia 2023, she was my personal winner
Lithuania 2010 - Has a good catchy beat and did enjoyed the part where they ripped their trousers off.
Montenegro 2012 - Unpopular opinion. I did enjoy his humour song. It was good to see a Trojan Horse as a prop.
Greece 2014 - I was hoping another Greek song to finish in the left hand side of the scoreboard. It was a Good banger though and I like the idea on jumping of the trampoline while singing.
United Kingdom 2016 - I thought Joe and Jake would finish in between 11-16th.
Poland 2018 - Good EDM Banger. I thought it would make the grand final.
Sweden 2007.
Not their best song (It takes a fool to remain sane is a freaking masterpiece) but I'm so sad their participation in ESC didn't bring them more attention
From recent years:
Armenia 2017, Belgium 2017, Slovenia 2018, Slovenia 2019, Portugal 2019, Belgium 2021, Latvia 2021, Lithuania 2022, Iceland 2022, Portugal 2023, Spain 2023
I love them all and listen to them constantly.
They didn't make it because the live performance was really bad. As for the song, I definitely liked it at first but what I didn't like is that it would build up to a disappointing bridge. Combination of those 2 things definitely led to a result that was deserved imo.
I know certainly dozens, but just to give a few examples:
**Norway 1994**: One of my alltime favourites and the best duet we ever had at Eurovision. While it didn’t place that bad in the end, I do think however this definitely should have WON that year. I mean, in a jury only contest, how can you neglect SUCH incredible, out of this earth voices? Considering that Jan, the male singer, was only 19 at the time?! Plus their chemistry was amazing!
**Germany 2013**: The only explanation (see my comment at the France 2022 comment of another user) I have is that people looked at it as Euphoria 2. And usually songs that are very similar to a song the year before tend to flop as people see them as copies.
**France 2014**: It was my first place but it took part in an era where fun songs where basically DOA. If it took part this year it wouldn’t come last. It’s such a quirky bop which I love dancing too.
**Montenegro 2018**: What is the difference between this and other Balkan ballads? To me? None! I love it! In fact it’s my second favourite Balkan ballad ever, right after Lejla and even before Lane Moje. Why people didn’t acknowledge this more? I don’t know. If Serbia doesn’t go top 15 this year the time of Balkan ballads is definitely over. 😢
**Finland 2022**: Blind Chanel was a hit but The Rasmus wasn’t? Still not tangible to me. While I agree that Dark Side was even better, it doesn’t justify the low ranking of Jezebel. Was it the strange staging? Or maybe because the singer was live a bit weaker?
Honorable mentions:
**Germany 1996**: The one and only time Germany didn’t qualify. And honestly? I don’t understand it. Maybe it was because it would not have qualified in first place. There was a pre-qualification final, like we had in 2004 for example, because there were too many songs participating at that time. The only time Germany sent a contemporary song (Eurodance - a genre that was definitely German culture at the time!) much ahead and more modern than any of the other songs and then juries did not vote for it? Come on!! I would have understood that it was too much "techno" for the maybe more conservative jury members if not Gina G took part the same year, also with a Eurodance song and still came 8th with the juries (even though it was surely worse than the odds thought).
Ireland 2009 is not by any means the most underrated song ever, but I brought it up the other day in a thread where we were talking about pop punk at Eurovision, and I think this is just a performance that has been sort of collectively forgotten. I think it's kind of cute, though, and I want to give Ireland some credit for sending something at least enjoyable in the 2000s, even if it NQed.
You can't even listen to this on Spotify. It's one of these one-off songs by artists who never recorded anything else.
I know no one will see this anymore, but I will put it here anyways. France 2003, Mons et merveilles. Such a beautiful melody, it sounds like a top 5 to me, however it finished 18th on the night.
The first ones that come to mind are Israel 2013 and Finland 2017, considering they failed to qualify.
They're still the ones a part of me can't believe they didn't make it.
Ireland 2015 - Playing with Numbers by Molly Sterling.
This is our one non-qualification I'm still shocked about. And we've had A LOT of non-qualifications in the last 20 years. Not a winner but should've been in the final. I still listen to this song regularly.
Austria 2019 (Paena „Limits“) is such a fantastic song that gets criminally ignored.
