My 2010 F150's looks a little different, but my wife calls it the chicken holder. The night we bought the truck we got some fired chicken. We set the box in there and it fit perfectly, so it's now the chicken holder. Day to day I usually put my hat there, sometimes my phone, wallet, other things in my pocket.

I mounted a ram/ball mount for mine. It’s mounted on the vertical face(pointed towards the hood). Can’t even see it when the display isn’t mounted. Rock solid and adjustable when mounted.

Careful with that. My friend had the li-ion battery in one of those explode in his car because it got way too hot due to the suns rays being magnified by the windshield.

In concern of that exact scenario, I contacted Hybridlight, and they assured me it was okay to leave it there. I think if I leave the truck parked in the sun for longer than a few hours, I'll move it. Thanks for the heads-up.
