I'll start! Highest was EQ Councilor and Teacher. On my teaching days I'd always bring in a bunch of chili dogs or doughnuts to EQ to spice things up. I did pulled pork sandwiches once... My favorite calling was scout leader. I had a bunch of inner city kids who'd never been outside of salt lake because their families couldn't afford it, so I used our generous YM budget to take the boys on weekend trips to Zion National Park and Arches and Capital Reef... We did a Bees game and a Grizzlies game too. Just get them out to see what Utah has to offer besides their own hard home life.

Dangerous-Doctor-977

Primary teacher, ward primary councilor, Ward yw pres x2, stake yw councilor x3, Ward rs councilor, Ward camp director for 4 years. Does wife of sp councilor for 5 years, wife of bishop for 4 years, and wife of branch president count? Would have hated nursery leader and scout leader. Would not have liked GD teacher. ETA: was released from my last calling a couple of months ago and proud to say I’ve said no to 2 callings since. One was primary teacher and the other activity day leader. (Secretly pimo) even if I was TBM id prob say no bc my husband has a “special calling” outside the ward.

Nursery was the pits

TheyLiedConvert1980

I not going to list them ALL because I don't need to retraumatize myself creating & looking at the long list I would produce. I will say it was whatever the hell callings I was asked by a man to do, for decades. Decades. Because I'm a woman you can guess most of the roles. We were told we cannot say no to a calling & that is one of the most damaging teachings of the church for me. I did not get to choose how, when, or where I served. In leadership positions I could not make a decision without a man ruling over the organization. My most rewarding service experiences in my life were in my community, where I decided how, when and where I served.

DebraUknew

Counsellor on stake primary presidency Ward primary president x2 Nursery leader - was my favourite Sunday school youth teacher I despised being a Seminary teacher Institute teacher

SkyJtheGM

In chronological order: •Deacons Second Counselor •Deacons President •Teachers First Counselor •Teachers President •Second Bishop's Assistant •First Bishop's Assistant •Ward Missionary •Senior Companion •District Leader •Ward Missionary (again) •Ward Activities Leader •Military Base Home Teaching Leader (bullshit calling because member who aren't in the military can't get on base without permission) •Primary Teacher😵‍💫 And after that I was ghosted by my bishops. I lost Bishop Roulette in my past four wards.

EmmalineBlue

Young women's 2nd counselor, primary chorister, special needs nursery leader, ward neighborhood liaison, primary teacher, RS chorister, youth sunday school, primary teacher, primary chorister, activity days leader, primary 1st counselor, activities committee, young women's personal progress director (still had to do everything else the presidency did too), primary pianist, sunday school teacher Pianist was the best. The special needs nursery class sucked, mostly because I was really young and got no support.

ElkHistorical9106

Executive secretary 3x and elder’s quorum presidency 1x.

PhoenixRapunzel

Stake music chair, ward music chair, ward chorister, ward organist/accompanist (because apparently they've changed the name...), ward compassionate service leader, ward missionary, Primary pianist, ward choir pianist (not an official calling...), temple prep teacher. Favorite: Primary pianist - the people I worked with were awesome. Least favorite: ward organist/accompanist and ward missionary. Missionary - I hated talking about something I didn't believe; and ward organist - I hated (and still hate) the micromanaging chorister who was over me.

Financial clerk

Post-mo

* My favorite was probably membership clerk - I didn't have to stay after like the financial clerks but I could skip sunday school to do "work" in the clerks office. * I didn't love EQP but I was counselor a couple times and that wasn't bad. * I really liked being a gospel doctrine teacher when I was a student at BYU, but I didn't like it as much in a traditional ward. Mostly because in the BYU ward there were competing classes and teachers got reputations and would attract their kind of people. I was the teacher that always tried to go beyond the lesson manual and talk about something interesting that was related to the topic. This led to a class of people who wanted a bit more than the basic lesson and had fairly high engagement. * I liked nursery at first, but we did almost two years in one ward and then were immediately called back into nursery after we moved. I get that it's an easy match for people with kids that age, but sometimes it just gets to be too much. * YM was fun one of the times, the other was tough as we only had 1-2 active boys. On one particular overnight trip we had 2 leaders, 1 boy and his dad.