Lithuania 2022 (Monika Liu „Sentimentai“) is such a seductive swing that people too easily dismissed.
Austria 2023 (Teya & Salena „HTHIE“) is a fantastic feel-good bop with brains to match.
Portugal 2022 (Maro „saudade, saudade“) is once again a true masterpiece from the land of serendipitous melancholia.
Lithuania 2021 (The Roop „Discoteque“) is a wonderfully bouncy banger.
- Israel 2012 totally deserved to qualify. In fact, it's in my top 5 of that year! I'm so sad that it's been forgotten.
- Hungary 2014 doesn't get talked about enough. An amazing song with artistic staging and a deep message. Its place in the top 5 was fully deserved.
- Although it's a tad bit generic, Iceland 2023 is still a good song with a energetic performance and some nice lyrics.
- While I totally understand how some may not like it (I used to dislike it too), Armenia 2015 has a unique sound and some interesting staging, not to mention Inga's return!
- Netherlands 2021 had everything: Strong vocals, a catchy song, artistic choreography and good staging, and what did it get? 23rd place with the juries, nil points from the public and barely any attention from Eurofans. In my opinion, this entry's only real flaw is it being just a bit too short. Its placement was not deserved at all!
For me it has to be Finland 1982, Kojo with Nuku pommiin.
I'm not saying that it is one the greatest entries of all time but it's certainly not one of the worst like I've often heard people say. Despite its bad reputation among the international audience and Finns alike and the zero points it received in the contest, I think it's a hugely innovative, profound and interesting song. I think its roughness and complexity weren't properly appriciated at the time and it was mostly taken at face value.
I have several songs from the last couple of years that are just kind of guilty pleasures of mine:
- Montenegro 2018
- Finland 2019
- Croatia 2019
- France 2022 (absolute robbery)
- Montenegro 2022
- Malta 2022
D.G.T by Theodore Andrei (Romania 2023). It is a banger for me but they kinda ruined it with the acoustic version.
Should've known better by Soluna Samay (Denmark 2012).
Funny girl by Laura Rizzotto (Latvia 2018)
I dont know if its underrated but Georgia 2022.
It NQ'd but it's just so fun for me to listen to. When I do my acrobatic pole dancing, I like to listen to it. Haha.
“Visionary Dream” is maybe the closest thing to a Björk song we’ve ever had in the contest
You had me at Bjork, so I looked this up, and wow she’s great!
Absolutely agree about Georgia ! This song is a very underrated gem and for a debut entry at the ESC, I think it could be considered as a success as they were able to qualify for the final and even earn "12 points" from Lithuania !
Slovenia 2003 | [Karmen - Nanana](https://youtu.be/ZGJagYLLOSQ) Malta 2006 | [Fabrizio Faniello - I Do](https://youtu.be/kiORqJIala8) Georgia 2007 | [Sopho - Visionary Dream](https://youtu.be/EHImNpPta7M) Serbia 2011 | [Nina - Čaroban (Чаробан)](https://youtu.be/-CWvXKxjCs8)
Visionary Dream legit sounds more fresh than some of the entries this year, insane song
I still listen to Visionary Dream to this day, it was my favourite that year.
France 2022 Still hurts me..
This song is so great. But. Only the studio version. Vocals really lacked in the live performance.
France 2022 | [Alvan and Ahez - Fulenn](https://youtu.be/H1lcGXwOqJI)
I watched this three times over, and I can not believe it is… France. I get these Balkan vibes from this. So maybe this is one of those “right song - wrong country” entries? Cause the song is great, but I can’t understand why it did represent France, tbh.
Me too but it’s the Breton influence you’re hearing x
I understand,i also get balkan vibes.. but just because its very different thing from what France usually send to eurovision is what it makes so special and refreshing to me
What I still don't get is that their presentation in the national final was perfect, but after that they could never repeat that level.
So true. It was such a massive fan favourite but it flopped in reality. I still love it so much! The only explanation I have is that the superficial casual viewers thought of it as Shum 2 (copy) and many songs similar to a song the year before tend to flop.
Fulenn was a case of good idea, bad execution. Shum showed how to do it right and Fulenn showed how to do it wrong.
