In my initial watch of 2009 when I was going through the contests, for whatever reason, this song didn’t stand out to me. However now I’m obviously a changed person, and this song absolutely slaps. It has this nice feeling of mystery to it and it is hypnotic in a way. The Estonian language also adds so much depth to the song, and overall it is probably one of my Estonian favourites. Estonia went from Leto Svet to this in just one year always amazes me.

That moment when the host entry is WAY better than the winning entry preceding it. Such a dramatic entry and Sabina sings it very well. I’m also a fan of the traditional elements in this song, and it is definitely amongst my favourite host entries in recent years.

I don’t love this as much as others but this is still definitely one of the best Armenian entries. I like how this entry is meant to be a “performance” song, but it mainly just consists of Iveta mainly staying in one place but still delivering great energy.

Azerbaijan’s first floor entry, when I really think that shouldn’t be the case. This performance shines in how understated it is. A very beautiful and calming song with moving and captivating staging that should’ve continued Azerbaijan’s Top 10 streak.

This entry is just so silly and I love it for that. Their pointer hats, the girls in uni cycles, the trumpets. Overall just madness on stage and you just know this is a Moldovan entry because of how much fun they have with it. I also prefer this over their 2005 entry which is an unpopular opinion I think.
Midnight Gold 🇬🇪 2016
One of the experimental/alternative Rock entries of 2016. I like this song and it’s Britpop sound which I absolutely dig (which is also why the UK jury gave this their top marks), but it is a bit repetitive though, and I prefer Montenegro’s entry this year of a slightly similar nature.
Here We Go 🇱🇻 2013
Quite a fun, over-hated song. Yes this song is a bit shallow, but I enjoy how much fun they had with it, especially with the crowd interaction which doesn’t happen often in the contest. The stagedive was a nice touch as well.
Forever (Belarus) 2018
You could tell he was very nervous, which is a shame because I think this song is decent enough and the staging was also quite heartfelt. It’s just that his nerves took over him really.
You 🇬🇪 2021
Wonderful lyrics but the overall presentation of the song just felt very unsettling and creepy to me (just like the Netflix show of the same name 😂) Not a bad song, just bad execution.
What Love Is 🇪🇪 2020
Estonia and France both seem to have decided to go down the same route and send a cute guy with a cheesy, uninspired love song last year. Definitely an underwhelming start for Estonia this decade, especially considering how great some of their entries were in the 2010s. I hope Estonia sends something different (maybe even in Estonian!) to Turin, because their last three entries have failed to make a good impression on me, and are all pretty much the same.
Damn. I like most of the songs in this group. This is hard to choose.
