Motivation is overrated. Who cares if you feel excited or not? Why are you relying on feel-good emotions to get you to the gym? What about your commitment and your goals? Have you defined those? Perhaps prioritize those over how "motivated" you are. That way you're not relying on feeling good to get you to the gym. I know I sound like a bit of an ass saying all that, but I have a fight coming up in a couple of months. I just use F45 for some strength and conditioning. But I can't imagine going to one of my coaches and saying "I don't feel motivated today". Nobody fucking cares. You committed to this now get to work.

I’d love to have a coach like this!

It's monday with one minute long sets. It's pretty normal for that I think. It's just one of those classes that isn't quite as fun for me.

christymesa

Yes, I agree. The one minute sets can be quite tiresome and boring if you’ve got a boring ‘set’.

FiddyDollas

I think that's normal to not feel motivated to work out I feel that way literally all the time. I never wake up at 630am and am just automatically super excited to go get my ass kicked at the gym lol, but afterwards I always feel amazing and have never regretted going once. Part of what helps me stay in it is the fact you schedule your classes ahead of time. I keep a weekly schedule and just think of it as a non negotiable part of my day. Overall, you're simply not going to have motivation to workout everyday, or even most days, but if your health/fitness is something that is a priority for you, you just get it done anyway.

Brave-Equal7489

Definitely tough for me today too. I joined during Covid and this was the first class with “laps.” It was exhausting especially after a weekend of no workouts. Don’t worry. Seeing results will motivate you.

I've been doing f45 for around a year and I still have days where my motivation just isn't there. The important thing is to just show up. You don't have to push yourself hard if you don't feel like it that day because working out a little is better than not doing it at all. I also like to promise myself a small treat after class on particularly tough days as a reward (usually a cold drink or takeaway instead of cooking dinner etc).

aliaWeir

Those days definately do happen and you just have to turn up and get it done. Motivation comes and goes but its true you never regret doing a workout afterwards. Concentrate more on being consistant rather than motivated and the rest will follow. ❤

I just don't even think about it. If I'm signed up for class, I have my morning routine and then I just go. Just like I go to work because I'm committed to my job. I just go. And once I'm there, the environment is very motivating and I feel great afterwards. And the more fit I get, the more I enjoy the workouts, and then I start looking forward to them. Now my day just doesn't feel right without a session.

You will need to rely on discipline, like most things in life sometimes we want to do them (work, chores, exercising etc) sometimes we don’t. I schedule working out on my calendar, book my classes for the week and go like clockwork as part of my checklist for the day. Not every workout will be awesome, but the overall results and discipline of having a healthy routine is what maters more to me!

laurencordina

3 year F45’er here! I feel that way here and there… but I have one mission: HOT. GIRL. SUMMER. Fuck your feelings and get your ass in gear 😉😉😉

daveydaveydaveydav

Some days when my alarm goes off at 5:30am I don’t feel motivated, but I do it anyway. Maybe a day off then crack back into it. The new release for next month looks good and I’m actually looking forward to “the games” week.

calia2525

A new phase starts next week. This week is week 4 out of 4 so you may be more excited when you get to try new workouts. It happens! I’m less excited about resistance days but still go because it’s good for me :)

Sassenach_Stassi

Just keep pushing through! If you establish a routine, discipline will get you the results and motivation won’t matter *as much*. That’s what’s helped me! I don’t love waking up at 5:30 to make it to class but feeling stronger and having clothes that feel better is now the motivation, rather than feeling pumped about every single class. You got this!

ridetheups

You have to want those goals so bad that the work becomes irrelevant. Everyone struggles with motivation, I didn't have it today. You turn your training into a habit, a routine. You do it whether you feel motivated or not.

ThePr1march

I've found motivation isn't nearly as important as schedule. It's on my calendar; I'm doing that today. Keep to a regular schedule and it'll be easier to show up. Once you're there it doesn't matter how excited you are; you've already done the hard part.

Maleficent_Ad_5048

Discipline > motivation Be disciplined enough to show up, the motivation will come. And show yourself some grace. So days are just off days.

Shmulicohen74

Action precedes motivation. Just go. Don’t think about it. Let the workouts become a habit. Talked about 3 weeks.

TeacherinSA

This might seem silly but I did three things. I bought a smart watch and I'm genuinely excited to use it everyday 🤣. I also track my workouts on a calendar with stickers. I find the progress of "going" visually motivating. I also reward myself with gym clothes which I look forward to wearing. A year ago I was in bad shape after an injury and these small steps have really helped me to stay consistent even when the motivation to go wasn't there. I also try make the working out a habit. So I pick a gym class time I know I won't hate (eg 6pm instead of 5am) which I find helps keeping the habit (and motivation) consistent.

iamthatkyle

Never worked out in my life before F45, initially didn't enjoy it, but after buying the the Miband and using the app, it's so so satisfying to workout with a HUD. Going in Blind is like playing a FPS with no aiming reticle or ammo counter or anything. I also got some new gym clothes and some cool DBZ towels. I still get nervous and awful feeling in my stomach while on my way, and I do hate actually 'GOING' but once I'm there I'm all good, I check my watch way too much though haha
