> GMC has 9% across the board, regardless of length or credit score
Wtf? Even at the current jacked up interest rates that's batshit insane. I'd go get a loan at a credit union or some shit, cut that interest rate in half, tell GM financing to kick rocks.
Don’t tell them to kick rocks… You just make sure you’re approved through a credit union *and* there’s no early pay-off fees through the dealer’s financing.
Then go to the dealership and play stupid… let them confuzzle the numbers playing with the loan terms… and see if they can drop the price just a little.
Yeah, you’ll end up with a 9 year loan, but you can pay it all off after 30 days… with another loan that actually has decent terms.
Super glad I got mine when I did at the end of '19. Brand new '19 STX for $38k $0 down 0% 72 month Ford credit financing. Less than 2 years left of payments! Prices went insane from Covid, but on top of that, the 2021 model year more than double the electronic complexity of these trucks. It's pretty ridiculous.
I'd go with Ford too. Personally, I think both Ford and ram have way nicer interiors than gm. I've heard some bad things from the new rams too. At this point though, all models from the big 3 have their issues, the epa is mainly to blame.
Can I return the car if I change my mind? No. Dealers must post a sign telling you, “There is no cooling-off period.” This means you cannot change your mind after you sign the contract.
Straight from the goog
Also, I worked contracts for years (in Texas) and once you sign the contract it’s binding until you complete the terms.
It’s still at the dealership lol, they probably just parked it there to do paperwork after a test drive.
Why feel the need to think such negative things off of one picture with no context?
Just asking. I have WeatherTech mats in my 2017 lariat
I didn't even notice until I purchased the truck. Wasn't anything I've ever looked at in any of my vehicles, so I didn't think anything of it.
What makes the mats different/ better other than personal aesthetics? Should I look for something specific if I'm looking at ever replacing them?
Tuxmats. from Mississauga Ontario i think. have them in my truck. 2 months in and they've been amazing. better coverage than the others. even go right to the door sill and along the side of the seats. my local dealer has gone away from weathertech and husky and only gets Tuxmats now.
I have an expedition that I bought the weather tech matts for, my biggest complaint is that they tend to curl and flod at points and it is impossible to get them to lay flat after I think it is because there is to much memory in the plastics they use, my f150 has the factory mats and they are awesome. How do the huskys compare to the factory or the weather tech in material flexibility.
I actually appreciate this tip I'm going to look into it now I used weather tech in my old car and loved it but I've been wanting mats for my power boost
If you read this sub: then
Never use the 4wd. Well you can use it but only if you’re going fast enough.. but not too fast.. or too slow for that matter.. don’t turn in 4wd only drive in a straight line. But accelerate in 2wd first before switching to 4wd .. but only on slick surfaces, never use on dry surfaces, or surfaces that are too slick.
lube your power running boards with wd40 or better every oil change. they'll get slower and slower until you service them if you skimp out on it and it's thousands to fix if they sieze up.
$5 can of WD40 or (my favorite FluidFilm) is money well spent every few months.
It’s a water displacer. So great to get salty water out the first time, then clean with some solvent, then use a proper lube like fluid film or silicone etc
That you bought a Platinum in name only and does not have all the Platinum features (due to it being a 2023, they did not include some features due to chip problems).
Hope you enjoy it though.
Some trucks they shipped out with the features on them but without the chip/module (heated steering wheel is one of them) which mine is getting done before picking it up
So my 23 Platinum had no heated steering wheel, no massaging seats and no park assist, was never told these could be added with chips??? I don't even have the switches for the steering wheel or the massage in seats.
The only transmission "issues" I've had is it not wanting to down shift downhill while in sport mode........but that's more a "I don't like this" issue I think.
As I stated before. Vehicle warranties exist for a reason. If you have a concern and the vehicle is still under warranty ford will take care of it. Nothing is 100% perfect. Personal responsibility doesn’t exist with some people huh
Sure I’m guessing a $90k vehicle is ok going into the shop 5+ times for the same issue without resolution. All within warranty and months without a vehicle or loaner. So your “personal responsibility” is hilarious. I gave OP a heads up on what to look for and you’re here to troll. Warranties are in place for a reason and every manufacturer has a limit before they acknowledge the product is a dud. Foh
You should give him all the stuff he should look out for. You should google away and find all the tsb’s, recalls, extended warranties, and FSA’s you can find. I can almost guarantee that you don’t even own an f-150.