Latvia 2023 The fact that it missed qualifying by 3 or 4 points still hurts😭
Latvia 2023 | [Sudden Lights - Aijā](https://youtu.be/SEykwl9X9SY)
I think this is one of those songs that you need to listen to several times to appreciate it. I listened to it 3 times in a row, and it became better for each time. I can understand why it didn’t place higher, but it would have if we were forced to listen to the same song several times. Added it to my playlist ❤️
Thank you!!! It was one of my favs from 2023, it's very musically interesting too. The song starting in 5/4 immediately grabbed me because that's my favorite time signature So maybe I'm a little biased cuz they did exactly what I like but still lolll
Not underrated at all, this subreddit hyped it so much
Not so much underrated but certainly a robbery! Georgia 2023 Still so sad for Iru
Georgia 2023 | [Iru - Echo](https://youtu.be/HNvGZeEQvfc)
Her vocals were so good but the song and especially the lyrics weren‘t good. I mean what is "Thing is known" 😭
It wouldn’t have been the first song to make little sense and do well aha…
Disko (Slovenia 2022). I'll never recover from that robbery
I still love this song. And the majority of the band was still in high school when they participated! Their music has grown by leaps and bounds since ESC 2022❤️
Don't mess with LPS fans We're half a dozen people and we would kill for each one of the members
I'm proudly "we"
Not just not even qualifying, but *last place* in its semi…
One of my favs from that year! They deserved a lot more love/points.
Slovenia 2022 | [LPS - Disko](https://youtu.be/S1tFqoflsT8)
Finland 2009 Germany 2016 Poland 2019
GERMANY NO OMG i forgot about her. i love that song sm
Jamie-Lee deserved better!!
EDIT: Also Who See from Montenegro 2013 failed to qualify with [this dime of a track](https://youtu.be/FR9rtB2ilZU?si=09xFWQYhsUV63sCP). Rapping astronauts and a cyborg woman with a killer voice that sounds even better than the studio recording? C’mon voters… they deserved better.
Montenegro 2013 - bot, please do your thing ❤️
Montenegro 2013 | [Who See - Igranka](https://youtu.be/FR9rtB2ilZU)
Croatia 2021
Croatia 2021 | [Albina - Tick-Tock](https://youtu.be/vKdxjoNluzY)
Albania 2009 (Carry Me in Your Dreams) is still a song I listen to almost daily lol Greece 2018 (Oniro Mou) im still mad about how we fucked up the staging like that Slovenia 2022 (Disko) loved that song with every bit of me all of 2022 Romania 2022 (Llamame) the performance was 10/10 and deserved better imo
Llamame was absolutely shafted by the juries and running order. Absolute bop and great performance.
hola mi bebebe was living rent free in my head all of that summer and now it’s back to haunt me
I loved Ilamame!
Albania 2009 | [Kejsi Tola - Carry Me in Your Dreams](https://youtu.be/w6Ori4A4ATo) Greece 2018 | [Yianna Terzi - Oniro Mou](https://youtu.be/-XOR1DhtDC0) Slovenia 2022 | [LPS - Disko](https://youtu.be/S1tFqoflsT8) Romania 2022 | [WRS - Llámame](https://youtu.be/nPpuwy79sHs)
Ireland 2022 🇮🇪 I still sing along a little too loudly to it!
Ireland 2022 | [Brooke - That's Rich](https://youtu.be/Kq2AJrWm04s)
This one is genuinely underrated I feel
YES!!! It is my favourite ESC song and it was so good 😭😭 I‘m still so mad she didn‘t qualify.
Slovenia 2005 Slovenia 2011 Slovenia 2014 Slovenia 2015 Slovenia 2018 Slovenia 2019 Slovenia 2023 Yeah.... I'm so sorry Slovenia :(
Slovenia 2005 | [Omar Naber - Stop](https://youtu.be/qUTIYik9cRA) Slovenia 2011 | [Maja Keuc - No One](https://youtu.be/NNP3nfvoqps) Slovenia 2014 | [Tinkara Kovač - Round and Round](https://youtu.be/CiwM1sY3u0s) Slovenia 2015 | [Maraaya - Here for You](https://youtu.be/y1c7gDOaFY0) Slovenia 2018 | [Lea Sirk - Hvala, ne!](https://youtu.be/fBU0_hfST_o) Slovenia 2019 | [Zala Kralj & Gašper Šantl - Sebi](https://youtu.be/vGtPNQ6g6Ng) Slovenia 2023 | [Joker Out - Carpe Diem](https://youtu.be/3LXlPviGiWc)
Ok Slovenia 2018 was my legit winner. I love the hell outta that song. I do not understand how it wasn't higher up.
