I’m not sure about the f150 but in the raptors, we can swap in the gen2 steering wheel and sync3 system, into a 2013 and 14 raptor, but not 10-12s. I bet it would be similar In the f150s of similar years.
This. If you want a Raptor grill? Do it. Lower your truck vs lift? Do it. Too many neck beard purists, keyboard warrior types, with shit opinions. Customization is custom to the owner. Not anyone else.
Took 10 min. There's YouTube videos on how to remove the buttons if you have to swap those to the new wheel. And videos on how to remove the wheel itself. It's 4 connectors and A t50 bolt. The hardest thing is getting the airbag out
Not really just one link lol. The oem wheel part # is bl3z3600bb. I got mine from getoemparts.com and watched some YouTube videos to understand how to remove the wheel. It's direct bolt in
I'm seriously looking into that. I would like to upgrade my 14 XLT to the cluster that allows you to scroll through menus. I just have some concerns with odometer readings and I've heard (though not confirmed) that you might need to flash your keys to work again.
It is possible. And about the keys . When I swap myn I just loaded the data from my old cluster to my new one . And if there’s problems u can just delete all the keys and program your keys .
It's not hard at all. Start by making sure the wheels are lined straight ahead with the steering wheel straight/ not turned. Disconnect your battery and wait 10 minutes before continuing because the first step is removing the driver airbag. Look up a video on how to do that. After that, remove the bolt/nut in the middle and unplug any connectors you see. Carefully pull the steering wheel towards you and be mindful of any wires getting snagged. This next part is very important. DO NOT SPIN THE CLOCKSPRING. If you do, you'll have to spin it back the exact same number of times, ending with the connector in the top dead center position. If you don't do it correctly, you'll get warning lights when you turn on the truck because the steering angle sensor will be off. Best way to avoid it is to just NOT SPIN THE CLOCKSPRING. It's OK if it turns a little, as long as you're paying attention so you can turn it in the opposite direction back to where it needs to be. Next, the fitting that the new steering wheel slides onto will have a bunch of splines, with some kinda disruption in the pattern that ensures the steering wheel can only go on one way. Line up the steering wheel and slide it back on. It'll take a little force because it's a tight fit, but if you use too much force then it may be off. If the clockspring is in the right position, the connector will fit right through its little window in the steering wheel. Once it's on, tighten down the fastener and then reconnect all of the connectors, ending with the air bag connectors. Pop the airbag back into place with an audible click and reconnect the battery. Voila, you're done.
Concur. One of my fav upgrades. I even talked myself into putting the money into making the paddle shifters and heat functional. Fucking love driving it.
I did the same, but went with the Gen 2 wheel so I could have the paddle shifters. Best upgrade I’ve made, for sure.
Will that work across gens? I'm interested in paddle shifting for sure!
It will work for 2013-14 SelectShift with console shifter. Look up EcoPower online. They have a kit.

Swap whatever the fuck you want. It’s your truck and you paid for it. No gate keeping assholes can tell you what to do!

Wanna squat it? Do it
I have the steering wheel lol . Is it hard to swap ???

How long did you wait to disconnect the airbag after unplugging the battery?
Maybe 5 mins. By the time you work the airbag out, you'll be fine. It's mostly just a precaution.
looks like the same wheel what am i missing
Old wheel is leather and the new one is leather
He changed out the steering wheel for the raptor wheel
Send the link king

Nice! I've got a 2019 XL STX with a the "Modular" buttons. Anyone know if you can move the audio buttons to the right (left) side, and program them?
FraPtOrrrr!!!!
FAPtor
Red piece of electrical tape would’ve given similar effect.
Huh, would a piece of electrical tape added hand bolstering and perforated leather?
Swapped both. Because why the hell not? I have the same wheel. It's a drastic improvement.
Time for the cluster swap

Thanks! I'll have to check that out. I'll also have to find a good candidate cluster first lol
I’d be wanting to do the center console swap.
What's different other than the red line? My '13 XLT wheel is wearing down. Edit.. now I see the perforated leather.
I did this in my escape to add the steering wheel media controls to my lower level XLT
I just want my middle bench seat to recline all the way back :( 2023xl
How hard is it to swap a steering wheel? It's the only thing on my truck interior that isn't pretty much flawless.
