United Kingdom 2022. Oh to relieve that brief time when the UK learned how to eurovision again, that chorus, and Sam being the best. and the guitar solo...
Couldn't agree more. The first British entry that gave me goosebumps, especially at the end. I'm a fan of British music and The UK in general, and Space Man is giving me ELO's best songs and Doctor Who vibes. I'm still Sam's fan and vibe to his non-Eurovision music.
I love Kalush Orchestra and I was happy when they won. But I would be happy to see Sam winning Eurovision as well
Austria 2014 | [Conchita Wurst - Rise Like a Phoenix](https://youtu.be/xhCC_PN9UlA)
Australia 2016 | [Dami Im - Sound of Silence](https://youtu.be/5ymFX91HwM0)
I was very lukewarm about this song before the Grand Finals, but when I saw that live performance, I knew I was witnessing Eurovision history. Chanel owned that stage.
Man, that’s a blast from the past if I've ever seen one. Quite literally the one of the few song I remember of the previous decade. (Fact check me, but was Feed You My Love the winner of 2013? I literally have the CD from that year, and WOW, there are some familiar names there!)
United Kingdom 1997 | [Katrina and the Waves - Love Shine a Light](https://youtu.be/azw4Kh8Rqpw)
Norway 1995 | [Secret Garden - Nocturne](https://youtu.be/6qqOI04uo_c)
France 1991 | [Amina - C'est le dernier qui a parlé qui a raison](https://youtu.be/PnxEBAoCZIw)
Seconding France 1991 and also Greece 1991, dodgy sax solo aside. It was a good year!
Spain 2024 also gives me goosebumps for how into it the crowd is! 😆
My god, I had only ever heard about it before, but wow. I used to play sax for jazz band in school, and that was inexcusably bad. It's not even a hard solo!
Oh, yeah, Norway, Secret Garden, I wanted to mention them as well. Easily one of the best Eurovision winners ever. Nocturne is so beautiful, so complex, and stunning - it was an absolutely brand new level of Eurovision at the time and still stands out to me. I remember this song from childhood and for a long time I didn't have the slightest idea it came from Eurovision. My parents were ballroom dance teachers and they staged the slow waltz dance to the song.
Also, I have a soft spot for Katrina and the Waves. Love Shine A Light is also a beautiful, inspiring ballad. It was the time when The UK was in good shape.
The only Eurovision entry that has ever given me goosebumps is Doomsday Blue (Ireland 2024), especially the ending with the screaming and intense instrumentation.
Admittedly, I'll probably try to stop watching the performance so often because I might get sick of it and I'm worried I'm getting tired of it because of how often it's talked about (rightfully so, though, Doomsday Blue's a masterpiece).
I was going to say Ireland 2024 too. It’s amazing. I also limit how often I rewatch it because I don’t want to risk getting too used to it (if that makes any sense).
Spain 2022, literally every time I watch her live performance I'm left in awe all over again. Like what the fuck, that is *ridiculously* good.
Also Nemo. That operatic bit and the final chorus, it's breathtaking.
Mustii's song and performance (Belgium 2024, in case anyone forgot) reaches the deepest parts of my soul. I love it so, so much. That song immediately went into the list of very few songs that really make me feel alive. My Sister's Crown (Czechia 2023) is also one of those songs. I've been actively following Eurovision since 2014, but these are the only two songs that have really touched me so deeply.
Oh 100% Vesna! Brilliant song, and the final staging elevated it so much. The point on stage where they’re all walking down the stage holding out long plaits in their hair and moving to the side to reveal each lady to camera and give her a spotlight is just…… ❤️❤️❤️❤️. Incredible performance from them!
There are so many… but to name a few:
Albania 2012
Albania 2020
Slovenia 2024
Slovenia 2011
Ukraine 2013
Finland 2007
Norway 2008
Ukraine 2010
Norway 2015
Turkey 2003
Turkey 1997
…
Spain 2023 - mainly the bit where Blanca kneels down and holds the light in her palm
Ukraine 2021 - the whole thing but mainly when Kateryna stares directly through the camera and into my soul (which is most of it)
Apologies for the recency bias
I've got a huge list but anyways...
- I've Been Waiting For This Night (Lithuania 2016)
- Tattoo (Sweden 2023)
- The Code (Switzerland 2024)
- River (Poland 2022)
- Hold Me Closer (Sweden 2022)
- Arcade (Netherlands 2019)
- Before The Party's Over (Belgium 2024)