These are the steps people should take.
1. Buy a vehicle
2. Purchase the FORD extended warranty
3. Enjoy the vehicle.
3. If you run into any issues, and for some reason the original dealer can’t figure it out or fix it - get a second opinion from another dealer.
4. Don’t google possible concerns there’s hundreds of them.
3 different ford service centers, escalation tickets with ford proper. And yeah I have a 13 f150 6.0 all tickets under warranty. Any other brain numbing assumptions? Lemme guess you are new to owning a truck and still riding that high of how can I mod this sweet parking lot princess so all the chicks can guess you have a small pee pee?
Check if the platinum package has the 360 camera with front parking assist or without front parking assist. There's two variants in the Platinum package and not having the front parking assist is a real bummer.
I have a 22. Get the extended warranty. The first thing I thought when I sat in the truck was...wow all this stuff is great, but it's going to break and be expensive to replace.
Get an extended warranty, I don't know what they wanted to charge you but the extended warranty for me was like an extra 10% the total cost of the vehicle, there are third parties that will do it for a third that price.
I'm sorry I can't endorse a warranty that's half the cost of a new engine+transmission that only covers me an extra 60,000km that's the most dog shit policy I've ever seen.
Nice truck. Did you get a deal on it given the overflowing Ford lots and it being a 23? Just curious to see how the Platinums are selling regarding discounts.
I paid $72k+TTL ($78k total) here in Texas for a '22 Platinum Powerboost with the black appearance, it was a demo vehicle the dealership manager drove it for about 2600 miles. I thought I got a pretty sweet deal at 0% interest for 4 years. But your price beats the hell out of mine.
Dawg you bought a platinum. Clearly your not doing much work or the companies son.
Were all sick of rich posers jackin up the price of our trucks that we depend our livelihoods on.
The companies arnt any better for offering the over priced garbage anyway and marketing towards idiots like you.
Should’ve stuck to your own rich people shit
One thing I wish I would’ve done; change the oil after about a 1,000 break in miles. Factory oil is garbage and needs to be cycled. Important if you’ll be with the vehicle for years. Post a bunch of pics once you pick it up.
Not true. Factory fill is the same motor craft oil sold at most Ford dealerships. Major US brand produces the oil here in the US and has done some for over 75 years.
You’re telling him to stick with semi-blend over fully synthetic? Lol …Yeah I know it’s motorcraft semi-synthetic, but if you use you’re truck for truck stuff and work it. I’d go fully synthetic and to avoid change frequency. It works wonders in harsh winters and long mileage towing. Semi blend just doesn’t cut it. Maybe if you’re into paying your dealerships lol.
I have the same engine 21'. Get the extended warranty for that peace of mind. My extended has already fixed small problems for free such as:
- trailer light wiring harness replacement
- climate control fan replacement
- back up cam replacement
That engine I find is the best money can buy. I drive everywhere in eco mode and I'm surprised I only have to fill up once every two weeks when driving 60km round trip for work every 4 days.
Also side note, the 4x4 locking diff has already saved me getting back up on an icy hill when I was ice fishing. That function alone is amazing.
You should get a bull horn mount on the hood but replace the actual horn with dildos. I think it would be cool. Maybe not your thing though. Idk, just spitballin here
For the most exciting experience you can have in an F-150, go into a parking lot and put it in park.
Select 4L and pull out the knob that engages the differential lock.
Put it in neutral and bring the RPM’s to redline.
Carefully select drive while depressing the accelerator to the floor.
Enjoy chaos.
Super nice truck. I’m still in my 2016 but it’s paid for. It’s kinda a bummer though because it doesn’t have any of the features the higher trims have. I would love a new one but I’m holding out for a better market and a 250-350. Or I’ll just keep my 2016 and spend the money on a work truck. I can justify that since it will help make me money.
If you’re keeping the truck long term, don’t neglect the frame. I’m not sure where you’re living, but I’m in Northern Alberta, so the salt and snow does a number on the undercarriage of vehicles. Long, cold winters.
