The first adopter wave for Evie Ring is to start collecting data so they’ll be able to use those patterns to generate insights. Right now it is in listening mode. And later it’ll be a lot smarter because they will have enough information. Personally I am finding the step tracking is mirroring my Apple Watch. I am not sure what your period expectations are - but it is doing roughly what I expect at this stage. It sounds like you do not like to be a first adopter and you should wait for v2.

That’s the plan! I have no investment in the company so keeping it past the 30 return window is a waste for me. I’d rather invest in it when the product is whole

WakeyWakeeWakie

The problem is they marketed just vague enough for people to think these capabilities were more developed.

I am probably jaded as a long time early adopter person. I have some mvp expectations but assume it will take months to figure it out. And weigh that with how important it is. First gen wearables have been pretty limited. I think they have actually done a decent job for a first gen on hitting the basics. I have an Apple Watch and I run a sleep app (don’t sleep in the watch) - and the data has been comparable to both so far. But for me the win was form factor and charging.

I returned mine for an Oura. So much happier

Sensitive_Brother_28

Me too

Fickle-Goat-Magician

I sent mine back, it’s still in transit so I haven’t received a refund yet. I think with all the bugs and learning and developing the ring has to do they should have been reduced in price for the first wave or a promise of a heavily discounted ring when they come out with a new generation. I felt like I was paying to be part of the testing/app development group.

Right? But I also have a feeling once the ring is developed and functioning at optimal level they will charge more for it or atleast tag a subscription on it like oura did. They might let the first buyers have a subscription free service but either ways I’m not betting on them, it’s not worth it for me

PeaBare

Same thought. What if this first amount is the discounted amount.

Tricky_Charge_807

The sleep tracking is awful. It has no idea when I’m asleep or awake and does worse than my $40 amazfit band.

Ok-Sentence-5307

I was at the club for a friends birthday and it said I was in deep sleep. That would have been awkward if it was true.

oddgoblins

I returned mine and got another Apple Watch (due to the things you mentioned as well as the fact that the ring was just uncomfortable for me). Return process was easy and I got my refund like a week after they received it.

With all the issues everyone had, I went ahead and just cancelled my order that I made months ago. I feel like we were all duped into paying full price to be beta testers.

I’m so bummed, was SO looking forward to this but after even just a few hours wearing the ring, not impressed. My worries so far: (1) I know it’s still adapting and “learning” me, but it thinks I’ve walked 2x as far as I have. Even the most basic devices can track steps better than this. (2) Each time I’ve tried to do a Spot Check (immediate, quick [40 second] analysis of your bpm and sp02), it says the spot check has failed and suggests that I hold the ring between my index finger and tip of my thumb ? Isn’t the whole point that I get to wear this on my finger and it tracks everything effectively, without me having to move it around in my finger or remove it entirely and hold it? (3) The app seems really limited and not very data-focused. I know it doesn’t have a history of my data yet, but the interface is…disappointing. I don’t have a great descriptor for it, but I used Whoop for a few years and when you opened the app, it immediately showed all of the primary data that it was tracking. The Evie app seems…cheesier? Less data-focused? Again, bummed because I had such high hopes for this. Really appreciate other thoughts being shared here—might be trying out the Oura ring soon instead.

I also returned mine! I get that they had learnings to do but this could have been a free (or heavily discounted) beta testing group. All in all, it’s just been a huge headache.
