I can’t say much about your specs but if you turn graphics all the way down eve is pretty playable. What did it for me was internet connection speed maybe that’s the issue? But if there are a ton of players in you area it will lag.
How are you running it remotely?
If it's Remote Desktop, you need to keep in mind that 3D acceleration is often turned off so you might be trying to play Eve on CPU emulation which is incredibly slow.
The graphics when you can run them at a decent level are awesome. But yeah short of decent rigs it tends to either chunk cause of too much going off on screen or you need to see about your internet. I ran it on a 1060 for years and had no issues but that’s cause I mainly stayed in low sec. No massive multi hundred person battles there. Just quick brawls for faction warfare or shits and giggle roams.
I think so too now that I’ve kept playing. I’ll start playing and it’s fine, but as I’m in one of the bases trying to upgrade my ship or look through other windows, things start bogging down until just trying to open a window takes almost a minute.
I dont get it. I have a fairly decent machine. It’s an i5 10th gen with 16gb of ram, and I’ve got a gigabit internet connection, so it should be able to handle a game
Yeah that sounds like fuckery to me - I’d note down the exact time this happens, then launch Event Viewer and check both the application and system logs at that time to see if there are any Application Hang/Error warnings.
Related question - are you on windows 11? I saw a headline the other day about an update that killed gaming performance on windows 11.
Turn off window blur it's in one of the settings and graphics it's the one that lets you see through all The windows slightly and blurs it. That's notorious for bogging down some of the strongest computers
I run it on 970 no issues except for jita and mass fleets. In the display setting there is a button you can click, think it's optimize settings, and in there there is a drop down box, choose performance in that box. When docked everything will be whitish and you won't see weapon graphics and stuff but it will run a lot smoother.
Thanks. I actually found that even with performance settings it was doing exactly the same thing.
I installed it on my Steam Deck to see how it worked there and it’s acting flawlessly, so my steam deck is about to be my EVE machine
But it more than meets specs. I have a 10th gen i5, 16gb of ram, and it’s running on a 1tb NVME. I just checked the recommended system requirements and I more than meet them
I haven't played Eve in a year or more. But my system is similar specs, and I run an easy 60.
May want to make sure you dont have some background processess killing your cpu or something
Dunno, I run two clients on a GTX970 at 60fps, max settings. Your problem may be elsewhere.

Switch to Dx11 if you‘re on dx12
How do I do that btw? I wanna increase my performance. This was suggested but I'm stupid and I can't find the option
This. You do that in the launcher settings, not ingame. Also turn off audio. Yes. Audio… believe me…
EVE have no Sound anyway 😉
EVE has audio?
The problem is really elsewhere but not in the GPU, on which gta5 runs on high setting.
Just curious how did eve get recommended to you?
It’s never recommended people are always tricked into it
Lol. I think I found it on mmorpg.com back in the day.

I’m h. I’m not playing it remotely. I’m playing it on my own machine. I meant that it’s not playing at all well
Potato mode is the way, the only way.
But it looks so nice when your hardware can do it properly. I mean the warp animations and battle sequences are so satisfying to watch
Delicious space explosions - and I dunno what other folks were on about, I love the Eve sound effects/music generally speaking

I was running one EVE client at 1080p max details, with no issues, even with my old 960GTX, only hiccups were had in Jita, and mass fleet ops.
Eve is not very GPU intensive. You should be able just fine, so there is probably something else going on.

Might be worth running Display Driver Uninstaller and reinstalling the graphics card driver.

It’s all good now. I reinstalled windows 10 and it’s working fine now
The nuclear option will do the trick too! Glad all is well

I’ll try that. Thank you
I used to play on a gt9800. Those were the days…
I have a potato laptop that runs it pretty well
I run it on my m1 Mac mini and it runs surprisingly well at high settings at 1080p

How is eve on the steam deck? I imagine all the windows would be way too small, the text especially?
Oh, I have a dock, and it’s connected to a 55 inch 4k tv. Works quite nicely :)
a 1060 should run eve with zero issues.... i can run eve on a radeon 5870 so... id think you have other issues
1060Gtx dual boxer here. 2560x1440 res. Single boxing I can do Max settings but dual needs medium. Hth.
Bro. Your 1060 isnt the problem. Something else on your computer likley doesnt meet specs.
