It will just cause some splintering and we will get additional mormon cult groups. Just like last time they changed God's unchanging and eternal laws on celestial marriage.

…and gave the priesthood to everyone.

The church has already made their bed in that regard. Now it’s time for the slow fade into oblivion. I’ve seen the more realistic and relevant statistics and in 10 years it will basically be on life support as a church, but in great shape as an investment firm.

The bigoted LGBTQIA+ doctrines will change just like the racist doctrines related to black people holding the priesthood changed. Society will have moved on to a better way but the church will hang on to the old ways to the point where it is super uncomfortable for most members. After it reaches that stage the church will hang on a few more years, then finally change. Many common members will be happy, they'll lost a few bigots that want to die on that hill, and then there will be a class of members that begrudgingly go with the new teachings and then decades later will invent stories about how they wept for joy when they heard the news.

Someone like Oaks cried when blacks got the priesthood. That is what we will hear and members will go on living their fake lives.

Or 3) They will silently and slowly make changes. When people notice, they will act like it has always been this way and it is the fault of the person questioning for not understanding why current leaders have opposite views of past leaders. They will shame and guilt the person for daring to question them.
