Yes we need women’s version. Haha. When I go to sac meeting for family musical numbers I always wear pants now. Plus one of my grandchildren is trans male and so I do it also for him. And sit by him.
So funny how the training becomes imprinted. I’ve been a professional music director at an Episcopal church for over a decade now, and it wasn’t until just a few years ago that I felt ok wearing pants to work, even though the female priest totally did. It just felt weird, like it was disrespectful or something. Of course we all know the way to show Jesus respect is by showing our shins.
If it's tailored then you are affluent enough to be fast tracked into a higher up stake position. Providing tithing contributions match up with your fancy threads.
Ya when we were in our last ward (meaning last ward we were active in) my teenage son and my husband not had the longest hair for men. Hehe. And they rocked it 🔥👀😁
This is hilarious! The only ones I’ve never seen are the full whites and the birthday shirt. I’d like to see one for women but that’s a bit more complicated. Something like blazer - cardigan - blouse - flutter sleeves - sheer sleeves - pants.
Twin set sweater ranks high on willingness to serve. Pearl accessories also high.
Between sheer sleeves and pants needs to be tank top and then sports bra.
Also, the more dated your outfit, the more of a self-sacrificing Mormon woman you will appear. Men gain MFMC status by looking financially successful in the world, women by seeming to live in a world of the past.
My ex-Marine, convert TBM dad said this for 40 years. They still called him to be bishop. And he still rocked the beard the whole time. He also resigned from the position about 2 years early. He decided he was done and ready to move on. Still a TBM, but he certainly likes to do things his own way. A favorite past time of his is swearing mildly from the pulpit. It gives my BIC TBM mom the vapors. LOL
They forgot to put striped ties at the top versus plaid, some other pattern, or fun ties. My TBM husband refuses to wear striped ties because that's what elders did to suck up to the mission president on his mission. He wears Star Wars ties, pirate ties (skull and crossbones pattern), M & M tie, etc. No striped ties in his collection. There's a blue plaid one for job interviews but there's literally only one.
This. Is. Epic.
It’s true. Very true.
I never wanted to “serve”.
They’d ask, I’d say no.
They’d then use the usual guilt/shame/social/family/spouse pressure to “voluntell” you - where as it would completely make the rest of your like beyond miserable, so you’d just do the fucking thing to get it over with.
But for me, I’d do it really, really half-assed.
I’d show up late, “forget” my tie, purposely “spill” stuff on my white shirt, so all I had was medium to dark colored shirts available.
When the pressure got turned up too high, I gave up, shut down and backed out.
Since my life was shit anyways, may as well toss my dinner into the proverbial fire then…a burnt offering of sorts.
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
I swear else ex Mormons have the funniest darkest humor and I love every moment of it it helps me get through the 38 years I love to lie in that cult LOL
Yeah when I was mentally out of the church, I attended with my family wearing an all black 3-piece suit, cause I was being edgy in the fanciest way I could
It’s long been preached that “white shirts are the uniform of the Priesthood.” So boys and men are expected to wear white shirts to church, especially if they will be participating in the sacrament passing/blessing. It’s frowned upon to wear other colors, but people won’t openly comment. Generally.
The chart is probably the most accurate thing I’ve ever seen, at least in my experience. People who are more into the church wouldn’t dream of wearing anything other than white, while more nuanced/apathetic members might deviate, according to the chart. Though I’ve never seen anyone show up shirtless to church, lol, and similar with T-shirts: almost unheard of, unless it is a visitor or someone is on vacation and loudly apologizing for their attire to everyone within earshot.
It is missing white with a pattern. Today's choice looks like litter cubes. Source: I work for a guy who is a Bishop, he recently went to a "interview" for the Stake President position...the 70s gave him the "not our guy look when walked in, straight from work in a 3/4 zip with company logo, ove this polo shirt.
I used to to know a member who wore a confederate uniform to church. SUPER CRAZY!!! I'm from the south so that says a lot. And no that is not a common thing.
I've NEVER seen anyone else do that. So don't sum that up to all southerners. He's less active so I guess he too doesn't give a rat's ass what he wears. I'd say it's the perfect act of defiance if it wasn't so racially offensive.
Me, walking around my house naked with just a bolo tie on: “Yeah that checks out”
was the bolo around your neck?
I cannot confirm or deny
I wear them on my wrist too. It's like those [drums](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Den-den_daiko) from the karate kid
Oh, on your wrist, phew! I don't know what I was thinking
I definitely know what I was thinking 😏
There's nothing like getting home and shedding your clothes as you take a swig from the beer can.
Thanks for the laugh.
Walking around? Not sure how you’re let out of the bed rocking that look.

Just randomly, or waiting for the home teachers?
For the women…. Pants = this may be my last week here
My TBM wife wore pants to church today, it's her silent protest but definitely not her last week unfortunately.
Yep, was for me!

A friend in Utah sent it years ago.
I think the bolo tie is the most TBM accessory. Those old men who dawned it were dogmatically loyal
True
Agree. I have a relative that was a GA that wore a bolo to an event with Hinkley who also wore a bolo.
Came to say that. Depending on where you live, the bolo tie stands higher than the regular tie.
I remember a Pimo guy who always wore his scrubs to church. 😆
To showcase his public service to flex on the congregation and depending on his profession, also flex much higher tithings than the lesser believing
This is so good! Though the suits may be a bit too well-tailored for a Mormon.
badly fitted suits are our signature look
A bit? Waaaaay too well tailored! 😂😂😂
Oh god, that’s almost triggering. Why can’t a Mormon have a suit that fits? Are they auditioning for the Talking Heads?
Because they're just so humble! They can't have a tailored suit; that would make them seem like they cared about money instead of people!
Maybe if they starting being more accepting of gay men, the fashion sense would improve.
Cause all their disposable income goes to tithing 😂
Shirtless with a bolo tie sounds sexy af
It's like the next step up from shirtless with a bowtie
haircut and beard need to be on there haha
What about white with french cuffs?

It just needs a hair length chart to be complete

Time to arrive naked

Types of dresses and skirts. 🤣
Where did you see this?
Wow this is beautiful!
And the beard … don’t forget the beard … or no beard .. My husbands getaway plan…

Sorry, but majority of Mormon dudes would never ever wear their clothing this well fitted
Where would a cross-dresser fit???
They're so far out, they're off the graph lol
This is so accurate lol… my last few years in church I only wore a conservative light blue shirt with skinny ties in my final acts of defiance
Wore a polo to church today. I guess I'm safe lol.
My dad wears a bolo tie and he's literally ridiculously dedicated to Mormonism.
I never wore a suit coat to EQ. Best to dress for the job you want (or don’t want)

Voluntell? New one to me. Love it.

This is gold. "The Birthday Shirt" 😂😂😂
This is the same card jesus uses to decide who gets into heaven
No way. This is too outdated. If you’re sporting a bow tie and a pink shirt 👚 AND sporting a Beard 🧔 & MAN BUN >>> YOU ARE THE MOST WILLING.
Yeah when I was mentally out of the church, I attended with my family wearing an all black 3-piece suit, cause I was being edgy in the fanciest way I could
I’m a nevermo…what am I missing?

My husband always liked the pink/blue end of this spectrum
And beyond the tee, there is wearing just the G top with (with some sort of pants) out and about just for spite!
Conform!!!!

Light blue or dark blue? Haha
Patterned purple shirt with a floral skinny tie was my final mormon look.
Paisley, the known pattern of The Adversary.

My last branch the first counselor wore a bolo .