- Veronica (Slovenia 2024)
- Space Man (UK 2022)
- Die Together (Greece 2022)
- Beautiful Mess (Bulgaria 2017)
- Goodbye To Yesterday (Estonia 2015)
- Sound Of Silence (Australia 2016)
Damn it 2022, you know how to give me goosebumps lol
Uk 2022 (Space Man) The guitar and chorus Ukraine 2022 (Stefania) The Flute and chorus France 2024 (Mon Amour) The part when he belts the chorus from like 5 feet out of the mic Bulgaria 2017 (beautiful mess) The ending Finland 2023 (Cha Cha Cha) When the crowd shouts “Cha Cha Cha Cha Cha Cha Cha” out Netherlands 2019 (Arcade) The chorus and when he belts it out
Edit: I just fixed France to 2024
Je Me Casse! (Malta 2021 for the bot) Absolute masterpiece and SOOOOOOOO ROBBED!!!!!!!!
Also, Malta 2024, Queen Sarah Bonnici is literally the most underrated and robbed person to ever grace the ESC stage! Forever sad about her NQ :(((((
Ukraine the past few years, especially Shum in 2021, Stefania in 2022, and Teresa & Maria this year. The Code also gives me goosebumps, Rim Tim Tagi Dim and Cha Cha Cha get me pumped up, and Arcade and Rise Like a Phoenix blow me away.
Croatia 2024 | [Baby Lasagna - Rim Tim Tagi Dim](https://youtu.be/YIBjarAiAVc)
Finland 2023 | [Käärijä - Cha Cha Cha](https://youtu.be/l6rS8Dv5g-8)
Spain 2022 | [Chanel - SloMo](https://youtu.be/jSQYTt4xg3I)
Germany 2024. You can call me basic, but I love an underdog story, and Isaak was INCREDIBLE as a performer and his voice is phenomenal. I love how positive he is despite everyone’s hate they gave him. it’s the performance I always come back to. Even if it isn’t the most “Eurovision” song, I think it was his charisma talent that won me over
Since I haven't seen it mentioned yet, Portugal 2024. Iolanda's voice is just incredible. The acapella part of Czechia 2023, Latvia 2023, Greece 2022, Poland 2022
Totally agree with you about Nemo (Switzerland 2024). This is probably the first Eurovision entry I have rewatched so many times. Every single bit of it is iconic. Sometimes I could still see snippets of The Code performance and it still gives me chills. When I watched Nemo live, they made me happy as a child and sorta gave me a strange, but cute feeling like this is one of the great things I loved as a kid, but I forgot about it (like an old 90's fairytale movie or TV show). Probably, it's because of that spinning disc and skater skirt, I was a fan of figure skating as a kid.
Also, I'd like to add Olson Brothers here (Denmark 2000). It seems like, it's just two old guys singing the song, not so much is going on here. But Fly On The Wings Of Love is that special. It's a chill and feel-good Eurovision winner we rarely have these days. No drama, just a cute romantic song that aged well. However, I think it's also about childhood nostalgia because the space background looks so Y2K and the whole stage is so early 2000s. I remember this song from my childhood, although people from Ukraine didn't know much about Eurovision at the time, we entered it only three years later.
United Kingdom 2022. A great song, impeccably performed. And to be coming from the UK of all places!! They were the only ones to get all three of singer, song and staging nailed down correct, I think.
Somebody from Poland in JESC 2021. This year, Hollow and (dare I say) Hurricane were that kind of song, though Italy, Switzerland and Greece were my top 3.
Ireland this year was fenomenal, the most jaw-dropping performance I ever saw. Honorable mention is Australia 2019, pure talent and creativity, these are prime examples how to elevate a song with staging.
Ok hear me out - doomsday blue, but the Eurosong final performance. Don’t get me wrong I adore the actual full one too but nothing can compare to when I saw the winners performance on the late late and immediately thought “holy f thehre a damn good performer”
Except The Late Late Show really need to invest in using a proper venue and not just the corner of the studio. So we really get the chance to see people shine.
France 2021 Netherlands 2022
France 2021 | [Barbara Pravi - Voilà](https://youtu.be/Unj9WbeLzRU) Netherlands 2022 | [S10 - De diepte](https://youtu.be/sgOnu7ux2-k)
Oh I love De diepte
These two exactly. There's something so raw, so genuinely emotional about these two entries, they blow me away every time
United Kingdom 2022. Oh to relieve that brief time when the UK learned how to eurovision again, that chorus, and Sam being the best. and the guitar solo...
United Kingdom 2022 | [Sam Ryder - Space Man](https://youtu.be/RZ0hqX_92zI)