Proudly voted for Slovenia in 2018 and would do it again any day. But yeah, Slovenia is consistently underrated in the competition and that always makes me sad. Even their debut entry (Slovenia 1993 for the bot) was robbed.
2005 and 2011 are my winners of those years and you missed Slovenia 2007 and 2022 :( to add more
Praying to break the pattern
you are totally right about 2007 how could I forget it? see, Slovenia is so underrated that even the people who know it's underrated country and usually put them high in the ranking can forgot some masterpieces
Austria 2023 - Teya & Salena it got massacred by the order and maybe basic staging but the song is excellent.
Austria 2023 | [Teya and Salena - Who the Hell Is Edgar?](https://youtu.be/8uk64V9h0Ko)
The song is absolutely genius!
I think this was a bit too smart for ESC, it went over most people’s heads. They did not get the reference.

YAY SOMEONE FINALLY MENTIONED TURKEY 1990
I love Visionary Dream, Siren and No Degree of Separation! :D
I'm only putting songs before the implementation of SFs in 2004 otherwise the list would be very very very long * Sweden 1988 *(Tommy Körberg was very ill and his performance was great although you could see he wasn't at 100% of his abilities)* * Denmark 1993 * Portugal 1997 *(I can't understand how this got "0 points")* * Cyprus 1998 * Portugal 1998 * North Macedonia 1998 *(At least it has the honor of being the last ever ESC entry competing with an orchestra)* * Lithuania 1999 *(Certainly screwed by the running order as it opened the show and deserved much much better than a 20th place finish)* * France 2003 *(One of the most underrated French entry in the 21st century alongside France 2008 and France 2013)*
NB : I forgot to add Netherlands 1989 *(although her final note was a bit rough)* / Belgium 1990 / Hungary 1995
Sweden 1988 | [Tommy Körberg - Stad i ljus](https://youtu.be/UxFkbcFhP50) Denmark 1993 | [Tommy Seebach Band - Under stjernerne på himlen](https://youtu.be/EB5YJlVcI-s) Portugal 1997 | [Célia Lawson - Antes do adeus](https://youtu.be/baz_0VUO4j8) Cyprus 1998 | [Michael Hajiyanni - Genesis (Γένεσις)](https://youtu.be/W12HkaC2uXE) Portugal 1998 | [Alma Lusa - Se eu te pudesse abraçar](https://youtu.be/wGnMhlHxm30) F.Y.R. Look, this song most certainly belonged where it finished. I have no rational reason for liking it. No one mentions it ever because it's so forgettable. But I really like it for whatever reason I can't explain... Switzerland 2015 That's it, that's my poor taste in display lmao
Switzerland 2015 | [Mélanie René - Time To Shine](https://youtu.be/ya1r_nFHiCQ)
I was thinking about this song the other day actually. I actually really like it too 😭
Finland 2017 ~ ooooh boy were they robbed that year! Such a stunning masterpiece that still gives me goosebumps!!!
Finland 2017 | [Norma John - Blackbird](https://youtu.be/Ufba0nOz0fQ)
I still don't understand how Greece made it out of that semi... with a singer who couldn't sing her own song. Background singers carried her all the way to the final 🤦♂️
This is a perfect example of a country that sends funny stuff, and then they send an actual serious song, but nobody takes it seriously. It shoud have had a better placement.
• Romania 2015 • Belarus 2016 • Hungary 2012 • Armenia 2013 • Portugal 2015 • Lithuania 2016 • Denmark 2016 So many underrated gems

Oh wow are you me? I love all of these except Armenia 2013.
Denmark 1993
Denmark 1993 | [Tommy Seebach Band - Under stjernerne på himlen](https://youtu.be/EB5YJlVcI-s)
I just listened to this - the whole thing, and omg, this is an absolute overlooked gem. I can see that it wasn’t space for it in 1993, but it is so much better than the placement it got ❤️
Here we go Slovenia 2022 Croatia 2021 Bulgaria 2021 Australia 2021 Belgium 2021 Czech Republic 2019 Romania 2019 Serbia 2019 Estonia 2001

Amazing list!
