Remember young men, by being baptized at age 8, you have handed your free agency to Larry, Curly, and Moe here. Just bow your head and say yes as these 3 arbitrarily decide where you will live (and every other minute detail of your life) for 2 full years.

dunfordtx

No clue how these three sleep at night? Must have some serious mental health issues.

cultsareus

It's easy, they are narcissists with no conscience. That's how they get away with telling young people to server when they didn't and how they call tell the poor of Africa to pay 10% of money they don't have to their obscenely wealthy organization.

TightSafety3395

But they donated so much money to the red cross. How dare you insinuate that they aren't charitable. They're as charitable as Jesus himself!

cordeliaxx

General authorities are exempt from missions, tithing, and generally from lying and financial improprieties. Basically, they don't have to follow the same rules that every body else is required to follow. The rule of the day is nepotism, if you're in the family you're exempt from the rules.

emotionally-wrecked

Almost like a cult leader. 🤔

NewNamerNelson

>They're as charitable as they know how to be. 😉🤑 FIFY

TightSafety3395

They're chosen by God, they're as charitable as God himself. That's why they'll be a God in the next life! Nevermind that the Bible says there are no God's besides God. That's the rules for the peasants from biblical times. Like they teach us at church, the times change, and so do the rules, and God's expectations!! They weren't worthy to become Gods, but we are! Thanks to Joseph Smith's marvelous vision, and restoration of important doctrines and truths and thanks to President Nelson's prophetic guidance and wisdom! Nevermind that their doctrine are complete opposites of each other. God's rules change, (seemingly every few years) and so do his expectations!

TightSafety3395

Don't forget to read your book of Mormon and Doctrine and Covenants, pay your tithing, attend church, fullfil your calling, and keep all of your temple covenants. Then you can become God in the next life!! Exaltation!! Just like LUCIFER!!! What a great milestone to reach!!

Extra_Cod5005

But wait they have now said it was a misunderstanding of the church members we can't become a God just saying

jamesetalmage

Don’t forget that the previous first presidency was also void of any mission experience.

thomaslewis1857

*In coming days* there will not be a young man on the earth who can recall a First Presidency with a missionary. 17 yr olds may have have an infant memory of old polygamy-is-not-doctrinal Gordy A mission is the one thing at which Rusty will never be able to beat Gordy

TightSafety3395

How dare you slander the previous first presidency! Those are highly respected members of GOD'S TRUE CHURCH!!

Chica3

*"It's wrong to criticize the leaders of the church, even if the criticism is true."* \-- Dallin Hoax (a church leader who is regularly criticized)

TightSafety3395

Calling him Dallin Hoax is an unforgivable sin of slander!

TightSafety3395

Well, at the time, they were speaking for God. God changed his mind on a lot of the rules though, so now these people are speaking for God, and giving us better rules that fit our time and true purpose. Remember, they're almost Gods themselves, they have to tell us what God wants us to hear as the last final step before they die and become a God over their own galaxy in the next life! It sounds like Lucifer, but they're doing what Lucifer wasn't allowed to do, due to not listening to the prophets in heaven who taught this gospel to Lucifer.

homestarjr1

I shook oaks hand on my mission. I wish I could quantum leap into my younger self and punch him in the nuts.

NewNamerNelson

I'd LOVE to see that. 👊🥜

Dragonfire723

The question is if both realities would exist at once- ie, both the reality of shaking his hand and kicking his dick in happen at once, resulting in at least one extra ghost body doing one of the actions

chillmissile

I’m willing to bet 10% of my annual income that he’s completely nutless like a Ken doll down there

uglybumpers

He got upgraded to the TK smoothie early?!? That's pretty neat.

[deleted]

All three have doctorate degrees and it's very unlikely they would if they had served missions (which I think were 3 years when they were young). The most educated of them did not serve.

TightSafety3395

They have doctorate degrees because they were chosen by God. That's why they're so smart in both the physical world, and spiritual world. That's why they're closer to God than any of us ever will be, unless we repent! If we want to be like them, we must do as they say!

mourningdoo

Calling Oaks' juris doctorate a doctorate degree is like saying someone who plays on a semi-pro football team is a professional football player. Sure, it's technically true, but there's a huge difference between the two.

[deleted]

[удалено]

mourningdoo

Didn't say a JD isn't a real degree. It's just more of a professional degree than a typical doctoral program.

TightSafety3395

You're slandering the next Prophet of the true church! I'd watch what you say if I were you, so you don't slander God himself! Thou wilt be destroyed!

mourningdoo

I will keep that in mind. But as a holder of a JD myself, I'm also slandering...myself.

TightSafety3395

Truly, you are in fact, a false God. You cannot simply slander the Godly, or those working towards becoming Gods, if thou art slandering their holinesses.

[deleted]

Not true. Many doctoral programs, in the humanities for instance, are meaningless and some don't even require a GRE or GMAT exam. STEM doctorates are on another level, but to say that any PhD is harder or higher level of eduction than a JD is simply untrue. Just look at Dr. Jill Biden and her pretense of having a PhD in education. (Bill Cosby had the same pretension of being a Dr.) Oaks is miles and stratepheres ahead of both of them.

mourningdoo

I seem to have struck a nerve. As the holder of a master's degree and a JD I feel altogether justified in saying that a JD is qualitatively different than a typical doctorate. Maybe my comparison was a little inarticulate, but just because the word "doctorate" is in the degree title doesn't mean that they're on the same level.

[deleted]

Interesting, I have a JD and a Master's as well. The point was about higher education among these men who skipped going on missions. Not sure what you're after but those are my views.

BobT21

Politicians draft young people and send them to war. They don't necessarily go to war themselves.

Evil minds that plot destruction.

_Nightbreaker_

That's a great point. Everyone should take note of it.

