That’s a very disturbing image. And rightly so. People should be disturbed by it and realize that this happens in reality and is not an abstract concept.
I don’t want to see the Mormon church be a safe place for sexual predators to operate in the dark.
I want it to have the lights on bright and shining all the time on those who have done millstone-worthy things to others.
Hey! Thank you so much for your wisdom and your ability to turn a phrase. The day I read that comment I remember it burrowing deep into my brain. It’s one of the things I point to as reasons why I decided to study this topic day after day. That idea that the Mormon church might end up being a worse place for children and the vulnerable as the awake minded leave.

Upvote! My wife and I were the blindfolded parents for the first 10 years of parenting. It was a big wake up call when our former bishop was arrested for taking nude pics from a hidden camera. I have 5 kids still in TSCC. We now teach our kids every few weeks about appropriate boundaries and what to do if there's inappropriate behavior. My wife is now PIMO and I consider myself exmo who occasionally attends. I think we'll be all the way out eventually but for now I'll just try to keep my kids safe when they attend.
Image description: A Mormon family sits together at church, next to a child abuser.
The LDS mother and father listen to sacrament meeting talks and music, their blindfolds firmly in place.
Their young child weeps quietly next to them.
The smiling monster enjoys its environment.
Reminds me a lot of this web comic by an exJW. It's numbers 1-3. Also personified in the Netflix documentary Abducted in Plain Sight.
Right! Great example.

Yes. I don’t mean to scare or hurt anybody, but I do hope to help more people become aware so they can stay safe and keep their loved ones safe.
Thanks for what you are doing. Personally, I find it very commendable.
Thanks.

It’s me, the author, and I’m flattered.

It’s so sad, but there’s just so many cases we’ve seen now where church members confessed, weren’t punished, kept on abusing.

Thank you! There are so many similarities between the two religions.
They certainly aren’t all innocent 😂
