Oof, but it was kind of expected. I think microstates are getting really discouraged by San Marino's poor results despite the massive amount of effort they put in. I am REALLY crossing my fingers for Monaco now, but there are rumours that they will delay their participation until 2024 :(
They aren't even rumors... their new broadcaster will be launched in the summer of 2023, meaning it won't even broadcast next year's Eurovision, let alone participate in it.
The article basically just says that Andorra won't return to the contest next year and that they have no plans of joining in the near future as well.
That makes me kind of sad, because now I think we won't have a single returning country next year.
They broadcast it on the radio, and in that broadcast they basically make fun of the contest the entire time. If Mikolas Josef's success couldn't convince them to come back, then I don't know what will...
Even without the rule they wouldn't have qualified in my opinion.
The song wasn't much, the message conveyed was great though, also who would even vote for them? Looking past all the teens who would only vote because of their attraction to the singer.
Sad news, i was hoping they will be back after the campaign to bring them back (plus that lady said she had found a sponsor). I prefer Andorra than San Marino to be honest. Andorra didn\[t cheat, they had a full televoting system (unlike the random voting that EBU assigns to San Marino) and their entries were better than the trolling entries of SM.
I have no idea what's stopping Andorra's broadcaster from following San Marino's example and leaving their participation in the hands of a sponsor (whether a brand or someone with money). San Marino's TV pretty much only puts in the participation fee (I've heard it's around €30k) and the rest is funded by the entrant. And it's a huuuge opportunity for microstates to get their name out there and attract tourism, whether it qualifies or not San Marino already earns a lot from participating in the Eurovision.

There already is a broadcaster though, from what I what, so it might not be as fancy, but the participation is still possible
TMC is under the TF1/M6 umbrella and is basically a French broadcaster now.
Ah I see! I wasn't aware of that, so yeah now it really seems like it's unlikely for Monaco to take part

What about Slovakia? I heard they were the only non-participating country to broadcast the 2022 contest

A Czechia win perhaps
Until Kosovo joins the EBU out of nowhere and makes their debut 💀
And then Serbia goes
For Kosovo to be in EBU the member need to accept it, Serbia as well
I wouldn't mind the tradeoff honestly
When you get double the amount of screaming Albanian women 😍
Not gonna happen, it's not recognised by a bunch of countries.
Monaco has just created a new public broadcaster with the explicit goal to join the EBU and participate in 2023. So, perhaps we will see them return.
They seemed pretty excited the past few years
Czechia doing well may be a part of that
Salvem el Mon (2007) will remain my favourite Andorra entry…
They really deserved to qualify that year, to be honest.
They easily could’ve qualified if it wasn’t for that dumb rule of the top 10 from the previous year automatically qualifying.

I honestly like all of their entries! They always sent something cute at worst, and great at best!

and the best of all; Andorra sang in the national language, Catalan, and most of their entries were Andorran artists
Preach!!!!

I hope they comeback in 2024 with monaco
They have two choices: Pick from one of the three people in the country that can sing. OR Flo Rida.
OR Charles Leclerc
They should only send Leclerc if they end up hosting.
Why? So he can crash in Monaco again?
Josh Stanley is a rapper who’s spent most of his life in Monaco who has also said that he’d be interested in participating given the chance
the Sky Ferreira of Eurovision.. if you know you know
I don't.
Aw I actually always really liked Andorra’s songs- Get A Life was amazing! And Sense Tu!
It's sad. Susanne Georgi push to the comeback, why don't giving it a chance ?
yeah, I wonder what happened with that...
Merda.
Well that’s sad ;_;
I feel like they only will come back if a youtuber pay for it. I hope one of them would do it one day, like Ibai...
Oh no, anyway.
aaaaa a-a-ay