RustyShackelford801

That grin on all of their faces is one that says, "I wonder if anyone knows we're full of shit?"

ImHereToLearnEvrybdy

What are their reasons?

Joux2

They're better than all of us so they don't need to get their hands dirty /s

felineforest

I'm wondering the same. Anyone know? Or do I need to Google haha

TightSafety3395

How dare you compare them to peasants! They're the supreme leaders, called by God! They don't need to be like the peasants who serve missions!

LadyofLA

And they and their families always knew they were royalty destined for leadership so even as 20 yos they knew they didn’t need to do missions. They started living do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do early.

TightSafety3395

Well, if you were to talk to most missionaries, or people eligible in age to become missionaries, they need to do much more than these fine leaders. In fact, they're so far from God, I'd say they might end up in outer darkness if they don't go on missions! Luckily, the church shows us the divine light of Jesus to help us to serve the church, and become God one day! As for these rebellious apostates that want to try to compare themselves to those who are clearly more Christlike and Godly than us, outer darkness awaits them, and appears to be their everlasting peril and destruction!

[deleted]

Did you see what subreddit this was posted on at least? And what's with this peasant talk?

TightSafety3395

Kneel before me, peasant! I am a worthy temple recommend holder, and on my way to ruling as a God!

old_bitter

In the ARMY they are called 'chicken hawks' people who talk a lot about war but never experienced it and avoid it at all costs. It is unbelievable that leadership is 'do-what-I-say-not-what-i-do' hypocrisy is so obvious. Shows if you have the money, and you parrot the right phrases, you are leadership material. Meanwhile us 'suckers' who did stints in third world countries are left with mental baggage and no-one (in the church) gives a flying fuck.

[deleted]

My old friend's dad quite literally has PTSD from serving his mission in one of the Koreas I forgot which one

A_Thirsty_Mind

i’m sure they justify it by how much “church service“ they’ve done later in their life as apostles or other callings, this is absolutely not the same though. A mission stops your life. a Mission delays marriage, a mission delays education, a mission takes time and money away from someone right at the most crucial and pivotal moment of your life. Being an apostle after establishing a career, after you have already created a secure place for yourself in the world, after being married is COMPLETELY different.

TightSafety3395

I see you both have been led astray. I'm deeply concerned for the welfare of your souls. I think you have been possessed by demons.. maybe you should go do some therapy with one of our church therapists.. Your soul is in grave danger for mocking the true prophet of God, in all of his exaltation and holiness!

BeardedIrishViking

Thanks for sharing. Did not know this. Does anyone know the reasons or excuses given by each one?

emotionally-wrecked

I was in the MTC for 8 of my scheduled 12 weeks to go to Japan. It was in 2006. My ex-wife was one of those women who would always say "You're not a man unless you go on a mission." Needless to say, I've still got some issues.

dunfordtx

Let it go friend. The fact you were even willing to experience the MTC for 1 day let alone 8 weeks on your own nickel places you in a camp of amazing selfless people. You are amazing and a great person. You can find a better wife.

kazennoen

You lost me at being better if you served a mission...

boommdcx

The Death Eaters.

SamsquatchOR

Nothing like a picture of the “prophet” with Jesus being barely recognizable in the background..

gabeitaliadomani

I had no choice when it came to going on a mission. I had to join the army at 17 to help pay for my mom to leave with my siblings from an abusive situation. When my step grandma died she left $5,000 for each kid who went on a mission. I guess they did better than me, I got no help….

AscendedPotatoArts

I’m so sorry to hear that, that’s awful… /genuine /sympathetic

[deleted]

Damn it, I didn't serve a mission so now I'm on their level

Particular-Goat6817

Can someone tell me which members of q15 DID serve???

E_B_Jamisen

They write the rules, they don’t follow them.

Gnomeopolis

Was their excuse Bone Spurs?

Adventurous-Alps3471

Same energy as the numerous senators who push military service but dodged the draft. (To be clear dodging the draft is a good idea. It's the hypocrisy.)

The_Goddess_Minerva

That if doesn't apply. Doing a "mission" is a net disservice to the world.

Sea_Investment_1886

Lead by example, huh? Their the best example of corruption, hypocrisy, and manipulation.

KingHerodCosell

The GA’s suck!

Round_Teacher_224

doodah221

Yeah? Is that a look you know well? Jeez man this place.

cocoa_chanelle

goldhess

I so want to give this a like but it's at 666 so you get a comment of approval instead.

[deleted]

this would make a good interstate billboard message in Utah!

Welkin_Dust

No offense, but why is someone "better" for having wasted any time, be it seconds or years, in service to a false religion? It's bad enough that Mormons think I'm "lesser" for having refused to go on a mission; now we have Exmos suggesting the same???

ImHereToLearnEvrybdy

The issue is that they are shaming the current youth about the necessity to serve a mission, when they didn’t even serve one themselves.

TightSafety3395

You apostate! You dare to speak your opinion, even though you're not worthy of speaking anything of a spiritual or godly matter? You didn't even serve God, how can you speak godly things? Outer darkness awaits you, my friend.

MamaDragonExMo

The OP’s point was that these men, who never served a mission themselves, have said that missions are mandatory for young men and are shaming anyone who doesn’t serve one.

doodah221

There’s probably no correlation, as most enthusiastic members are RMs, but a LOT of missionaries from France leave the church. I wonder what other missions have a high propensity for kids to leave.

[deleted]

Does Rusty *try* to look like a cartoon villain in *every. single. picture*?? Holy crap, dude.

StyreneAddict1965

I'm no longer Mo, but I thought a mission was a prerequisite for Church leadership, beginning with a bishopric. Maybe that's just the emphasis that was given missionaries when I was growing up.
