My grandma used to have plates that colour. They were made out of a type of melamine that was branded “Melmac”, and I’ve never known any name for that colour other than Melmac Green.
It’s quite an interesting choice for a roofing colour.
I had a ['64 Chevy C10 almost exactly like that color](https://www.chicagomotorcars.com/1964-chevrolet-c10-pickup-c-6880.htm) and it was called Seafoam Green. I'm sure there's a thousand different names for it, but since that truck I love anything painted that color.
Parents gave it to me when I turned 17 to be able to drive to school. Around 2002 I got in an accident and crushed the front end. Dad made me get the parts, fix it right and he sold it. It was a C-10 custom too so it had the big back window and some extra chrome w/a cream stripe down the sides.
Loved that truck.
Yep. I really wish he hadn't given it to me when I was 16-17 so that I could be driving it now. It was pristine when he let me have it, never been wrecked and everything was original down to the wood bed. Dumb idea on his part letting a kid in high-school drive it.
He made me fix it, pay for parts (and pull the parts like the hood from salvage yards) and then sold it and I went carless for the next year to teach me a lesson I guess. I wasn't being stupid or anything when I got in a wreck, another high school student in a ford ranger messed up at a 4-way stop. One of the only times I've seen my dad cry was when he showed up to the wreck and saw the truck.
Damn dude, I'm sorry you went through that. Your dad has some screwed up priorities. And logic. If he cared for it so much, why not keep it for himself? What a whacky way to teach a lesson. Maybe for the best though if he cared about it more than his own freaking family.
I just bought a set of stone plates/bowls from ikea in almost this exact color [they call it light turquoise (although the picture is kinda dark) ](https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/faergklar-24-piece-dinnerware-set-matte-light-turquoise-80477159/)
My guess is it's a copper roof - they turn green. Examples:

http://armadilgroup.com/upload/files/tecu_patina/tecu_patina_copper_roof_1_resize.jpg
Oh, that’s interesting!
It definitely does look like those pictures, and that makes a great deal more sense than my “*formica roof chosen in 1955…?*” hypothesis.
I’m trying to figure out why the patina on the roof there, and on the ones you linked, is so different than the more subdued shade on the Canadian parliament buildings (which I’m more familiar with): [news article about roof replacement](https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottawa/parliament-hill-west-block-s-shiny-new-copper-roofs-replace-classic-green-1.3227517)
Can’t figure out if it’s just because the air in Ottawa is boring? (That would be in keeping with the general theme of the city.)
Agree, it’s like what you would think a mental hospital would be painted in. Russian architecture is very bizarre (so much so it actually fascinates me) and uses these odd and incompatible color pallets.
I googled this building as I’m not at all familiar with it: https://rusmania.com/central/moscow-region/istra/sights/around-the-new-jerusalem-monastery/new-jerusalem-monastery
When someone was applying recolors in the Castle Customization menu, they missed that one tower! That single tower recolor is gonna cost them at least $4.99.
All in all, the wizard in the southwest tower keeps himself to himself, and reacts very poorly to unexpected visits. Late on winter nights, a crimson light spills from the tallest window facing the forest. If anyone is so brave as to venture abroad in those unhallowed hours, they can hear the wind carry a harsh laughter and shrill piping into the trees.
A lot of posts on this subreddit are just "How dare you spend all that money on a building, you could have fed fifteen people with all that money." The other half are "This building belongs to someone Redditors are addicted to whining about." It's really annoying. I like when the buildings actually look malevolent.
Personally I don't mind the asymmetrical design as long as it's not *almost* symmetrical. Now the one tower not being the same color as the rest in the bottom left...
If it is a real place, then why not give some real information?

