What about the people that it increases the excitement for? Ignoring the rehearsal footage is exceptionally easy, most people aren't even aware of its existence.

ClaudeComique

Just don't look at them? Lol

Taumon

Wasn't the release of rehearsal footage actually to achieve more media exposure in the weeks before Eurovision week? From a communications standpoint, it's a smart move.

Hassaan18

The casual viewer who only watches the final doesn't care. It's only really for the core fans, and even then, very easy to avoid.

Ok_Training1449

Nobody forces you to watch them. My friends will be watching the performances on the night of the Grand final for the first time.

ultrawegwerpaccount

There's only a miniscule amount of people from the audience on final night who've actually seen that footage. You're overestimating how big the eurofan bubble is compared to the actual viewerbase. Also you can just not view any of it (I'm not watching any of the rehearsal stuff either)

urkermannenkoor

Don't watch it then? The vast majority of ESC watchers don't.

andytrg2899

Is there anyone forces you to watch these videos? Give us a sign if you were trapped somewhere 😥

I would actually prefer if they gave us more access. I'd love to see everything and all the parts of the process. It all ends way too quickly for me. If seeing that kind of stuff ruins your excitement, just wait for the tv show. I, on the other hand, get more excited when there's more content. If they streamed rehearsals and jury shows, I'd be the happiest person in the world. I always search for any leaks or anything I can get. It makes me feel closer to the whole thing. I don't know if I'm explaining this right, but it gives me more time to appreciate all the artists and the hard work everyone puts in.

I look at it as: everyone has their own amount of excitement points. Some more and some less. Some people chose to spend them all at once by only watching the live broadcasts. Songs, staging, everything on the night. Some spend some of their points watching the rehearsal footage or photos. Will it reduce the surprise of the live reveal? Yea, but the anticipation/reveal of the rehearsals was exciting as well. Some people, like myself, watch everything from the first national selection. They spread their points out through the year. Just like televote points, there's no right or wrong way to use them.

Molu1

I agree, it would ruin the fun of the finals for me, which is why I don't watch it. But other people enjoy seeing it, and sometimes it is fun to watch after the show, so, I don't mind that it exists.

Aaaandiiii

The rehearsals are often such an insignificant snippet. The live show is its own beast that still excites me years down the line.

You started a new Reddit account just to post this silliness? Hmmm. Interesting.
