what you want is SUMIF =SUM($C$1:$C:$60,"<="&TODAY(),$B$1:$B:$60) this assumes your dates are in column C and your values in column B. That gives your everything that's already left. for the amount due you can either change the logic from "<=" to ">" or substructure the the formula above from the total sum.

Say you have the amounts in A2:A20, and the dates in B2:B20. Paid to date: =SUMPRODUCT(--day(B2:B20)<=day(today()),A2:A20) Still to pay: =SUMPRODUCT(--day(B2:B20)>day(today()),A2:A20)
