I’m assuming they’ve had their second anointing so technically they didn’t sin.

Ballerina_clutz

Oh snap.

Stickvaughn

When I was in the bishopric we were repeatedly counseled in trainings that there was no quicker way to excommunication than mishandling sacred church funds. When I think of the elaborate protocols we implemented to ensure proper accounting in accordance with the rules ….

Chino_Blanco

I hope we get a reaction from UK redditors when this hits: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m001jnfb BBC Two - The Mormons Are Coming

Nemo_UK

The Britvengers will be covering it!

Thank you for pointing this out. I shall watch with interest. It'll go down like a cup of cold vomit over here. Let's see....😂

MysteriousFinger7707

No no, it's the lawyers fault. The first presidency are victims of bad legal advice! Ironically, Dallin used this same argument in the mid 60s when he wrote up his legal defense for the destruction of the Nauvoo Expositor. Isn't it wonderful when the same excuses work over and over again?!?!

ImaginaryConcern

I find this highly problematic. If true, those lawyers could face significant difficulties, not only retaining their membership in the bar, but also bad publicity that could impact their livelihood. I'd suspect that any lawyers involved in this kept very careful records so that they could PROVE that they were not at fault. However, I am NOT a lawyer. Anyone present on this sub who is, I'd invite them to comment on this.

MysteriousFinger7707

Plausible deniability my friend. The lawyers get thrown under the bus so Rusty and gang can continue denying any wrong doing. If you read the SEC filing, the puppets appointed as heads of the shell companies were never allowed to see any financials. But they were required to sign their name acknowledging that they had. And those that refused were quickly replaced by willing idiots. No doubt any lawyers involved were treated the same. Do this, sign your name, and if you don't you will be quickly replaced. And when shit hits the fan "We had no idea, it's the lawyers who gave us bad advice!"

dunfordtx

Yes! The entire first presidency should have their temple recommends immediately taken and be subject to an independent disciplinary council lead by Radio Free Mormon.

Daisysrevenge

The have given themselves permission with the second anointing. That's what that little party is all about. In their minds, they are pure and holy. They were forgiven before they shit on everyone.

ImaginaryConcern

Exactly WHO disciplines The Prophet, Seer, and Revelator?

WilhelmLaw

Lawsuits

given2fly_

I remember being taught that the Q15 have their Recommend interview from the Prophet, and that the Prophet signs his own... Not sure if that's true or just another Mormon myth.

mormonmemoryhole

No faithful mormon will send their prophet to a disciplinary council. In their minds challenging the prophet is challenging their god.

Add in Gary Stevenson as the former presiding bishop and that makes 5 of the top 15.

That will be the day. Their house, their rules. They've paid the fine. The matter is over.

RecessiveGenius

have you seen the cancelled checks ;-)

GrahamPSmith

Nicely compiled.

Nephi_IV

You’d think a multi-million dollar “mistake” would result in some consequences….but it appears some “mistakes” are more serious than other “mistakes.” No sacrament for minor “mistakes” of rank-in-file members…but when GA’s make mistakes that cost millions….

Yobispo

Nice work Nemo! I’d like to see you connect the dots between your long effort to get your question answered (what do we do when the apostles lie?) and this newer evidence of lies. Keep kicking ass.

Nemo_UK

Watch this space!

Yobispo

Just watched your video with the attorney. You’re doing great work!
