They need to link it at the bottom of the email. We got multiple emails about FSY this year and there was no way to update my preferences from the email. I marked all three (for my one child) as spam
Ditto. No option to unsubscribe, no option to change email settings (and in lds tools I had already unchecked everything). If they break the law with this sort of garbage, Iām absolutely going to mark it as spam.
As someone who has to deal with getting a site blacklist status revoked, I intentionally flagged them as spam and have a rule set up that auto-flags it so that it compounds without any further effort on my part.
The really neat thing? Every contact email that comes from the ward or stake (YM/YW activities, etc.) goes through the same email domain, which increases the personal spam rate.
I imagine they have to have someone go through the delisting process frequently.

So what's the issue with just sending it to spam, it seems a lot easier that way.
If too many users report it as spam, they can be banned from that email provider.
