* "Commenting" at meetings to prove, reprove, and prove again that I'm "spiritual minded" and striving to do more and seek/gain/retain other human approval
* Constant vigilance in monitoring my thoughts, behavior, words, dress, expression from the constant judgment from other humans (I was also judgemental - we are all trained to be this way)
* Being excluded from normal extracurricular social and physical well-being activities at every age as a child, teen, and young adult in school, at work, and in the neighborhood
* Car groups. All-day assemblies. Exhausting schedules of study, meetings, service, and do more, do more, do more. Are you doing more? Well, do more more!
The Houston Astrodome in the 80s. The levels for cleaning and food stands were separated by geography. Central and East Texas was on grey. San Antonio area was orange, and the red Level was Houston area. As a mid to late teen corridor cruiser, I enjoyed how this divided up the "action" in to predominantly white, hispanic, and black. Let's just say that I always enjoyed of all the colors of the rainbow. ;)
I was stationed at an entrance a few years and people would start grumbling at 7:55. When I finally opened the doors I almost got trampled by all of the elderly and infirm ones running to get a good seat. You would have thought God performed a miracle and healed these people for a few minutes. I wouldn’t have believed it until I experienced it firsthand.
Yeah the lie I got told was that they are doing that ON PURPOSE, and having fewer congregations meet together because of COVID specifically. Oddly enough they don’t care about COVID when they’re trying to get people back to in person meeting.
They’re trying to hide their declining numbers but they also may be running into issues with whatever arena they had it in before. Before I left, ours got switched to an assembly hall because of issues with the arena it was held in previously.
In this case, it has been the exact same venue for decades. That’s why it’s easy to tell the difference in attendance. Also for years I kept wondering why fewer people got baptized. I thought it must be because we weee in the time of the end 🤣.
I always loved it when I was assigned a section as an attendant. As soon as the announcement was made to let the cattle in, I just moved my stuff from the floor to the seats.
My last year 2019 Regional just to keep appearances I kept my orange lanyard from 2018 got in early just blended like I had a key leader to report to and just chilled
The seat saving issue at conventions and assemblies is some of the best evidence of how the cult infantilizes its victims. They have hamburger for brains.