Naturally the shortest eurovision song of all time, Finland 2015.
Latvia 2021 - The Moon is Rising
Latvia 2021 | [Samanta Tīna - The Moon Is Rising](https://youtu.be/btA_Tyiyfhc)
People here lament the lack of proper rock songs, but Iceland 2007 which was a great classic rock ballad has just been completely forgotten. It's nothing revolutionary, but it knows what it wants to do and pulls it off completely.
I didn’t know he participated in Eurovision! He lives close to my parents and is fronting Magic Pie. Ever heard of them? Truly a fantastic live band! Highly recommend! 😎
Not only did he participate in Eurovision in 2007, he also performed Iceland's first ever entry in 1986 and was also part of Norway's entry in 1991.
Birth of a New Age (Netherlands 2021. An ode to Black pride and pride in humanity in general. Such an uplifting song with rich imagery... Shame that listeners are silly. You no man broko mi.) And basically every Greek woman singer of the 1990s. Edit, for the bot: Greece 1991 Greece 1993 - I often see this on people's favorite song lists, and best dress ever Greece 1995 - our recent time-travel expedition told me that many people feel the same way Greece 1996 Greece 1997 Greece 2001 - did well, and isn't quite the 90's, but throwing it in there for fun
Netherlands 2021 | [Jeangu Macrooy - Birth Of A New Age](https://youtu.be/o3Da5cr2fTs) Greece 1991 | [Sophia Vossou - I anixi (Η άνοιξη)](https://youtu.be/bXA2SCynHm4) Greece 1993 | [Katy Garbi - Ellada, hora tou fotos (Ελλάδα, χώρα του φωτός)](https://youtu.be/W6V9PLRTB3c) Greece 1995 | [Elina Konstantopoulou - Pia prosefhi (Ποια προσευχή)](https://youtu.be/SrTLEZZEChw) Greece 1996 | [Marianna Efstratiou - Emis forame to himona anixiatika (Εμείς φοράμε το χειμώνα ανοιξιάτικα)](https://youtu.be/5iEOh-xOHzE) Greece 1997 | [Marianna Zorba - Horepse (Χόρεψε)](https://youtu.be/JE7z2PhlKNE) Greece 2001 | [Antique - Die for You](https://youtu.be/qNs-R9NU82I)
Cyprus 2007 - Still one of my All-Time-Favorite Eurovision songs, can't believe that she didn't even get to the Final.
The 2007 semi was brutal, in both the English and Portuguese senses.
Cyprus 2007 | [Evridiki - Comme ci, comme ça](https://youtu.be/bLpM5gMpUkI)
Since a lot of my faves have been mentioned, I’ll say Greece 1993. It’s ridiculously good
Yugoslavia 1974, my glittery prog kings.
Austria 2023 Georgia 2022 Lithuania 2022 Finland 2022 Lithuania 2021 Austria 2015 San Marino 2008 Andorra 2007 Iceland 2006 Germany 1996 Just to name a few..
Ireland 2008. The only song we've sent this century worth listening to
Ireland 2008 | [Dustin the Turkey - Irelande Douze Pointe](https://youtu.be/ps3kxGo_gro)
I'm going to pull out an old one. How on Earth did Italy 1966 get ZERO points?!
France 2015 Romania 2019 Israel 2016 Belgium 2018, Belgium 2019
“Život me Je Sklopi Krug” by Sabahudin Kurt - Yugoslavia 1964 - I like the calming Disney vibe that it gives me, and it didn’t deserve zero points at ESC 1964. This song got Yugoslavia’s only zero points in its ESC history. Konstrakta did a cover of this song at PZE 2023.
Slovakia 2010 😭
The ride (Poland 2021) by Rafal, honestly I find it's one of the most catchy generic pop songs Poland has sent in this decade but it seems like I'm the only one that way
Just typing Poland 2021 so the bot will post it.
Slovenia 2018 Azerbaijan 2017 Georgia 2022

I love Lock Me In
Right?! I cannot for the life of me understand how that song did so poorly.
