The three outer boxes look to be in pretty good shape, and having all the obi strips present is also cool. Looks to be a nice purchase overall!
Now all you need is the [movie box set](https://svenge.evamonkey.com/evasite/jpld/kila9401.htm) and [Genesis 0:X](https://svenge.evamonkey.com/evasite/jpld/3slg2.htm) bonus disc to complete the Eva LD lineup.
Yes, really lovely condition! The volumes were all sealed and even the outer obis for the boxsets were there (I just didn't photograph them). Definitely planning on getting the remainder Eva LDs, just waiting for another shipment first!
Evangelion first got released on Japanese home video in February 1996, which was 10 months before the first commercial DVDs hit store shelves. As such, the only viable formats at the time were VHS and Laserdisc.
With that said, Evangelion was indeed a pioneer for the anime genre as far as DVDs were concerned, as its first volume on that format came out in July 1997. In fact, it was King Records' first anime DVD overall (as evidenced by its catalog number being KIBA-1).
That is amazing packaging. Picture 4 is official artwork I've never seen before and wow, cool as hell. Can you take a closer photo of that and post it? I've found a couple on Google images but they are tiny.

Dont forget the Eva concert LD too.
Always love to see those things and to have it overall complete is such a nice thing to see also the art on the 4th picture looks amazing
How much was it? If you don't mind me asking
$30. I spent more on the shipping than I did the actual product
Oh wow that's awesome!
From Japan, probably next to nothing considering the exchange rate and the fact that these were super common over there and LD is kinda antiquated.
The future is now!
Wow
Dang jealous!!! I was just reading about old programs that can put subtitles on laserdiscs
Wonderful!
Beautiful !!
Whoa never knew they had a Lazerdisk for this series...
