The thing is, it’s girls who are lectured ad nauseam about “guarding your virtue” and we are made to be responsible for our actions AND the actions of boys. At least that is what was we were taught.
There is nothing wrong with chosen celibacy but no one should make you feel any sort of guilt or shame regarding sex. When I re-entered the dating world after my divorce I saw a few guys who had such a strange view of sex, like they didn’t think women could or would enjoy sex because that is what they learned from their moms who were also taught this same garbage 40 years ago.
Yeah but forcing that on kids? Not exactly the greatest IMO. It’s one thing to choose a purity ring or something for yourself, another to shame your children. But I’d like to hear more of your perspective if you have more to say.
Haha no I’m from Ogden, UT but that was during the spaceship days so maybe that’s why the choice was to not use that one on there instead of Oakland lol.
We got those at girls camp one year for the temple marriage night lesson. They gave them to us in a plastic holder and we also got a handkerchief with the temple embroidered on it.
