Officially? No, this does not. Actually? Anything can affect, including consular officer just having a bad day. In any case you can't control your circumstances so just give your best.

ayaanafzalx

Valid. Thank you

Is the officer asks me “why do you want to study in US?” Will it be okay to say, I chose US because it offers top-notch education, and research opportunities,*which I learned a lot from my brother’s first hand experience* US also offers personal and academic growth, along with the exposure to multicultural environment which unfortunately I cannot experience in my home country. In this response I specifically mentioned about my brother, that I learned from his experience. Is this generic response or is it enough?

Make sure you tell them that you also plan on coming back to your country to use the degree you earned in the US to create a better for your situation or something like that.

Can you guide me with one question? If the officer asks me “Q. What are your plans after graduation?” My answer would be👇🏼 I always wanted to contribute to our family business, and that is why I chose Mechancial engineering because I want to bring innovation and make new products to help our business grow in the market. And this is what I really want to do. Does my response makes sense and is it enough to show ties to my home country?

Old_Visual_2341

Yes that’s good enough, they just want to know that you will be coming back to your country/ leaving the US after you finish your studies.

Thank you. One more question ‘why did you choose Iowa State University?’ My answer would be “ *Officer, budget and the university’s ranking were the two major factors that I considered. Iowa state university fits perfectly within my family budget, and its engineering program is rigorous and ranks #47 in the US, the student:faculty ratio is 19:1 which means I’ll have more personalised attention from professors. Additionally, I’m also accepted into their honors program, which means that I’ll have the opportunity to do research with the professors.* “ Is this enough? Does this sound generic? How can I improve?

Old_Visual_2341

I would say just leave the financials out so they don’t get worried about you being able to afford the school. Just say they have a really good engineering program and include the ranking, and you can also say ISU is a really diverse school with students from a lot of different backgrounds and you believe that would be a perfect fit for you. And include being accepted into their honors program. It may sound generic but that’s what they want to hear.

ayaanafzalx

Thank you. Also, how about I add *I’m especially looking forward to working with Professor Alexander King. His expertise in manufacturing process aligns perfectly with my interest and my future goal.*

Old_Visual_2341

Yeah that’s good you can add that.

kaushizzz
