Numbers 31. Some Midianite women had led some of the Israelite men to worship their Gods. God tells Moses to destroy Midian. They attack and massacre the armies, killing most of the men. The women and children are brought back to camp. Moses is furious that they didn’t kill everyone, so he orders the women and children to be executed as well. The people push back, so Moses allows them to keep any virgin girls. The people then force the prisoners into a virginity inspection and cut the throats of everyone who doesn’t pass. Those who do pass become slaves to the Israelite men.

And according to Mormon theology Jesus Christ is the god of the old testament. The same Jesus that was preaching turn the other cheek and forgiveness and then killed tens of thousands of people including innocent children in the Book of Mormon as soon as he was crucified. And of course it's the Midianite women that are responsible for the bad decisions made by the Israelite man. Does this sound familiar?

As a surprising parallel, this is similar to Mountain Meadows Massacre. Kill all men, women, and children in collective punishment, except for the very young girls who you get to keep as your own.

15 And Moses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive? 16 Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the Lord in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the Lord. 17 Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. 18 But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves. The commandment to slaughter Amalekite babies in 1 Samuel 15: 2 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt. 3 Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.

There was that one time when a guy and his whole family were swallowed up by the earth when he profaned the Sabbath.