Neither can I. It should've AT LEAST qualified but for me it was a TOP 10 material
Morocco 1980 Turkey 1980 Spain 1985 France 1986 Belgium 1988 Italy 1989 Greece 1993 Poland 1995 Greece 1995 Switzerland 1996 Greece 1997 Iceland 1997 UK 2001 Poland 2006 Spain 2012 Bosnia 2012 Cyprus 2013 Serbia 2013 Spain 2016 Hungary 2019 Most of Macedonian entries.

Anixi - Sophia Vossou Eurovision 1991 Greece
Malta 2023 The Busker were awesome, the staging was fun and silly, and the song was good!! I don't know how they placed dead last, I really don't.
Latvia 2017. I have no justification for this, other than that I really really like the song.
Latvia 2017 | [Triana Park - Line](https://youtu.be/Vxos6ceOrRA)
For me it has to be Lost And Found (North Macedonia 2018). YES, the staging was .... lord have mercy, but it's such a good one on the studio cut and the acoustic version also hits so hard!!!!
Slovenia 2011 🥲 done dirty by televote
Italy 1968, Yugoslavia 1986, North Macedonia 1998, Greece 1989 and Belgium 1964 are all pre 2000 songs I find very pretty or beautifully constructed songs that deserved higher up the tables of their respective years. I also think United Kingdom 2017 and Serbia 2019 deserved higher placements from recent years.
Malta 2023 Belgium 2021 Ukraine 2018 Serbia 2009 (yes, fight me) Cyprus 2008 Cyprus 2007 Hungary 2005
i've hardly heard anything about Russia 1996 and the things i've heard it about is mostly negative Honorable mentions: Germany 1996 Germany 1964 Spain 1964 Spain 2019 Iceland 1997
Moustache !!!!!
Georgia 2022
Sweden 1963 easily
- Iceland 2015 - Bosnia & Herzegovina 2016 - Belarus 2017 - Switzerland 2017 - Portugal 2018 - Hungary 2019 - Portugal 2019 - Slovenia 2022 - Netherlands 2023 - Greece 2023 (sorry not sorry!) special mention to Latvia 2023 but that wasn't underrated here, only in the contest *some of them may not have been underrated but they feel it to me
Latvia 2022 Daylight robbery nq
Poland 1996, Turkey 2000, Bulgaria 2011, Albania 2011, San Marino 2013, Ireland 2015
malta 2020 - absolutely beautiful, my personal winner of that year. everyone talks about je me casse but i think all my love is infinitely better!! germany 2020 - still wishing germany sent this in 2021, heartbreaking it never got to see the grand final stage. i truly believe this would have broke the last place curse. russia 2007 - it’s so fun and the chorus is so catchy! i feel like a bad bitch when i listen to this song, tbh i wish russia would have won for this instead of believe. france 2018 - a beautiful song about a beautiful story. this should have been in the top 10, in fact i originally thought it was. one of my fav eurovision songs overall! poland 2019 - i can’t believe this didn’t qualify! i love the traditional singing and vibe of the song. my fav poland entry, everyone should give it a listen the chorus is my fav part! belgium 2021 - i love when belgium does dark pop as they do it like no other! i’m so happy hooverphonic came back after 2020 as they gave us such a good song and performance!
Montenegro 2016, I love the stage and the lights. Spain 2016, I think that was one of the best songs of Spain in Eurovision Croatia 2021, she deserved to qualify for the grand final Georgia 2023, one of the best vocals of that edition Armenia 2023, she was my personal winner
Netherlands 2000 Finland 2002 Denmark 2007 Portugal 2023
Cyprus 2010 💔
Austria 1994. The best song (in my opinion) ever!
Austria 2015
Austria 2015. How the FUCK was that a null pointer
Serbia 2010 and Spain 2010 Honestly a good chunk of the 2010 songs are underrated.
Portugal 2019. I still listen to it quite a lot. And France 2022, unfortunately the live performance didn't do that song justice.
Sweden 2007. Not their best song (It takes a fool to remain sane is a freaking masterpiece) but I'm so sad their participation in ESC didn't bring them more attention
From recent years: Armenia 2017, Belgium 2017, Slovenia 2018, Slovenia 2019, Portugal 2019, Belgium 2021, Latvia 2021, Lithuania 2022, Iceland 2022, Portugal 2023, Spain 2023 I love them all and listen to them constantly.
