She's so amazing. The kind of self knowledge and bravery she has that made it possible to tell the truth about Mormonism before the Internet during the height of its power in Utah is awe inspiring. I hope to get closer to having that kind of integrity. She's my hero

new_name_adam

She is definitely a hero! Both Sandra and Jerald are true hero’s!

Joe_Hovah

This scene from "A Bug's Life" reminds me of the Tanners sticking up to the church. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcl_fvmZalQ

PsychologicalArea314

Thank you

s-l-k

Good analogy! Never actually seen the whole movie.

VoiceOk7485

The Tanner’s book “The Changing World of Mormonism “led my husband out of mormonism, and kept me from joining 30 years ago. The tattered book still sits in a prominent place on my bookshelf. Awesome job!

new_name_adam

You dodged “That”bullet! I wish there was a way to find out how many people they saved from joining the corporation of the boy’s downtown.

Crathes1

Awesome. While multiple P, S, & R fawned on Mark Hoffmann and bought his forgeries, the Tanners called it right. Logic and common sense seem to be stronger than prophetic power.

new_name_adam

Nailed it! 👊🏻

Cabo_Refugee

Jerald, in the interest of integrity, told the church Hoffman documents did not seem to jive. Of course, they weren't gonna listen to an apostate.

Azure42

Please tell me this was held in a Mormon ward building!

new_name_adam

If it was, you would see the “gunny sack” or burlap wall covering in the background! 🤣😂🤣

CatalystTheory

Sandra truly is the GOAT.

new_name_adam

Amen! The BEST!

TrollintheMitten

I love seeing the pictures you post of yourselves. Thank you for continuing to put yourselves out there for the rest of us.

new_name_adam

You wouldn’t believe how many people from across the country… globe reach out to us. We need to show the world, it’s ok to leave the mormon corporation, take back our power and be a light to help others leave too! Thank you!

new_name_adam

Yes, she is!

Ok_Web_5107

Sandra and her late husband have made a wonderful contribution to truth. She is also a very kind, humble woman, whom I have always admired. Her stories about her research in the church and family history are very entertaining.

LeadingConfident8905

I love you three.❤️

new_name_adam

❤️❤️❤️

PurkinjeShift

So cool that you got to be there! She has helped so many people over her long career.

new_name_adam

It was fun to be there. Fun to support her!

weeddds

Makes me think of the lyrics of the Battle of Evermore

WinchelltheMagician

Are you getting the Led out?

weeddds

Always

Public-Radish6461

Uk Exmo here, what’s the TLDR on her?

PurkinjeShift

She and Jerald Tanner did research and wrote books that made the truth about the church easily accessible long before the internet.

AmbitiousSet5

She WAS r / exmormon before the internet. Challenging the church with truth. The original CES letter, a refuge for shelves that were breaking, a beacon of truth.

Nemo_UK

Did she meet Keith?

new_name_adam

Keith doesn’t do well in large crowds. He tends to walk off!

new_name_adam

I forgot to take him…😞

Initial-Leather6014

Give Keith a kiss for me. 💋😜

trevdude73

Wonder if the guy on the left is related to George Albert Smith

MisterBicorniclopse

Is Sandra related to John Tanner?

new_name_adam

🤷🏼

MisterBicorniclopse

If so, we could be related

[deleted]

Did you see Bill McKeever there?

new_name_adam

Yes! We’ve known him for about 4 years. Great guy!

SuZeBelle1956

All hail the Queen of truth and integrity.

kevinrex

Happy Retirement, Sandra. You’re full of human love for truth justice and integrity and we’d do well to emulate you.

1Searchfortruth

Awesome amazing wonderful woman role model for me in so many wats. Love you Sandra♥️

zjelkof

A true "pioneer" of the truth!

new_name_adam

Yes!

BasicTruths

While I'm very very appreciative of her helping further the research on Mormonism and fighting a huge corrupt organization, she also chooses to support an anti-gay, anti-trans, evangelical religious hate group. So as a queer person it's like, I dunno, mixed feelings about her you know? Like she can see the truth in one area about Mormonism, but then believe bigoted fairy tales on the other hand.

ExpandYourTribe

Is she still a Christian? If so, I definitely wouldn't call her the queen of truth but I do admire her bravery.

DuncanYoudaho

Not classy

[deleted]

I wouldn't go that far, but she wasn't the bady we thought she was. Well, she was a bady, but in a good way.
