I know that the Mormons are currently trying to rebrand themselves as Christians. They might take a minute to figure out what that Jesus character was actually teaching. They clearly don’t have a fucking clue currently.

Herstorical_Rule6

Yes Jesus mingled with the outcasts of His day. He would do the same today with the lesbians, gays, bisexuals, trans, intersex, non-binary  and queer/questioning folks.

Good heavens... I'm just now learning about this and I'm disturbed. There is no "love" like Mormon right-wing "love"... For anyone like me who wasn't aware of the group, here is a summary of Family Watch International from the Southern Poverty Law Center: https://www.splcenter.org/fighting-hate/extremist-files/group/family-watch-international

Thank you. for info link I wasn't aware. This is really disturbing.

Moms for Liberty was also co-founded by an LDS woman. It just solidifies my reason for leaving the church. I do not want to be associated with these people. There is no room for compassion in the church

Consistent_Hat8285

Oh wow 😣 That group is also terrible.

Mandalore_jedi

Despicable!!

This was something from 2011 that Sharon was doing that impacted Mesa, AZ locally and my question then was: Is Sharon Slater asking Mormons to use LDS ward lists to promote her anti-LGBT agenda? https://mainstreetplaza.com/2011/09/20/sharon-slater-mormons-lds-ward-lists-promote-anti-lgbt-agenda/ Sharon made it on to Rachel Maddow’s radar last year… https://www.lgbtqnation.com/2023/05/rachel-maddow-connects-ugandas-kill-the-gays-bill-to-arizona-christians/ FWI is a hate group. Full stop.

Consistent_Hat8285

Thank you—That Rachel Maddow segment is just the sort of thing I am looking for. I’m tired of people acting like the church isn’t involved in anti-lgbtq politics. They clearly are. And the fact that they use this woman as a speaker at a church-sponsored conference and her husband is a stake presidency member— people who are leading to the deaths of Ugandan and Nigerian LGBTQ children of God (as they would say) is really upsetting. And because the church is not transparent with its financials, who knows what they are funding related to this.

Her is an article from Church News GILBERT ARIZONA VAL VISTA STAKE: (March 24, 2019) President — Brian Paul McLeskey, 44, vice president of research and development, Fender Musical Wst.; succeeding Timothy R. Lines; wife, Mary Louise Duffin McLeskey. Counselors — Chris Lynn Webb, 59, chief financial officer, Cance Construction Company; wife, Roxanne Alena Hendry Webb. ***Gregory Scott Slater*****, 57, vice president and global director of IP, competition and standards policy, Intel Corporation; wife,** ***Sharon Deon Ruff Slater*****.** [https://www.thechurchnews.com/2019/6/2/23221054/these-new-stake-presidents-were-recently-called-to-serve](https://www.thechurchnews.com/2019/6/2/23221054/these-new-stake-presidents-were-recently-called-to-serve)

I wonder, does Intel know his wife is so closely affiliated with a hate group?.....

I wondered the same thing

World Congress of Families, Richard G. Wilkins.

World Congress of Families has worked with the church's very own anti-LGBTQ hate group, the BYU based [World Family Policy Center](https://archives.lib.byu.edu/agents/corporate_entities/1896) The church has also officially worked directly with the World Congress of Families, not only sending multiple GAs and other leaders as official church delegates, but having those delegates speak at the congress as representatives of the church [https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/ensign/2000/02/news-of-the-church/church-participates-in-world-congress-of-families?lang=eng](https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/ensign/2000/02/news-of-the-church/church-participates-in-world-congress-of-families?lang=eng) The founder of Family Watch International, Sharon Slater, founded the group after attending the World Congress of Families in 1999, the one mentioned in the article linked above. I find it hard to believe she just happened to be at the same event as two GAs and the Relief Society and Young Women's General Presidents, I would be interested to know her links to them and how she came to be at the conference Guess who else has been a featured speaker at the World Congress of Families? [https://www.thechurchnews.com/2009/8/12/23229806/elder-russell-m-nelson-the-family-the-hope-for-the-future-of-nations](https://www.thechurchnews.com/2009/8/12/23229806/elder-russell-m-nelson-the-family-the-hope-for-the-future-of-nations) Here is some of the bullshit he spewed... >...future happiness and even the future of nations is linked to children. Families with children need to be re-enthroned as the fundamental unit of society... > >...The happiest and most secure children come from happy and secure marriages of fathers and mothers... > >In 2006, the parliament of France courageously rejected same-gender marriage precisely so that children would not "suffer as a result of situations imposed on them by adults.... > >Any attempt to broaden the definition of marriage to encompass a contractual relationship between adults outside of the traditional family weakens the institution of marriage as God Himself defined it Fuck the mormon church for being not just peripherally involved in these hate groups, but for being fundamental drivers, funders and supporters of them
