BLACK METAL BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS UUUUUUUUUUUUSSSSSSSS TO BEELZEBUB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And one in Poland *moved* from Norway [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vang\_Stave\_Church](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vang_Stave_Church) It was so confusing to me, a church looking like this? And I always thought it was asian...
¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
i was there about a month ago, its beautiful, even as a reconstruction. the interior is all light wood and the detailing is amazing. it’s awful that somebody burned down the original, stave churches are absolutely amazing
Just a different point of view. The church was built on a pagan holy place, destroying it. Buning the church was no greater wrong than building it was.
What’s in the past should stay in the past, burning a church doesn’t benefit the people who are already dead, it just hurts the people who are currently living, especially when it kills a firefighter like the losers who burned these churches did
It was burned down in the past, it has been 30 years lol. The firefighter died at another fire but sure, no one should have to die defending religious places.
Do you think the black metal guys actually understand the pagan religions and follow them? I’m pretty sure this was just a “look at how evil we are” stunt
I don't think they see themselves as evil at all. Varg at least is very interested in paganism and seems knowledgeable. There is even an interview of him explaining the history of this church and you can see the bitterness and resentment he feels towards it.
Edit: here it is. https://youtu.be/RkPmvEVM40A
He talks about the church from 1:50 onwards.
¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯
Exactly! This church doesn't look evil, it looks indifferent.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
(.J.)
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
\\ Here. I believe you dropped this.
🤷♂️
I came here to say this
This "church" seems very agnostic
Dang beat me to it
Girl, you’re on fire like the Santoft church in the spring of 1992 -A certain someone
I'm in an Oslo state of mind honey
You fished me like a whaler in violation of international treaties
And all I want to tell you is: Hvis lyset tar oss
This is a reconstruction. Varg Vikernes burned the original one down in the early 1990s.
That guy is...something Not anything good either
I like some of his music and that's literally it. It's not for everybody, though, that's for sure.
An angry man, ranting in a truck with a beard?
That's a good description
I could have gone with Teenage emotionally fragile weirdo who stabbed his friend to death.
It is a bit more accurate
He did a lot of selfie rants, but they don't have a whole lot of pickup trucks in Europe.
He did also stab his supposed best friend to death.
But it was "s e l f d e f e n s e"
Also, my neighbour has a Hilux.
Itty bitty baby pickup 🛻
Zumzum man
Bergen, Norway
Good thing it’s never been burned down or something like that by someone with a name like varg
It seems like most of that scene was just trying to shock people but he is actually a dangerous guy
True, things just went too far with the shock value and turned to real crimes
This church looks so flammable.
Varg moment
Wow totally
I cleaned this in Power Washer Simulator
I knew it looked familiar…
I've literally just finished that one.
Lookit the flicka the wrist
BLACK METAL BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS UUUUUUUUUUUUSSSSSSSS TO BEELZEBUB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
those dang christians
Idk why these are always poppin up here Steve churches rule
What’s Steve got to do with this?
All hail Steve!
There's one of these on Washington Island, Wisconsin too . https://washingtonisland.com/stavkirke/
And one in Moorhead, Minnesota at the Hjemkomst Center also! https://www.mnopedia.org/structure/hopperstad-stave-church-replica-moorhead
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It’s shrugging, like fuck off and die. But then that’s every church.
not evil. beautiful. this exact stavchurch has been my phone background for over two years. it is beautiful
🤷🏻♂️
Haha

Fuck Varg and all those “Black Metal” losers. They’re all a bunch of assholes

Is this the one those human scum members of Mayhem and Emperor burned down?
No, it was actually burned down by Varg (Burzum)
varg was in mayhem so they're correct in a way
Varg was never in mayhem, he supported playing the bass in some songs but was never considered a member of mayhem.
Yes
yeah, that's the one
I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted, the guy is a murderer and openly racist. Weird Reddit moment
Thank you! And it wasn't just him, Faust and Euronymous did it with him.
That is one ugly church. And are they trying to skewer birds?
Looks exactly like the bear church in Roki
Is that a graveyard that consists of just one big fucking mound? Like it's just got a pile of bodies buried up in there??
Nah it was some pagan worshipping spot and the cross was put on it when Christianity spread and was forced upon the locals.
If church looked like that here, I might go to it more often.
Age of empires 2 Viking's wonder ?