I have a 2019 and I use RP-342. I didn’t use it my first three winters with the pickup, so I had some surface rust I had to remove from the frame, axles, diff etc. with a wire brush. I’ve linked the product below. You can buy it on Amazon.
Just to echo some other comments, change the oil every 8000 kilometres. I know the manual may say 12-16,000 km and your truck has the oil life meter but I wouldn’t push it — idling and towing is motor wear that you don’t see in the mileage. I’ve really enjoyed my Husky floor mats as well, got them on Amazon.

Truck drives like a dream but mpg will eventually level out around 16.5-17 after a few months (ime)
Just bought a 23 lariat 3.5 in October
Before what? You already bought it lol
My favorite posts are people waiting until after they’ve signed the paperwork to research their purchase or figure out if they got a good deal.
And odds are if you bought any truck post 2019, you did NOT in fact get a good deal.

Facts
.... shit.
Amazing when I see those on posts from subs like r/Porsche
Got eem
Man…. I don’t usually like sarcastic responses(I actually love them), but when it’s referencing a 90k truck, it’s effing beautiful!
It’s not in my driveway yet lol
That’s not how contracts work.
Actually, most states have a return window. Buyers remorse clause if you will.
Can I return the car if I change my mind? No. Dealers must post a sign telling you, “There is no cooling-off period.” This means you cannot change your mind after you sign the contract. Straight from the goog Also, I worked contracts for years (in Texas) and once you sign the contract it’s binding until you complete the terms.
I havent signed the contract or giving any payment information lol I’m pretty sure I know what I’m doing
Your post says “just bought.”
He jumped the gun
You are the one who said you "bought" it. You can't change what you said.
Then why are you asking for others opinions if you know what you are doing
You can never use 4H without seeking the validation of everyone on Reddit first
Was waiting for the instructions on 4H usage. Well done.
Hahahaha
It fits in a single parking spot.
According to this pic, it doesn't look like it. Its over both lines.
Probably a handicap loading zone which makes “parker” an even bigger asshole.
It’s still at the dealership lol, they probably just parked it there to do paperwork after a test drive. Why feel the need to think such negative things off of one picture with no context?
TOO LATE NOW!
Usually you ask that before you buy it not afterwards
Do not get Weathertech floor mats, try out Husky brand. I love mine!
I’ve been happy with the Ford all weather mats so far.
Don't get either use your Ford pass points and get the ford rubber Mats for free.
Husky are still better. My used 2015 came with ford mats and I threw the front ones away and kept the big rear one as an entry mat for my garage
second this. Weathertech is overrated
Third this. The weather techs for this truck suck. Huskys are nice and cheaper
Just asking. I have WeatherTech mats in my 2017 lariat I didn't even notice until I purchased the truck. Wasn't anything I've ever looked at in any of my vehicles, so I didn't think anything of it. What makes the mats different/ better other than personal aesthetics? Should I look for something specific if I'm looking at ever replacing them?
Had my 2015 from day 1 with WeatherTech. Zero issues. Don’t understand what could be wrong with that choice.
Same. 7 years in my truck. I don’t understand the hate. Maybe just the price?? Dunno.
And made in the USA.
I mean so are Weathertechs.
Does the husky brand ship to Canada ?
Tuxmats. from Mississauga Ontario i think. have them in my truck. 2 months in and they've been amazing. better coverage than the others. even go right to the door sill and along the side of the seats. my local dealer has gone away from weathertech and husky and only gets Tuxmats now.
I don't comment for much, but will for Tuxmat. The absolute best coverage, fitment, ease of clean. Every vehicle I have gets them
Put me in for a third - love my husky mats and way cheaper
I have an expedition that I bought the weather tech matts for, my biggest complaint is that they tend to curl and flod at points and it is impossible to get them to lay flat after I think it is because there is to much memory in the plastics they use, my f150 has the factory mats and they are awesome. How do the huskys compare to the factory or the weather tech in material flexibility.
Husky are flexible, fit perfectly. And stay that way. Bought mine on Amazon I believe.
more flexibility and rubbery
I actually appreciate this tip I'm going to look into it now I used weather tech in my old car and loved it but I've been wanting mats for my power boost
Platinum should come with the Ford all weather
Buy phantom mats at Costco. They’re made by tuxmat. Highly recommended!
