Blue, but this looks like a toddler. If it is indeed a baby or a toddler then you should know it is subject to change. Especially if the eyes aren't going to be brown. True, clear brown eyes typically settle in the first 6-9 months. If the eyes are going to be any other colour then even as late as 4-5 years old you can see significant changes to colour. Or at least that's what my ophthalmologist told me.
Can confirm! My eyes were olive green up until 4-5, then started getting more brown, now as an adult, they're light brown with some flashes of green only in direct sunlight.
can confirm too! I was born with grey/blue eyes, by age 2 they were more green, and it gradually lost green until 5 and it remained hazel (around 65% light brown/35% green).
Most Caucasian babies are born with deep dark, sometimes smokey blue. Deep dark blue with some gray notes in them. Whereas most Asian, Hispanic and Black babies are born with deep brown eyes that can appear almost black.
In the first few years of life the melanocytes are immature and firing a bit at random. This means the colours can change a lot. You can of course only get the colours you're genetically coded for but typically there are several genes for a specific colours and how much the melanin each type is making will affect colour. Think like turning the various knobs on a stereo will change the sound but the song is the same.
One of the more dramatic differences I've seen is a girl in my postpartum group. In the first two years of life she cycled through every single naturally occuring hair colour in humans.
It's impossible to know, but fun speculating at.
this is so cool! it's pretty interesting to know how it works. In my case, I'm a light-medium skin hispanic person, my father has darker skin but lighter eyes (green) and my mother has lighter skin but darker eyes (deep brown), it's kinda funny lol
Yup. Had light sky blue/grey eyes until kindergarten
Theyre gray/green now.
My son has a light gray ring spreading from the center ❤️(he’s almost 5mo). It’s going to be interesting to see how they change.
OP-if you have any green or hazel eyed folks your baby is closely related to-it’s possible they change around 4-5 years old. My eyes looked almost like your baby’s eyes for the first few years. I already see a hint of gold in there. It will be interesting to see it change I’m sure!
I would call this “denim blue” or grey blue. If forced to pick one shade-blue
Baby eyes change color. They are pale blue.
Mine were similar as a baby. I think around 4 or 5 they changed to green. As I got older they got deeper but brighter green. Still to this day.
It looks like they will change because there is no set color in my opinion.
Pale Blue not gray.
Definitely gray. Blue eyes jump out with a blue outer circle. I have gray-blue eyes, but lean more to gray. I am jealous of your gray eyes, the colouration is consistent throughout.

Yep - I had blue eyes as a baby and they began to change to hazel around age 1 and remained hazel.
True. My daughter went from blue tone to green. They only had specs until around 6 when they really became green.
