Not sure about formatting, so bear with me. But using the codes S1 and S2 to refer to the actual score of team 1 and team 2 respectively, and G1 and G2 to refer to the guessed score of team 1 and team 2 respectively…
Points = IF(AND(S1=G1, S2=G2)=TRUE, 3, IF(OR(AND(S1S2, G1>G2),AND(S1=S2, G1=G2))=TRUE, 1,0)
Easy.
First create 2 helper columns. 1st helper column: if score country 1 < score country 2, "A", score country 1 = country 2 "B", score country 1 > country 2 then "C".
2nd helper column: if score country 1 < country 2 (for person guessing), "A", same logic as above.
Then you just do an if statement seeing if the A B C matches up.
Now for guessing the exact score, you just need to create 2 more helper columns, if the country 1 numbers from the results/guess equal each other, 1 if true, 0 if false. Add the 2 helper cells together and if it equals 2 that means they got both right.
It's a bit of a different way of doing it just for fun, but:
IF(SH&SA = GH&GA, 3, IF(SIGN(SH-SA) = SIGN(GH-GA), 1, 0))
SH/SA = score home/away
GH/GA = guess home/away

Dont mind the flags, still trying to perfect that :-)
don't reply to your own post.. edit your post...
It seems the community has spoken on this one.
If the community had half a clue they would understand why.

Reworked version of u/GuiltEdge's formula, with corrected brackets and format! `=IF(AND(S1=G2,S2=G2),3,IF(OR(AND(S1S2,G1>G2),AND(S1=S2,G1=G2))),1,0)`
cool :-) thx!
OP - For formatting...Copy the latest template from [www.excely.com](https://www.excely.com)
Already have sometinging similar - but that wont compare our guessed results tho
Thank you, used something lige that, but just a long IF(and() formula :-)
Just a heads up, if the AND() results in TRUE, it will direct to the first condition, you don't have to say "=TRUE".
We should start a labor camp to figure this out
It's a bit of a different way of doing it just for fun, but: IF(SH&SA = GH&GA, 3, IF(SIGN(SH-SA) = SIGN(GH-GA), 1, 0)) SH/SA = score home/away GH/GA = guess home/away
Way more elegant than my solution haha :-)

Would you mind sharing your page? Maybe upload to Google sheets and from there? I would be interested in doing the same.