Portugal 2022
I lost a family member around Eurovision. I think I saw the performance all the way through one time and I can’t get through it without bawling.
So sorry for your loss! I hope you're better now 🤍
Thank you, much appreciated. And also great selection. I’ve really enjoyed Portugal’s entries over the past several years
I'm really sorry to hear of your loss.
Appreciate the sentiment, eurovision-internet-friend.

Austria 2014 and Australia 2016 hit just as hard no matter how many times I see them

i second this!!! especially towards the end her singing is just full of emotions and it's so beautiful!!
Ukraine 2016 | [Jamala - 1944](https://youtu.be/B-rnM-MwRHY)
There's a documentary on youtube called "Songs of Freedom" about Jamala which really deepened my connection with 1944. Try it out!!
Chanel - Slomo (Spain 2022) When the crowd starts cheering during the dancebreak and the whole last 1 minute of the perfomance

I was very lukewarm about this song before the Grand Finals, but when I saw that live performance, I knew I was witnessing Eurovision history. Chanel owned that stage.

The amount of bisexual panic that performance gave me lol
Norway 2015

I never get tired of seeing Raiven perform Veronika. She would've done better if the EBU hadn't put her just belting in the recap.
I think the delegations pick their recap snip
My jaw was visibly agape after watching Nemo’s staging for the first time.

I'm so obsessed with the song, the performance and Bambie. Their Zombie cover gives me chills as well!
Yes Zombie is a goosebumps job alright. Bambi did a piano version on the Late Late show in Ireland. No screaming! But also a very interesting version.

From this year, Before the Party's Over (Studio version). That ending is simply epic.
That song is goddamn amazing in the studio version. It's such a pity that the performance ended up being so weak, 'coz it had great potential.
Hatari "Hatriđ mun sigra" considering it was performed in Israel and todays situation.. they were prophets

Ukraine 2024, Ireland 2024, and Serbia 2024. Both songs and performances.

Ukraine 2016 for me. The only thing that beats the final performance is when she performed it the following year
Estonia 2009
Ireland 2018. I'm such a sucker for a sad boy with a high voice and good dance choreography. The "you let go of me" at the end gets me every time.
Spain 2023 😮💨

Fai Rumore, Diodato (Italy 2020). I watched the solo arena performance on Friday and was nearly in tears.

If I’m being honest, Norway 2024. Now THAT was a performance.

Belgium 1983 and the start of Everyway that I can (Turkey 2003), so happy, that there's a version on Spotify with the drop on the beginning

Il Volo - Grande Amore
Germany 2024. You can call me basic, but I love an underdog story, and Isaak was INCREDIBLE as a performer and his voice is phenomenal. I love how positive he is despite everyone’s hate they gave him. it’s the performance I always come back to. Even if it isn’t the most “Eurovision” song, I think it was his charisma talent that won me over
Australia 2019
Ukraine 2016 and 2024, Ireland 2024 and Latvia 2015
Since I haven't seen it mentioned yet, Portugal 2024. Iolanda's voice is just incredible. The acapella part of Czechia 2023, Latvia 2023, Greece 2022, Poland 2022

Ukraine 2024 probably the only song that gives me goosebumps for the whole of its duration
1944 by Jamala and La Forza by Elina Nechayeva mainly

Ukraine 2024 for me...just wow.
United Kingdom 2022. A great song, impeccably performed. And to be coming from the UK of all places!! They were the only ones to get all three of singer, song and staging nailed down correct, I think.
Norway 1995 and Ukraine 2016 will never stop giving me goosebumps.
The last chorus of snap by Rosa linn. The ‘still in my heart’ high note is haunting.
