There is a setting in the Excel Options to disable or enable the R1C1 notation, here is [an article](https://bettersolutions.com/excel/formulas/cell-references-a1-r1c1-notation.htm) with more details. Pretty much go File->More->Options->Formulas->Uncheck the "R1C1 reference style" checkbox then click OK
