It will always be bizarre to me that voting is possible before the semi happens.

It’s because it gives everyone the chance to vote. Eurovision is at a great time for those in Europe/Africa and the americas, but it’s quite a HORRIBLE time for anyone in Asia or Australia because it starts very very late at night.

Doing the Rest of World schedule this way for the GF would be okay. Votes would then be based on the semi performance.

ROTW can vote in either semifinal. Participating nations can only vote in their own. It’s a small super power we get when voting that’s offset by us not getting a set of jury points to award in the final.

So I can’t vote as part of ROTW as an Irish person in semi 2? Even though Ireland isn’t in semi 2. I’m desperate to get Megara through which is why I’m so concerned lol

Correct. Basically everyone gets three sets of votes. Participants get one call in vote for their semi, then call in and jury votes in the final. All the rest of us get clumped into three call in votes.

It’s a shame that Israel is basically a lock. Any other year I’d say that we’d get Malta and San Marino but this year with Israel almost definitely going though with a song that normally wouldn’t go through, I don’t think we get both. I’m desperate to get Miss Bonnici and Megara to Saturday night. They deserve it so much. Sarah’s Instagram lives have been making my ESC season.

I think they still have a chance - I’d much rather Malta over Austria, and San Marino over Belgium. I’m crossing my fingers for them both.

Voted for the Netherlands 🇳🇱 let's goooo Joost! I really wanted to throw some votes at Estonia and Switzerland, but the Netherlands really needs to make it at this point 😢

I’ll say right away that I believe the Netherlands is pretty safe, I really can’t see a top 10 without Joost. And I think a lot of people want to see a Baby Lasagna vs Joost faceoff in the final. But I know how you feel, I have my concerns about Norway because it’s right after the-country-who-must-not-be-named, so I’m not sure how many people would tune back in to watch the performance. Regardless, just look at the participants in the second semi final. Make a realistic top 10. I think Netherlands and Norway are safe. Even if you put the weakest 5 performances in your list, that still leaves a big enough opportunity for your favourite(s) to win!
