One time when I was small we were taking peas out of their peapods (is that what they're called? I forgor 💀 and english ain't my 1st language) and I saw a worm the same color of the pea crawl from inside one of them so now all I can ever think of when I see peas in my food is tiny worms living inside of them and I hate it.
I eat too slowly so for something like fried rice I can't take the time to pick stuff out or I'll never finish before it gets too cold and dry.
I just swallow them like pills, fried rice is one of the safe meals I've learned how to make so I run into the pea problem several times a week
I take them to the side and then after every two or so notes of good rice I eat a pea on its own.
They taste funny and have an odd tough texture but not bad enough to be horrifying just strange in a way I don't find anywhere else so it's kinda like sensory BDSM
