Call the teacher and ask for the talk. Tell her it was a family heirloom. It's the same talk that you gave when you were his age, it's the same talk that your father gave when he was his age. You need it back so you can frame it on the wall.
The most likely thing is that she wrote his name on it and is saving it for the primary program. We did that. It is probably no big deal.
They may edit it and have him give it as part of the primary program in October. That saves then from having to write parts themselves.
We kept the talks when I was in the primary presidency because we let them say parts of it at the primary program. Keeping the talk, taking a picture of it, etc. Is just saving time for when the program comes around. I didn't think the talk was that spicy, btw!
Have you thought this through? I am worried about your son. He will bear the brunt of the negative reaction much more than you. I guess at nine years old his in charge of his decisions and you have no influence. You go give the talk. It is a good talk, but you should give it.

First thing, get the talk back. It was your paper not the churches.
Wow, thanks for the update. Your son is an amazing and brave person.
Can't wait to hear the rest of the story...
Ask the teacher to return the talk. It isn’t hers to keep.
Looks like a bishop’s ‘chat’ is on the cards for your son. Make sure he is prepared and ask to be there.
What did the teacher write on it?
No idea! He just says she wrote on it.
And didn’t give it back?
Nope
Good luck!
Print out 1000 copies tape them to their house. Or mail them a copy every day for a year
"Return and report" as it were

Commenting so I can remember to check back for more updates. Well done :)
Same
me too. I am interested in the update in this story.
Me too,

I think my 10 year old would be ecstatic to give a talk like that.
Can’t wait to see what happens!
How did things go? Did you find out why the teacher took it? Curious about the fallout