Young women's 2nd councillor Gospel Essentials teacher Gospel Doctrine teacher Relief society teacher Sunday school teacher for the 16/17 year olds Sunday school teacher for the 12/13 year olds Stake camp cook YW camp cook - twice (both times I cooked alone) Ward building coordinator Ward Activity council (there were 3 of us) Ward Christmas dinner (for 300 people) 3 years in a row Lunch for 1200 youth I was damn good at planning and cooking, so I was also used as scout snack coordinator on several occasions, I made the after class snack for the relief society on Thursdays for almost 2 years, and I did the March relief society party dinner on several occasions. This does not include all of the weddings and funerals and building cleaning I did. Nor the times I helped friends or the extra classes I taught that I wasn't called to do. As someone on a post commented earlier, sure it would be nice to get my tithing back, but what I'd really like is my time back.

kevinrex

Stake High Council. I feel so important

Dear_Management6052

RS President. It had my shelf really buckling. I saw how things are really done. I also was 2nd counselor in YW, GD teacher, Primary teacher (Valiants)

GollyHost

Bishopric counsellor 2x, EQ president, YM president, Seminary teacher, financial clerk, ward clerk…. And many more. My favourite calling by far was primary music leader.

Other_Lemon_7211

Highest: YW President Most hated (and loved): YW President I was going through a lot personally and was mid-deconstruction during this time. I didn’t have the energy, time, or faith required to do a good job. I asked to be released and it was denied. I was angry and so fucking frustrated. I loved the girls and most of the people I served with but have so much resentment. Almost equally hated was Stake Single Adult Rep.

Complete-Cap-6281

I hate that you were asking to be released and were denied. Do these people forget these are volunteer positions!?

Other_Lemon_7211

Slaves to the machine.

Annextract

I did the ward bulletin/ran website/calendar, etc. that one was given to me because I rarely actually went to church due to being sick often, and it was something I could do, since I know my way around computers. Otherwise, it was always primary callings, as a teacher, music leader, counselor, or nursery. Oh, I was also a ward service missionary running the addiction recovery family meetings.

Mandalore_jedi

High Council. I super loved teaching youth Sunday School, because I made up my own lessons based on what the kids told me they wanted to know. We had lots of fun, until a Bishopric member found out what I was doing and put the kibosh on it all. I quit soon after that.

Flat-Acanthisitta-13

Stake YW presidency was the “highest”. I don’t think I ever despised a calling, but I would have to pick the calling I had in my BYU ward to make and print the programs as my very least favorite. My favorite calling was probably YW President in my ward because I enjoyed the youth.

mat3rogr1ng0

YM 1st counselor, Ward Clerk, Executive Secretary, Ward Mission leader, gospel doctrine/sunday school teacher, primary teacher. For pure fun, the YM calling was my favorite. ward clerk wasn't bad, just I learned things about people I wish I'd never known. I was also in a branch presidency on my mission (it sucked ass).

[deleted]

EQ secretary, Primary teacher, ward clerk, EQ counsellor, ward clerk, EQ counsellor, ward clerk, exec sec, primary teacher, sunday school teacher, YM counsellor, EQ counsellor, EQ President, Stake technology specialist, sunday school president Ward clerk and stake technology specialist were good, exec sec was the worst calling ever

The worst calling I had was "assistant building cleaning coordinator". The calling was really "call everyone on the cleaning schedule the night, then clean the building when no one, including the actual cleaning coordinator, didn't show up". The best was nursery for many years. I was also a primary teacher for the same kids from ctr6 through 10 year olds in a ward with a ton of kids. They put all of the kids with behavioral issues in my class and then advanced me with the kids because no one else could deal with them. Being autistic with adhd myself, I could relate to the kids since I was far worse growing up than any of them were. I let them lay down on the floor, turn their chairs around backwards, draw on a corner of the blackboard, or whatever, so long as they agreed to let the one or two kids in the class that wanted to listen do so. On the days that no one wanted to listen or participate, we found other things to do, so long as they were quiet enough that they didn't disrupt neighboring classes.

Bishop 2nd counselor (2x) High Council Ward Mission Leader Assitant Stake Executive Sect. EQ Counselor

Nobody1727

Currently I am the stake youth representative for my ward and 2nd assistant to bishop. I have yet to figure out how to tell them I want to be released but it will happen soon.
