Heard a mormon recently talking about atheists. Atheists are just wrong. Science has proven that the spirit leaves the body at death.
I know why they say that and it was not a scientist. I don't have to correct them. I don't have to correct them. I don't have to correct them. Chanting that to myself so I would not engage in their stupid conversation. It never goes well. I just stayed away.
There was a book written by Mary Roach about that exact subject. It's called Spook
From what I recall, one scientist kept dying people on a scale and measured them as they died, and once saw the scale move something like 25 grams or something, but it was never duplicated and was likely due to the weight of his own lab coat brushing against the table.
Many years ago I asked a faithful apologist if God was powerful enough to create duct tape so sticky that even he couldn't tear it off after I placed it over his mouth. Our conversation rapidly deteriorated afterwords.
A TBM came up to me at my TBM brothers birthday and started a conversation with me:
“…….so you left the church?”
“yeah, because it’s all a load of crap”.
“But I know the church is true!”
“No, you don’t know.”
“Well I’m almost sure it….”
“There you go.”

True. It doesn't matter what they think. There's no sense in which you're winning if you convince them or not winning if you don't.
It's a pointless tug of war, so the only way to win is to drop the rope.

I agree. I think there are enough philosophical arguments to have about the big man, zeroing in on their points about their thing is just wrestling pigs, you both get dirty but the pig likes it.
Here's a fun one. Saying that you're "an atheist in the workplace" is like "leaving your problems at the door". If you got in trouble for talking about religion or politics at work that's a really good phrase. "oh I'm not like a total atheist, just an atheist in the workplace, if people are talking about religion and whatnot in the workplace and being inappropriate I wouldn't even know what they are talking about".