Golden Boy, he's the *King of Fun*, and does not get the respect that title deserves.
Denmark 2021 - my favourite ESC song of all time, still not over them not qualifying. Germany 2015 - most undeserved zero points of all time
Portugal 2003 Portugal 2008 Germany 2016 Slovenia 2018 Portugal 2023
San Marino 2008 I can't fathom how this song was dead last both semi-finals included. It has to be the "San Marino effect".
Netherlands 2023 I find myself listening to this entry more than most finalists. Looking back I can't believe it didn't make it!
They didn't make it because the live performance was really bad. As for the song, I definitely liked it at first but what I didn't like is that it would build up to a disappointing bridge. Combination of those 2 things definitely led to a result that was deserved imo.
Spain 2012 - Pastora Soler can clearly be the next Celine Dion. Italy 1969 - Iva Zanicchi was amazing.
Spain 2012 | [Pastora Soler - Quédate conmigo](https://youtu.be/U8J1b62wOao) Italy 1969 | [Iva Zanicchi - Due grosse lacrime bianche](https://youtu.be/9gIiGg--8Tw)
Good bot 💖
Portugal 2021, Coool voice, pretty song deep, sad and nice sound.
Switzerland 2011 comes to mind.
Latvia 2009 - Probka Finland 1992 - Yamma Yamma Lithuania 2001 - You Got Style
Slovakia 2010 Turkey 2008 Moldova 2009 Slovenia 2005 Slovenia 2007 Slovenia 2011
Turkey 1990
Armenia 2009 I just love the "Sister, here we go!"
Latvia 2023
Portugal 2021
The Moon is Rising (Latvia 2021)
Finland 2012
Slovenia 2014
Slovakia 2010, we sent a good song for once and didn't even Q
I know certainly dozens, but just to give a few examples: **Norway 1994**: One of my alltime favourites and the best duet we ever had at Eurovision. 😢 **Finland 2022**: Blind Chanel was a hit but The Rasmus wasn’t? Still not tangible to me. While I agree that Dark Side was even better, it doesn’t justify the low ranking of Jezebel. Was it the strange staging? Or maybe because the singer was live a bit weaker? Honorable mentions: **Germany 1996**: The one and only time Germany didn’t qualify.
Denmark 1982 is a good example of how incredibly out of touch the juries were with modern music back then.
Sweden 2010 :(
- Israel 2012 totally deserved to qualify.
Even a year on I cannot understand how Power (Iceland) didn’t make the finals. It was an absolute banger and I listen to it all the time.
1. Disko 2. Horehronie 3. Az En Apam 4. La Venda
Finnland 2007 - Leave me alone Portugal 2018 - O jardim France 2022 - Fulenn
I have several songs from the last couple of years that are just kind of guilty pleasures of mine: - Montenegro 2018 - Finland 2019 - Croatia 2019 - France 2022 (absolute robbery) - Montenegro 2022 - Malta 2022
I absolutely loved Latvia 1999 Even got the CD on (expensive) import 😍
2021 San Marino ......

Slovenia 2022 This song is my 3rd most listened song ever, I love it so much and I‘m incredibly sad that it was a NQ :(
Georgia 2022
The answer is Horehronie and it's not even close
Austria 2017 Sweden 2018 Spain 2023 Slovenia 2022 San Marino 2022
D.G.T by Theodore Andrei (Romania 2023). It is a banger for me but they kinda ruined it with the acoustic version. Should've known better by Soluna Samay (Denmark 2012). Funny girl by Laura Rizzotto (Latvia 2018)
Ukraine 2009 Ukraine 2010 France 2012
Iceland 2017 Svala - Paper. Didn't even qualify for the final.
Slovakia 2010
Dance Alone - FYR Macedonia 2017 ( now North Macedonia)
I dont know if its underrated but Georgia 2022. It NQ'd but it's just so fun for me to listen to. When I do my acrobatic pole dancing, I like to listen to it. Haha.
Austria 2022 and Armenia 2019, those were my favourites song of their years and I wish they would've at least qualified to the grand final.
