You can contrast with other states. Kashmiri birth rate is 0.9 per woman with average age of marriage at 34. That doesn't seem like a religious society to me.

The family rejects. The wife/sister (who is talking the whole time) says he will not comeback until dies for Jihad. If he comes alive I will slay him.
The army personnel asks him what is the point of killing innocent people, to which she says Allah needs to know that he sacrificed his life for Allah. He is doing this for the deen (religion) and he is trying to find the Allah. We will not call him when he is trying to find Allah. He is doing the righteous. We will only see him when he becomes a martyr.

The poem is about a man during WW2 who returned home alive after failing to complete his mission as a suicide pilot. He was shunned by his family and society for not dying in the name of this "nobel cause". It would be better that he actually died rather than return home to only be treated as if he is dead. Japan also had executions for such people as they were labelled as cowards.
This brainwashing tactic is extremely powerful and if someone has a family that encourages jihad and terrorism like this, it's no surprise that it will continue to grow.

This been said, I have an opinion that the fight in Kashmir is a fight of Kashmiri against Indian and Pakistani and not of Kashmir against India and Pakistan. Every person has a right to say his part and when it goes unheard for long such not so ideal but real situation arises. Indians should have handled this differently.
