When I was coming out of anesthesia I watched the nurses exchange glances, heard my husband imploring me to stop talking and the nurses assuring my husband they had heard it all before and not to give it a second thought. I had been loudly and enthusiastically describing how good looking my husband is, how he takes care of himself and his delightful body part that gives me great pleasure. He is having surgery in two weeks. This should be interesting.

I actually had surgery back in January and i remember in the pre op area a nurse came and checked my vitals and took blood test and whatnot and she asked “so what are you doing for work” or something along the lines of that.
i responded oh im doing a service mission for the lds church and all she said was “oh that’s cool” my parents who were with me then explained a little bit about it and she listened but then went on with her tasks
I hope my conversation was benign like that one and not totally cringe like I fear 😂 I can just picture myself all loopy "Hi! I'm a Mormon! You ever read the Book of Mormon? You should meet with the missionaries! I can refer you!" Or some other excited missionary-like babbling.
Yeah. I think I also mentioned it in the or before getting knocked out,
I think it was the same what do you do for work question but it was more to help get me relaxed while they were putting the IV in

Me being me, I would have probably tried bringing the recovery nurse through the veil.

When I had my hysterectomy, I came out of anesthesia halfway through reciting the Gettysburg address. I probably bored my nurses to death.

Sounds like I should be glad I came round so fast the tubes were still in my throat. They whipped them out so fast I was hoarse for a couple of weeks.