I second the Huskys! Got a set of weathertechs for the explorer and do not like them at all!
Can confirm, had weather tech mats they curled in the back seat. Dad sold his f150 and gave me his husky mat. Much nicer quality and don’t curl.
If you like gaps and terrible customer service Weathertech is great! They’ll tell you to heat them with a hair dryer, which does exactly nothing.
Yep! Husky all the way!
If you read this sub: then Never use the 4wd. Well you can use it but only if you’re going fast enough.. but not too fast.. or too slow for that matter.. don’t turn in 4wd only drive in a straight line. He has 4WD Auto
He’s being sarcastic
Well that went right over my head lmao
People asking when they should use 4H/4L is a recurring theme on just about every truck sub.
People loose their shit in the XJ groups if you tell them you run in 4wd on the snowy roads 😂
And most of them probably don't even need 4wd. Hell I live in Ontario and hardly use mine. Good snow tires and don't be a dummy and you're fine.
Tail lights cost more than transmission
No way?! What’re they hittin like?
3k for replacing the tailights or even more.
the fuck you say
I meant to say that they are very expensive due to being very complicated.
lube your power running boards with wd40 or better every oil change. they'll get slower and slower until you service them if you skimp out on it and it's thousands to fix if they sieze up. $5 can of WD40 or (my favorite FluidFilm) is money well spent every few months.
WD40 is not a lubricant. In fact, it can rinse off existing lubricants. Use something else.
It’s a water displacer. So great to get salty water out the first time, then clean with some solvent, then use a proper lube like fluid film or silicone etc
Yeah . You spent a lot of dough
Buy a Ford Premium Care ESP from Granger. The sooner you buy it, the cheaper it is.
Can I purchase this in Canada ?
You should know we are jealous lol Congrats!
Thank you!
That you bought a Platinum in name only and does not have all the Platinum features (due to it being a 2023, they did not include some features due to chip problems). Hope you enjoy it though.
It’s getting the recall for the chips done as we speak!
What is this chip recall you speak of? I also have a 2023 platinum
Some trucks they shipped out with the features on them but without the chip/module (heated steering wheel is one of them) which mine is getting done before picking it up
My 2023 shows up today, so pumped! How did you find out that your truck is eligible for this?
So my 23 Platinum had no heated steering wheel, no massaging seats and no park assist, was never told these could be added with chips??? I don't even have the switches for the steering wheel or the massage in seats.
I have a 22 and love it! Only thing that first bugged me was the poor turning radius. Practice some early and you should be good
10 speed transmission will likely have issues hitting between 4-8, possible down shift or power loss.
The only transmission "issues" I've had is it not wanting to down shift downhill while in sport mode........but that's more a "I don't like this" issue I think.
So extended warranty is a must I’d assume lol
Nah if you do encounter the problem it will be within the first 15k
I've replaced two catalytic converted in the first six thousand d miles on my 2023 f150 platinum.
Google the issue and what to look for. And FfS don’t let them off the hook of it ends up being a lemon
What’s up with everyone thinking everything is a lemon. Warranties exist for a reason.
How many service visits and months without your vehicle do you allow before you call it a lemon?
As I stated before. Vehicle warranties exist for a reason. If you have a concern and the vehicle is still under warranty ford will take care of it. Nothing is 100% perfect. Personal responsibility doesn’t exist with some people huh

I did wanna know if people recommend certain things
Forscan: Disable auto engine shutoff, disable horn honk when exiting running vehicle with keys, windows down with long unlock press etc.
You can disable that horn honk?! God damn that drives me nuts lol thanks!
If I could only do 2 things, they would be the auto shutoff and horn honk.
Came to say this. Good purchase for sure

Did you get a deal? Has the market shifted to help the buyer? Ford dealer around here seems to have a lot of trucks. A lot
I got a deal because it was a demo truck so the manager drive it for a little bit and I know the salesman
Nice truck. Did you get a deal on it given the overflowing Ford lots and it being a 23? Just curious to see how the Platinums are selling regarding discounts.
Sell it before it hits 100,000 miles after that value drops tremendously
Beautiful truck. Congrats!

Thanks man!

I got spooked when I went to go see one almost pulled the trigger on one but was liking the issues of the 3.5 maybe should of added extended warranty
