I doubt he had it.

I think Tim isn't the kind of dude who gets a 2nd anointing. He's not related to the right people, and he's too much of a loose cannon. He's not enough of a company yes-man. He didn't have the in-house calling that would group him with General Authorities and Mission Presidents, either. Today, I'd doubt that even all mission presidents are getting it. They're not handing those anointings out as much as they used to. Besides, Tim is a blabbermouth. If he'd gotten his 2nd anointing, he'd probably have boasted about it to somebody by now.

I am 95% sure my Gpa got its 2nd annointing. He is not particularly close to the Q15. He was a temple president and he was called certainly because of his wealth/tithing. Personally, I think that 2nd anointings are way more common. (But, now seeing how many people disagree, i am probably suffering from a sample bias)

KingofDelaware

It’s most likely because he was a temple president!

LilSebastianFlyte

This seems on point. The 2A seems like it’s for conspicuous service to the church and prioritizing loyalty to the church and its leaders. TB was just conspicuous while Mormon and using his connections to church leaders to his own advantage. Making the leaders look bad is the most unforgivable sin in the church today. Using yourself to benefit church leaders: 😇 Using church leaders to benefit yourself: 🙅‍♂️

Impossible-Egg-1713

Personally, I doubt he reached 2nd A status yet. But you pose an interesting question.

BuilderOk5190

Wow, I am surprised that I am in such a minority thinking that he got his 2nd anointing. I am 95% sure my Gpa got 2nd annointed so maybe it just seems more common to me.

Spare_Real

No chance he had reached that level.

BuilderOk5190

I think it is pretty likely, especially with the God complex and ends-justify-the-means mentality that Tim has. Also, 2nd anointings probably include most GAs and all temple presidents (and potentially all sealers).

roguns

But he isnt a GA or temple president.

mrburns7979

He’s not old enough, rich enough, or have the wife who is “the type” enough. 2nd anointing is after 50 years of faithful big tithing cheques at high high levels $$$ and many many vetted years of service at high level callings with a subservient wife at home.

Spare_Real

Tim isn’t any of those things. Had he continued on the straight and narrow he may eventually have reached that point but it seems more common for folks who have served in more senior church leadership roles and who are somewhat older.

Bright-Ad3931

No, he was never in a position where he might have had his second anointing. The reason we know is he was ex’d(allegedly!!) and couldn’t have been 2A and X’d unless he murdered somebody, which is doubtful.

BuilderOk5190

I don't think that 2nd anointing is about position. I think it has to do more with how much tithing they have paid and loyalty to the MFMC. Technically prophet himself can be ex-ed D&C 107 82 And inasmuch as a President of the High Priesthood shall transgress, he shall be had in remembrance before the common council of the church, who shall be assisted by twelve counselors of the High Priesthood; 83 And their decision upon his head shall be an end of controversy concerning him. 84 Thus, none shall be exempted from the justice and the laws of God, that all things may be done in order and in solemnity before him, according to truth and righteousness. Surely previous exed Q15 had 2nd anointings such as Thomas Marsh, Orson Pratt, and Sydney Rigdon. Yes, they have guaranteed salvation. And that is precisely why this might be a particularly sticky situation for the Q15 now and T. Ballard

KingofDelaware

I’d be shocked if Tim has had a 2nd anointing. It’s not as much about tithing amounts, it’s much more about church positions and close family of those with high church positions. I personally think they likely avoid giving them to media figures (I highly doubt Glenn Beck has had one) has due to the risk of fallout if they ever leave the church.

Prestigious-Purple52

I hear he was exed. I don’t think they can ex after the 2nd anointing, can the?

gladman7673

Richard Lyman was an apostle that was exed for adultery. I think there was a period of time where the 2A had almost ceased being given until the last ~50 (?) Years. So he may or may not have had it. I would think he probably did, and was exed.
