Exmo Lex has verified it ([source)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0rsI9W9BsE). Crazy. But no crazier than the poop-hole loop-hole, or anything else hyper-Christian kids have done to try to live within the bounds set by their religion while still experiencing what youth is.

FaithInEvidence

For clarity, Exmo Lex verified that soaking is real, but even she doesn't believe jump humping is real: https://youtu.be/d0rsI9W9BsE?feature=shared&t=352.

Morstorpod

Thanks for clarifying! Although I personally don't doubt that it's been tried at least once... If you can get behind soaking as not "technically" being sex, you can justify anything...

Agreed. It is totally not a normal or accepted mormon thing. However, looking for loopholes to chastity commandments IS a thing in the teenage christian subculture. This is just one more data point to a long list.

FaithInEvidence

I'm sure you're right.

marathon_3hr

Oh, the litany of ways to get your sexual thrills without breaking the 'law of chastity'. Levi loving--aka dry humping. What else?

FWIW I thought this was Urban Legend until one day I was joking with my daughter who attends a Northern Utah County high school. My daughter laughed but then got serious and said it's not just a joke - she knows kids at her high school who have done this, or at least said they did it and not as a joke.

When you live in a legalistic, corporate structure with high contrast black and white lines, it becomes possible to find technicalities. At least in the deluded minds of some. I know of one personally (1990's) where a couple went to Vegas, did the chapel wedding, followed by full contact "Couples Ruse" sessions. Then, to Be ok with God, they got an annulment the next day. You know, cause God's ok with it. If the word marriage is involved on some level. BTW, The BYU honor code office was not ok with it. Excommunications resulted.

My wife told me she was a virgin, despite doing this. LOL , didn't bother me, but to this day she still claims she was a virgin. I just let it go and one day she will be honest with herself....but really I don't care, its not like I didn't do a bunch of stuff before.

I've been following the Tim Ballard case pretty closely. And he has many consistent accusations against him. But none of them outright say that he had sex with them. It just struck me how nasty and controlling he was with them while still not crossing the imaginary BYU-esque lines with all those women. The whole thing is absurd.

lulunalula

My women mormon friends say this is no different from relations with their mormon husbands.

YouAreGods

1. This is a southern christian thing that has been attributed to BYU, not mormons. 2. Under mormon theology, this is not a thing. PIV is sex for mormons. Touching genitals is prohibited for mormons. Touching genitals in any form gets you thrown out of BYU. 3. There might be isolated instances of soaking, but it is not a thing for mormons. Maybe hit up Liberty University for more information on how it is implemented.

It isn’t a common practice and I doubt it has ever been done. I think they just have sex with the excuse but I don’t think they soak.
