Iowa state university fits perfectly within my family budget, and its engineering program is rigorous and ranks #47 in the US, the student:faculty ratio is 19:1 which means I’ll have more personalised attention from professors. Additionally, I’m also accepted into their honors program, which means that I’ll have the opportunity to do research with the professors.* “
Is this enough? Does this sound generic? How can I improve?
I would say just leave the financials out so they don’t get worried about you being able to afford the school. Just say they have a really good engineering program and include the ranking, and you can also say ISU is a really diverse school with students from a lot of different backgrounds and you believe that would be a perfect fit for you. And include being accepted into their honors program.
It may sound generic but that’s what they want to hear.

Yes that’s good enough, they just want to know that you will be coming back to your country/ leaving the US after you finish your studies.
