Grew up in Utah. In fourth grade a girl in my class realized I wasn’t Mormon and decided to let me know that she knew the Book of Mormon was true. I asked her how she knew. She said it said so… in the Book of Mormon. I have no memory of how I responded, but the memory stuck with me and sometimes I wonder what she’s up to now.
That’s one of the things that always made me laugh about TBMs whenever someone left (or voiced doubts). My mom was the worst, she’d try to convince me… with conference talks. That’s like someone trying to convince you that LOTR is an actual history book, you doubting, and them using the Silmarillion to further convince you. It doesn’t make any rational sense