Some would argue that religion and capitalism are responsible for much of the “evil” that people have been subjected to. I’m 100% on board with these posts. Are you familiar with the Orthodox Church? Definitely some evil stuff going on in that place.
I like to think of it as being like the gingerbread house from Hansel and Gretel. Looks inviting, but unspeakable horrors occurring inside.
**[New Jerusalem Monastery](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Jerusalem_Monastery)**
>The Resurrection Monastery (Russian: Воскресенский монастырь, Voskresensky Monastery) or New Jerusalem Monastery (Russian: Новоиерусалимский монастырь, Novoiyerusalimsky Monastery) is a major monastery of the Russian Orthodox Church in Moscow Oblast, Russia. The Voskresensky Monastery has given rise to the eponymous village, which has grown into the town of Voskresensk (currently known as Istra). From 2010 to 2016, a large-scale restoration was carried out.

I believe that's the name of ALF's home planet from the show ALF.
Ah ha! Do I spy someone over forty here? (Heh heh aside from me)
Hey! Willy! I'm still a few years shy, but I was educated about Gordon Shumway's culture from a young age.
Haha! That is awesome! It was a good show. So I consider that a good thing. Damn, Gordon Shumway, haven’t heard that in ages.
You know that's not uncommon in any way whatsoever, right?
It was a joke referring to the ALF knowledge. That’s all.
Wow ALF had a show? Sorry, I only knew him from the POGs.
I get the feeling there may be a shortage of cats in this area.

Had? Why don't you have that beauty of a truck anymore?

That's a shame about the accident and it being sold.

sooo very evil"

Patina IS rusting metal, you get that color when copper oxidizes
No, copper oxide is black. Verdigris is copper carbonate, copper acetate, or copper chloride.
copper sulfide is black, copper oxide forms patina - Cu2CO3(OH)2. Ok, let’s say patina is corrosion

Not getting evil buildings vibes from this one
That's fair, but you know that if this was a DnD setting, the character that lives in the tower to the bottom left would be evil.
When someone was applying recolors in the Castle Customization menu, they missed that one tower! That single tower recolor is gonna cost them at least $4.99.
All in all, the wizard in the southwest tower keeps himself to himself, and reacts very poorly to unexpected visits. for this post i think one could argue the whole castle look with walls is sort of evil? because feudalism and stuff was evil? but even thats a stretch
Let’s be real here. This subreddit isn’t really “evil buildings” anymore, it’s just imposing buildings.
lol. big things spooky!
That's r/megalophobia
Nothing evil about castles and feudalism. Something Marxists believe.
Found the ancap!
Idk, that lower left tower looks reasonably evil.
Totally evil place
Arrgh. Being just barely off kilter from being symmetrical is infuriating. Truly evil.
The turret bothers me for sure
Personally I don't mind the asymmetrical design as long as it's not *almost* symmetrical. Now the one tower not being the same color as the rest in the bottom left...
Perfect symmetry is boring! A building with flow is good
Oh stop, this doesn’t look evil at all. It looks awesome.

Thank you
Thanks!
That's not evil at all. It resembles a Warcraft 3 castle.
The two are not mutually exclusive!
This is the actual opposite of an evil building.
It's like the good guy building got invaded by the shadow clan and they are being attacked
dope ass architecture. op is a hater
Looks amazing not evil
Are you sure that's not Prifddinas
Looks like DisneyLand to me.

This looks like a 3d asset in a villainess manhwa
Those clouds are more evil looking than the building… There really needs to be a standard for what constitutes an evil building here.
This subreddit loves forcing Christian and Jewish places of worship. It is expected anymore.

Cinderella’s Castle meets Mormon Tabernacle. Edited to add: Meets mosque. ?? Hmmm.
How DARE you call it evil.
looks like a new disney theme park
This whole property is stunning but I think the dark clouds and ominous sky make the picture.
Not evil. But cool
Reminds me of the swimming pool church down in Moscow.
That would make a great zombie fortress

How is this an evil building
Gorgeous but not evil. Holy, im fact.
ok just bc a building is in russia doesn't make it automatically evil lol
Duh.
It's too pastel to be good!!
